I drove 40 minutes for the Uber inspection, but when I arrived, they told me they only accept $20 cash and don’t take cards. It was very frustrating and disappointing.
We love Pham's! They recently finished a major diagnostic and repair on my vehicle, and spotted a few issues I was wondering about, all taken care of promptly and at a fair price, and let me see and understand what they did. And then a few days later, when an unexpected minor tweak came up (no one's fault), they took care of it and me immediately and sent me on my way.
We've been using Pham's off and on for 20+ years, and they really are the best. Prompt and fair and friendly and authentic. Thank you everyone!

Went in for a simple car inspection. Called before, they said it's $20. The problem is that they only told me that it has to be in cash when I got there. I mentioned that they should warn people who call that it needs to be in cash. The woman responded, "I only answer the questions I'm asked," which was not just insanely obnoxious, but flatly not true -- moments before she had told me, unsolicited, that the last time for inspections was 2:30 pm. A simple "You're right, sorry for the inconvenience" would have been sufficient. Welp, I now know to take my business to a competitor auto care that knows how to communicate with customers with basic decency.
Quick and friendly service. I phoned ahead to check if they had time for a walk-in emissions test and they told me to come on in. A clear quote was provided to me before service started and I was in and out in about 15 minutes!
Always great service. They are fast & reliable along with being really nice people. If I could give 10 stars I would. Will be back again and highly recommend coming here for services .
Avoid dealing with them if you value good customer service
The repair took almost 3 days, with excuses about a new part received "damaged". Despite paying their overcharge prices, I discovered a dent near the lifting point on the driver's side and broken plastic clips on some engine lines (see photos attached). When I politely brought it up, the staff became aggressive, trying to shift blame rather than addressing the issue. The combination of service, delays, poor work quality, and unacceptable customer service makes me strongly advise against using this shop.

It was my first time coming to Pham's and I will definitely be back. Kyle and his brother were super nice and took great care of my car. So glad I found Pham's they do a stellar job with all your car needs and are super quick/efficient.
I had an absolutely terrible experience at this vehicle inspection shop today. The customer service was beyond disappointing— the staff had no sense of how to communicate with customers. Instead of assisting professionally, they were outright aggressive.
I have great appreciation for the team at Pham’s. They are incredibly friendly and offer excellent service. When I brought in my car with a broken suspension, they thoroughly checked everything, replaced the air spring, and did all the wheel alignments. I got my car back the next morning, and it drives super smoothly again. They charged me much less than the original estimate, which I believe shows their honest pricing based on actual costs.
I would highly recommend Pham’s. I first found them after I moved to the area a few years ago and got ripped off at my dealer’s service shop. After getting my car serviced here a few times and seeing them interact with other customers, I have found them to be very honest and would recommend them to anyone.

To help or fix the issue, they took our money and attempted to tell me to “pipe it down a notch” when I was upset about them not willing to help us or refund us on the issue that was supposed to resovled $400 later. They lied and neat around the bush telling me “we didnt know you wanted it to pass a safety check” Why would we pay all

Horrible absolutely horrible customer service they took our money. We spent almost $400 for them to do a diagnostic check. The lights were completely fixed after a week of driving it at all came back when talking to this man on the phone which supposedly was the owner he tried every trick in In the book to tell us that he didn’t know us for a diagnostic and refused to fix our car or give us a refund. Please do not take your car here they are scammers. We will definitely be filing a civil issue and reporting them.
Such a wonderful, family-owned business! Went in today for my Virginia Safety inspection, and was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. To my surprise, so was my dog, Bernie. I really appreciated how quickly and efficiently the test was completed, and Bernie really appreciated the attention and pets from the friendly owners. Thank you again for the wonderful and super convenient service!
This family run business has been taking care of our cars for over 20 years. They have kept our older cars safe and on the road and our newer cars like new.
They have always been completely honest in identifying the issues that MUST be done now to either a) prevent further damage later or b) to keep the car safe. But they also let us know of issues that are progressing, but don't need to be fixed at this time.
I have always felt like they are looking out for our best interest and they become a partner in the long-term care of your car.
We have recommended them to many other families who become long-term customers.
If you are new in the area, don't understand cars, or you value a long-term relationship that takes care of your car, this family of mechanics is for you.
Absolutely stellar customer service. I’ve been taking my 1999 Acura here for 8 years and they’ve kept it running beautifully. Their pricing is super fair, they’re always honest and straightforward, and get any work done really quickly.
Quick service for emissions and safety inspection. Dropped off at opening, two cars were complete in 1.5 hours.
Came back a week later for re-inspection and experienced the same quick service. Will definitely visit again.

My overall experience at Pham's was super fast and efficient. I came in for an emissions inspection and was out in less than 30 min. (morning on a Fri). I really appreciated the efficiency. Just make sure you bring cash.
No appointment needed for annual safety inspection. I dropped off my car. The nice woman said it would be ready within 45 minutes. She’d call me. I walked over to Clarendon to see which of the retail businesses and bars had closed. I got a call after 30 minutes to fetch the car. $20. Cash. I’m happy.
My car has had a few issues over the past 2 years: an oil leak, coolant leak, and a broken rim. I've taken it to Pham's for every repair and will continue to use them for future services. They've fixed everything in a timely manner and are always helpful and communicative. Their prices are very reasonable and better than some nearby competitors.
I've been to Pham's a few times now, and I love that they're a small, family-owned business. They're efficient, effective and honest. I appreciate their integrity and honesty the most since I'm no car guru myself. I had one of my headlights go out on my Subaru Outback, which is a more complicated fix than for many other vehicles (which I did know in advance). Pham's gave me the price in advance, and it felt fair since the labor was difficult. After replacing my headlight, the woman at the front desk told me that the labor was actually easier than expected and therefore charged me only half of the original price. They could have mentioned nothing and taken my money, and I wouldn't have known. But they took the high road and were transparent with me, a quality that I seek out in an auto repair shop. If you're looking for a shop you can trust, this is it.
My experience at Pham's was amazing. They made it so easy to get an inspection. They were also super friendly and easy to talk to and honest. They were able to take my car immediately. I was in and out in 10 minutes. I'll definitely return for other services.
An extremely transparent and honest family runs this place. I took my car to get a state inspection at a separate shop down the road and they quoted me over a grand to pass inspection. Not only did Pham’s ask me questions to ensure they were in compliance with the laws, they also talked me through each necessary repair to pass inspection. Additionally, they recommended optional repairs for no additional labor charge since they were already incurring labor. They truly try to keep the price reasonable. Not only did they do more work than the first shop quoted me at, but they charged less. Fantastic service! I will be a regular here!
Love these guys. Ive been taking my 2004 Mazda 3 there for 6 years now. The reason is they are honest. They would never try to scam you like so many mechanics in this area do. The quality of work and friendly atmosphere at the shop is also fantastic. Also their prices are super low!
I was really impressed with the service I received from here: efficient, honest and friendly; and they were careful to explain exactly (and patiently!) what was wrong with our (very old) Lexus and what needed to be done. I compared prices and services with three other local repair shops before we went ahead with the work and I am totally happy with what was offered here. They were all also incredibly sweet with my 13-month-old daughter, bringing out toys for her to play with whilst we waited. A great family business, highly recommended.
Best mechanics in the business! I've been a happy customer for over 15 years. They've kept all of my cars running like new and they can fix anything. Honda, Jeep, Mercedes, Toyota. My Honda has almost 200k miles and runs great. Family business... extremely honest, great people, great location in Arlington, Va.
