I've had numerous experiences with Southern Vermont Auto over the years they've been opened. They have always been honest and and easy to do business with. They communicate well about the work what their mechanics are doing on your vehicle. I always left their shop feeling good about the service I received. I definitely recommend them! Another awesome experience at Southern Vermont Auto! Heather does a great job caring for their customers. Really easy and honest people to do business with. Thanks again for everything you do!

Awesome folks at this family owned and operated repair shop. Honest, trustworthy and truly caring owners and staff. Don’t hesitate. They will do the job well and treat you right. Highly recommended.

The owner, Bud, is an abusive bully. He treated me like an unwelcome trespasser when I arrived in a tow truck with my car, because his service tech didn't alert him to my arrival. I had called in thirty minutes earlier to make sure they could take me. He then yells at his service tech in front of me, tries to upsell me unnecessary items, and then doesn't mention he runs the only taxi service in town as he watches me wait for an Uber that never comes. If I didn't need the car fixed ASAP to get to work, I would have gone literally anywhere else, that's how uncomfortable I felt after 5 minutes with Bud.

SVA have been great with service and customer service. Bud and his team are great. Highly recommend them.

My boyfriend and I got to Southern Vermont Auto whenever we have a vehicle problem, they are always great about trying to get us in quickly, and get it fixed. We’ve been there so much between a few vehicles that we know them on a first name basis, we appreciate the customer service and great job they do!

These guys give great service and do top notch work. I will use them again. I feel pricing and upfront quotes were done well.

They are knowledgeable and price fairly. The mechanic showed me exactly what the problem was, and gave me options for repairs. Would recommend and will be doing business with them in the future.

The thing that stood out the most was the professionalism of the tech. The repair was very timely and done right. If you need your vehicle repaired, this is the place to go. Edit: getting the car repaired was an ordeal. They dragged the repair on and on for months til finally i traded the vehicle in due to the vehicle being not trusted.

Good group of people between sales and service. Communication was great while going thru process off sale. Service techs took care of me when had a issue.

I have been going to SVA since 2019, I trust their honesty, integrity and service. I have had oil changes, brake service, and other maintenance services done on my leased vehicles. I would recommend them over a dealership for cost and trustworthiness

If I could give negative 100 stars I would. The owner is a 100 per complete. Rude disrespectful person he doesn't care that his driver's put a directional line to take a right and when another car is taking a left and then they turn around and take a left and try to hit that other car, he has no courtesy for safety whatsoever. His prices are absolutely absurd and outrageous his staff are. Are 100% completely rude and disrespectful, especially to the elderly. No consideration or respect for the public at all. And when you call to sit there and let them know he pretty much calls you a liar. And yet we want this person in our town to sit there and do have this business and run this business when they're in their most disrespectful. Person out there

Amazing service here. They are absolutely willing to help and provide the best service literally any time it is needed. They go out of their way to make sure that the customer is satisfied—and will alter their schedule accordingly to accommodate if there is an emergency. The patience and kindness of the front office is almost unmatched and she is literally the only person I have ever had the pleasure of being able to get the best deal possible and her patience, kindness, and support is unmet in the auto service industry. The work done is so worth the price (which is seriously impressive and very competitive because no other auto shop can compare in any way). Are the best in the region. Possibly anywhere. A unique place and a beautiful experience. Perfection.

This shop has been more than helpful. Words cannot explain how much they have helped me with my subaru! I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for a new ride! They keep to their word and have always went above and beyond. The staff is nice and the place is organized.

Moving back to my home state and re-establishing with a reliable and honest mechanic is always a concern. I feel, I have struck gold with the recommendations for this garage. I have had to have a few repairs since moving back and they are always timely, efficient, and stick to the issue and do NOT try to nickel and dime me. I feel beyond thankful for their service from the front desk to those working on the vehicles! Oh, and I have forgotten money in my car and that same money has remained in my car so honesty goes beyond repair!! Thank you guys!! The recommendation for your garage is much appreciated and I certainly pass along that recommendation to others!!!

my boss sent me here after my rant of needing new brake pads and rotors and how I needed reasonable prices that’s weren’t through the roof… he said the people there are great and they’ll take care of you so I made my appointment. Upon first glance i wasn’t sure where to park so I walked into the office and asked the first person I saw where I should go. They were kind enough to drive my car around where it should be parked. took about 2 and a half hours for brakes I have no complaints all went very smoothly and everyone is kind and personable. I will be coming here for my car maintenance from now on! you should too:)

My go-to mechanic for many years. Bud, Heather and the team have a history of strong customer service, trustworthy repairs and honest pricing (just like Steve and Mike did in the same spot years ago). Superior communication and easy to understand invoicing, especially through texting. They are always able to take a look and recommend the best action to keep your motor running, and I trust them to treat me and my family right. Ray is awesome, too! Thankful to have them in our community, and really like the warranty they provide for most services they complete.

Consistently top-notch service, both with the customers and with the engines! We have brought our two vehicles to the shop for the last several years and have never been disappointed! I had a custom exhaust done by them and my truck sounds amazing and they did a very good job they sealed the pipes perfectly so there is no leaks or ticks I definitely recommend them to everyone they are very good people and they care a lot about their customers. They are my go to shop from now on.

Honest and compassionate are the first two words I think of when I recall my experience here. The mechanic I worked with was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. For every question I had, there was an honest answer. He also was able to explain a little bit about what the parts I needed did for my vehicle. Recommended VS. required is a discussion this shop will have with you. My mechanic was in constant communication with me about what was needed to make my car run perfectly. The woman working the front of their shop is very knowledgeable as well. She was able to tell me the expectation of my car getting diagnosed and able to thoroughly answer any questions I had about my invoice. The quote was incredibly reasonable as well. Professionalism is a trait that every person I interacted with had mastered. Southern Vermont Automotive is a great choice for anybody looking for car repairs in Bennington.

These people are all amazing. I was traveling through from out of state and had an emergency with my truck. I made an appointment a few days before I get there and they had ordered the part I told them was broken (front axle) and they were able to put it in that day. Not not that, but I didn't have money in my bank and I qualified for financing for the repair so easily. And they did everything for a low price. They literally saved my life! Thank you!!!

Heather and Bud run a great business. They are wonderful people and very fair. I have been doing business with them for years now. I am always welcomed warmly and taken care of in the most respectful way. I know my car is safe and that I am not being ripped off. Heather and Bud have gone out of their way a few times to accommodate me. It is always greatly appreciated. Don't waste your time and money with other garages in the area. One of their mechanics, Ray, is a great guy - one of the nicest people ever.

My car has been serviced three times now for different problems. Each time they gave me an estimate before work was done. I have been pleased with the work they did. I would recommend them to my relatives and friends. Heather is pleasant to deal with when you call.

Great experience all around! Super easy appointment request on their website, with quick response to confirm and quote out the work I needed done. (I needed front brakes, rotors, and ebrake adjustment, along with new spark plugs.) Work was done in timely manner. Felt super welcome, and not over priced. With a great easy to read breakdown of all cost, before and after the service. Will definitely recommend anyone needing their car serviced.
