Went to go look at two different vans with low mileage. But decided to look on Carfax before deciding which one to purchase. Thank goodness I did!! Both vans had very high mileage which means the odometer was rolled back. Too many deceitful people out there Carfax saved me a lot of headache, time and money. I recommend that everyone get a Carfax first! So thanks to Carfax. I was able to find a van with Good mileage on it, that was the actual mileage of the vehicle. And now I have a new van thank you Carfax.

I recently received a Carfax report from a Ford dealer on a 2020 Ford Edge Titanium and used it to make the decision to buy this car. The report was valuable, in spite of the mileage listed 3 days prior to the sale at 2433 miles less than it was on the day of the sale. The dealership had no definite explanation as to why the report was incorrect.

The Carfax website is apparently designed by bitter, vindictive, malcontents who despise the idea of a customer being able to print a copy of the report. There is no “print” button and there is no printer friendly version. A (paying) customer should be able to easily get a printable copy of the report for which he paid, but no! Carfax it seems has gone to great lengths to force the customer to jump through multiple hoops to get and print a report. What a pathetic, over-hyped website. I am beyond disappointed.

Typed in my VIN to get CarFax report. Got a message that it was the wrong VIN but "here is what you may be looking for". It pulled up CarFax per their suggestion and it was for the same year, make, model and color. I printed it out. It was not my car. I have asked to them to contact me and they said within a day or so. It's been almost a week. Had already paid $49+ I want the correct Car Fax or a refund. BUT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM INSTANTLY SO I WILL GIVE THEM 5 STARS. A REMARKABLE REPORT.

Carfax is definitely the best option for vehicle reports. I bought an SUV and spent $30 on another known vehicle history report service but it provided very little information. I ended up looking for other options, which is when I went back to Carfax even tho the price may be steep for a personal report. It turned out to be worth the money because they provided a much more detailed maintenance history. The extensive records ultimately convinced me to purchase the vehicle.

This report was extremely helpful. Several things were alarming on it that I had no idea about, especially the new transmission that was installed right before I got it and the dealership neglected to tell me that it was a rental for the first 23,000 miles. A few things have been replaced, which indicated that it hasn't had the best care, but for the most part, it's a pretty good vehicle. Thank you so much!!! It was well worth the money to pay for this report. At least now, I know what I've gotten myself into.

I'm a little late but I sold my car about 2 months ago and had the best experience possible. I listed it on a few sites and got low offers and haggles but was able to get an instant offer from carfax. I went the day after and was in and out in less then 90min with a check. A super chill and professional mechanic named Chris checked the car out while Shep was doing all the backend paperwork. I got the exact online offer and had zero issues. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an easy solution. My family has also purchased cars here as well so ill definitely be back. Thanks yall;)

The first time I bought a car from Carmax it was easy as pie and took about an hour or so. This time it was a glitchy process that took 4 hours. I did everything I could online and got a pre approval no problem. I made an appointment and when I got there they didn’t have record of it. After a few paperwork glitches it finally came together. I was hoping the sales person could go with us on the test drive but ever since COVID the don’t. Really!? COVID is over folks… let’s get on with life! I won’t go into all the annoying little issues but it’s done and we like the rig so far!

I custom, ordered a brand new Pick up from the factory in 2008 I drove it 102,000 had it about 4 years and got a new one off the lot, ALWAYS wondered how MY OLE truck was doing, I found it exciting to learn a second owner drove it another 100,000 and now a third owner has it with 208,000!!!! Only wish I could see it again:( No information on who or where exactly it is? So, 3 stars...

Excellent source. We purchased our crossover after buying the CARFAX for extra confirmation. We needed a safe vehicle for our daughter to travel back and forth for work. Blessed & Grateful. Highly recommend :-))) 5 Stars!

While searching for specific vehicles the first thing I looked at was the Carfax report, provided by dealership or purchased by me ( if a vehicle was promising). If there was missing scheduled or inconsistent data the vehicle was marked off my list. Realize not everyone reports data or DYI for a lot of things but most semi to critical items need shop work. So, if they were missing it was a quick NO. Is anything 100%, no, but by using Carfax reports there is a definite advantage.

Good information for buying used cars. Every bit of work done on vehicle was documented. I was glad to see no accidents and only 2 owners on an older car. Also told me about a recall needed. After seller is done with recall I will feel confident because of info received from carfax. Worth every.penny

Carfax is great! We are able to tell immediately price, mileage and location of vehicles for sale plus how many owners and if there were any accidents. We didn't find a vehicle yet, but Carfax info gave us several trucks to check out. We certainly appreciate it.

I would not now buy a vehicle without a Carfax. During my last purchase I had 3 different Auto Dealers (Used Cars) outright lie to me about a vehicle. If I didn't have Carfax I would have purchased a vehicle that had been in 3 wrecks. Another vehicle a Used Car Dealer tried to sell me had a salvage title. Without Carfax I would have been out a few thousand dollars on either one of these used vehicles.

Recently ordered a Carfax report for a vehicle I was looking at. Honestly, it raised more questions than answers. No service history info (which I later found out exists from qualified dealers in the warranty period), and while it mentioned two accidents, no info on whether they were serious or light damage. Also shows clean title but I have a feeling the title was washed when the car was off the road due to an accident and reappeared with a different state title. Completely not worth the $45. I actually ended up paying $25 to another company who gave me much more seevice history information than the Carfax report. Sorry Carfax, I do not recommend your services anymore.

Used CarFax for a car I'm trying to sell. I pulled a report for about $50 to verify a suspected error, I was correct. There is an error on my CarFax report and my AutoCheck report. Provided AutoCheck correct information and they corrected within two days. It's now been 8 days and the error is not yet corrected in CarFax. The insurance company caused the error and I'm still working on having them update the MVA data which is the source of data for the CarFax and AutoCheck reports.

I recently spent nearly 5 months searching for a specific used vehicle type that I wanted (> 15 years old). Given the age I was seeking, these were going to be high mileage with a LOT of history, and not found on traditional car search sites. So I spent a lot of time on Marketplace. I communicated with over 50 sellers and ran CarFax on 15+ of those. CarFax saved me! 3 of those cars were showing photos of odometer readings well below the CarFax report. 2 other vehicles had title issues (salvage) despite the seller claiming they had "clean titles". One of the sellers claimed to be the original owner of a garage kept vehicle, but the CarFax showed it was built for a prominent car rental company and had 42,000 miles in its first 16 months. One showed numerous accidents, and the maintenance records following those accidents showed the issues were never really resolved. Ultimately, I found the "ultimate find" of the vehicle I wanted. The CarFax verified the low mileage, the service records were there, and the seller was offering the vehicle well below the CarFax estimated "Retail Price". I bought it, and have had it all the way through state inspection and reviewed by 2 mechanics - and it is clean. I confess I bristled a little each time I bought a 4-pack of CarFax searches, but when I think of all of the money (and grief) they saved me, it was worth every penny!!

Went and found a car we liked. We decided to test drive so we went inside and checked in. We waited for more than 20 minutes on the chairs next to the windows. No one ever came and got us. We left and bought a car somewhere else. Terrible experience and we will not ever go back. The positive is that we found a new place we loved and will buy more cars for our kids in the next couple years.

I found a used LEXUS SUV that was 10 years old, but looked like it just came from the show room floor. I decided to spent $40 to get the CARFAX maintenance records on the car. I was blown away with the extent of those records. So much detail for everytime the car was serviced inclulding the type of service (40,000 mile service) and what items were included in that service. NEVER IMAGINED I WOULD FIND SUCH A COMPLETE RECORD ON A USED CAR. BUT CARFAX HAD IT ALL. I BOUGHT THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE CARFAX RECORDS ON FILE

This is a great App for those of us to document a cars history. I keep a date log for all the maintenance I do on all my cars and trucks along with my 3 daughters. Plus it saves to the car vin number showing how it’s been taken care of. You can also pull you log book of saved work over the years going way back and log it to vin. You can pull up all cars you own to check what’s due soon. It’s like a full log book in an app on your phone.

I like Carfax, because it can sometimes pick up more detailed maintenance. My issue is that you can't share your "real- time" data with anyone, until carfax sends you a link in your email. I bought a 2- pack. I received a shareable report one day later for my first report, which is unsatisfactory. Then had to ask costumer service for my next report, because it hadn't come at all. This took them 2 days to send the report. Perhaps customer support is busy, and that's fine, so simply put a "share" icon/ button on your home screen or the report itself. Waiting even a day can sometimes be too late if you're trying to share the report with a potential buyer. Luckily now, the state offers free reports, so I'm done with carfax and it's not my problem, but please fix this for others, if you care to stay relevant in an ever growing market. You're welcome...

When Car shopping I always am happy when the digital ad for the car has a CARFAX Link. When I get really interested in buying, I will always buy the CARFAX, and see what has happened. I use it to feel good about my decision, and to negotiate as appropriate. What's not to like? I know I can get a logical/reasonable evaluation of my trade in.

Why I’ll Always Order a Carfax I found a car on AutoTrader that looked perfect. Low miles. One owner. Premium price. Clean history. The seller provided an AutoCheck report, and I assumed—wrongly—that AutoCheck was equivalent to Carfax. I trusted it. I moved forward based on that report. After the purchase, something didn’t sit right, so I ordered a Carfax on my own. That’s when I discovered what AutoCheck missed. The car had been in a front-end collision. The seller never disclosed it. The AutoCheck didn’t show it. But Carfax did. What I learned the hard way is simple: AutoCheck and Carfax are not the same, and relying on a seller-provided report is a mistake. Some accidents show up on one service and not the other. In this case, the accident mattered—and it directly affected the value of the vehicle I paid a premium price for. Going forward, I won’t rely on sellers or AutoCheck reports alone. I will always order my own Carfax before buying a vehicle. It’s a small cost that can save you from a very expensive surprise.

Using Carfax gave me a good insight onto the history of the vehicle i was looking to purchase. They did identify a lien against it that even the seller was unaware of. They were able to look into it and get it cleaned up. That in itself was worth the money of the report.

Car fax saved me from a complete scam last week. 45.00 purchase for specific vehicle saved me 53k. After reviewing the findings I presented them to the private seller. He still tried to pass off a salvaged commercial vehicle as new/used.

First time to buy a car from Carmax I got a 2022 Lexus NX luxury SUV . it was a really great experience. It was easy process. Can’t ask for any better. I would definitely buy a car from Carmax again.

Bought a ‘03 Tahoe for my kid for a winter vehicle, said it was a one owner truck, which the Carfax proved along with it’s outstanding service history, having that information in hand was priceless vs some guy telling you yeah it in great shape no issues Josh

I was looking for a used Jeep for my son’s first car. Like everyone else I searched dealerships, auto seller websites and of course marketplace. I found the prices on marketplace to be the most reasonable, but a lot of vehicles on marketplace have hidden histories that will come back to bite you if you don’t do your homework. I found the perfect Jeep for my son. A beautiful Sarah addition Jeep with under 100k miles and it looked to be very well cared for. The owner supplied the vin and I ran a carfax with full intent to buy the vehicle once I got the clean carfax. Well, not so fast. Turns out the vehicle odometer had been tampered with. By looking at the carfax you could see the mileage each time the vehicle was repaired or serviced by a reputable dealer. Each time the service or repair was performed the mileage was noted. There was a gap between service records and the next entry showed the mileage had rolled back over 10,000 miles. I told the seller what I found and sent him the carfax. The seller stated he bought the Jeep the year previous and had no idea there had been odometer tampering. I continued my search and eventually found a really nice one owner Jeep that passed the carfax check. If I had not used carfax I would have bought a Jeep with untold miles that would have been hard to sell later on, if I decided to sell it.

I cannot tell you how thankful I am for Carfax. I was going to buy a used Mercedes. I drove over 500 mi to advantage Auto sales in garden City Idaho outside of Boise. They had sent me some second rate Carfax competitor showing that it had four owners and no accidents. Something told me I should just do a Carfax though, and sure enough it was actually seven owners with an accident. When I pulled up I went to the underbody where the accident was supposed to have been and sure enough there was clear physical evidence of an accident, furthermore the sales attendant was not surprised at all, and supposedly they had done and inspection and I say that loosely because they also didn't notice that it was missing a spare tire. The point is is that Carfax saved me for making a horrible mistake. 3 weeks later I have the same model car I was looking at, 30,000 less miles, one owner, and truly no accidents thanks to a second Carfax report lol. I will never buy a car without a Carfax again. Neither should you. 10/10
