What clients say about Utah Pic A Part in Orem (UT)
Carlos is the best guy down there. Knowledgeable and willing to answer even the simplest of questions without hesitation. Very fair and honest about pricing. I wasn't sure how things worked at the yard or where to go and he pointed me in the right direction making my experience as painless as possible. If you need something regardless how small he is your guy!
I got some wheels and tires from here. when I asked the front desk if they would fit my car, they told me yes. the next day after buying them, I went to go put them on my car, they were slightly smaller than they needed to be. I called back and asked for a refund/exchange. they were very hesitant and blamed me saying I take all responsibility for the items after they are bought, yet the only reason I bought them was because they told me they were correct. they eventually agreed to an exchange. and I came in about 2 days later. and the kid working the front desk tried lying to me saying that he told me on the phone that I could only do the exchange the same day I called them. I called bs and told him he never said that. they got a couple more people involved, I had to convince them, but they finally let me do the exchange. yet they were passive aggressive the whole time and visibly acting annoyed and acting like I was the issue, when it was their fault for giving me the wrong info. do not come here. they are very very very overpriced and very rude. you can get the same exact parts for half the price at other junkyards
I’ve come to like this yard less over the past few months… loved the place 4 years ago when I first moved down here but more recently I have had repeat bad experiences. if you pull a part and take it to the front and they have no idea what it is they will guess. Even if you tell them what it is they will guess and disregard anything you tell them… if it isn’t in their computer database of parts they will just find something in the computer and decide that’s what it is regardless of if it’s worth that or not. front desk doesn’t know anything about the vehicles in the yard and they are kinda rude. This use to be my first pick for yards around here but not so much anymore. For example A while ago I got a used set of door catches (desk didn’t know what they were) and they wanted to charge me for door hinges which are worth substantially more. Regardless of me pointing out that at that price a door catch is cheaper to buy new because it isn’t a door hinge. So I told them to keep the part. Went back today pulled a set of camber arms off a civic. They again had no clue what they were (front desk: just charge it as a control arm) so they did. I can buy the camber arm new for less than a used control arm because they ARE NOT THE SAME THING. And I told them that. So I walked out after telling them to keep the parts. I’m not going to pay $70 for a used part when I can buy it new for $50 because they don’t know anything and won’t listen to you as a customer when you try to make an honest deal with them. Crap like this is what makes people walk out of yards with parts stuffed in their pants. I use to love going to this yard all the time… I find myself not wanting to go to it now and when I do go now it usually is a mediocre experience.
First of all, you have to pay five dollars to get in there. I feel like I’m paying them to sell me something. Second all I gotta pull my own part, I can deal with that.. Go up to their ONE cashier.LONG LINE! Anyway, tell them I need to pay for this I need to pay for this and that. So I have to remove some parts off my because they charge for each item separately. Cashier is on his phone texting. So I gotta leave and I get stopped and, they tell me I didn’t pay for the AC condenser. Yeah, that’s what happens when you get on the phone and don’t listen to your customers. So I go backTHEY WANT ME TO GET BACK TO THE END OF THE LINE! Then they acuse me of not telling them about the ac condenser (basically stealing)!! So the supervisor lady with the tattoos on her neck, her best answer is Get back to the end of the line. I could have bought all this online , but the old folks I was helping , needed their car.running. The hell with PYP
Options galore. Maybe not some of the latest models, because calling in or stopping by to check vehicle model availability would be best. Purchased a couple of batteries last year that are still working strong. Know your parts and part numbers that your are looking for. Though, the parts counter guys are pretty knowledgeable.
Julio is a person who does not have any kind of education, is disrespectful to customers and feels like the owner of the place. It's not the first time I've had problems with this person and I've just witnessed one more disrespect from him and the managers don’t care Hopefully the owners will check the negative comments that this place is having thanks to him and the damage that this employee is causing and will cause to this business. What a shame
I asked the price before take the parts and after get all of them they changed all the prices ( I am not talking about taxes I am talking about the item price) and I wasted my time, if they see that you are interested they just change it and don’t care about it.
I’ve come here for over 15 years. But the employees have progressively become worse and worse. They’re unknowledgeable, unhelpful, disrespectful, and like to price gouge. Tear a Part, Pull n Save, Pick n Pull, or literally anywhere else is recommended over these guys.
Probably have my part, but they’re terrible at answering or returning calls. I’ve called several times and got them to answer once. And she said she’d have whoever call me back. Never called. I tried several more times over the weeks, to no avail.
Don't sell your junk cars here they'll pay you the same or less than if to took it to the scrap recycling yard 70$ use an online service 450$. if you need parts go to state street wrecking this place sucks
Carlos is always quick and efficient! Best part is he speaks Spanish! Love this yard and I’ll be back again and again!
Don’t trust the website! The picture of the car we were looking for did not look even close to the car in person. The website said it would be $50 but in person it was $85. Not worth it.
• 👍 Good variety of Parts (Be careful if you search the inventory online, call in and ask if it’s a “Premium Part” you’ll most likely be paying more than it’s worth but it fully depends on if it inside the vehicle and if the vehicle is covered. • 👍 Fast and easy waiver set-up •👎 Very limited parking space (the upside is it’s a public road and can be parked on) • 👎 Not-So-Good Customer Service (as you’ll see with most recent reviews we all had the same experience with the lady at the front desk lol, but honestly we all have those bad days and you never know what people are going through so I was ok • 👎 Part Pricing (I fully understand charging more for their “premium” vehicles but it doesn’t feel right paying that much when you’re taking on 100% liability. If the business had at least 30 day warranty on all premium parts sold I wouldn’t mind paying that much) My Experience: I went in looking to get the passenger seatbelt for the 2017 Chrysler 300, when I asked for the pricing they wanted $45 not including “taxes & fees”. I later got a Genuine OEM replacement for just $80 taxes fees and shipping. AGAIN it all depends on the part and the car, you might find a better deal than I had. 🤝
I've had decent experiences at this business. There is one thing that grinds my gears and it's the woman at the front desk. She is rude, has terrible social skills and quite frankly am surprised she still has a job. Maybe has things going on in her personal life but is extremely unpleasant to interact with. If you have a question, good luck. She will give you the look of death if you ask her to do her job. I will. Ever return to this place. Front desk employees suxk
Julio was the best! He answered my questions and helped me carry my parts to my car. They have a great selection of cars.
I went to the pick a part in Orem and they are the worse I called them up a couple months ago wanting to sell my car to them and told them I had a lien release and they said that it would be fine I also told them that it would have to be towed and they said no problem and told me how much they would give me so I brought it to them than they decided they needed the title so I had to go to the dealership and request a title so it came in the mail and I bring them up the title and than after going all the way up their they decided that they haven’t towed cars in 6 months even though they told me twice that they did when I asked I would never be going to this place again they are rude and all they do is lie to you
Had a good experience here. Youngest guy at the counter went out of his way to help me with looking through the premium lot, and was very kind and helpful. Found the parts I needed for my Cummins. Would come back.
The girl with the long nails at the front desk is completely rude and unprofessional. She's full of vague answers. Not very good for your business. I will not be returning because of her.
Always a great selection, reasonable pricing, about the same as new except you don’t have to pay shipping and wait for delivery, plus you get some practice, and they warranty pretty much everything. Their customer service is some of the best in Utah, they recognize their regulars, and have a great system. Only wish they’d pay a little more for the junkers I’ve sold them but hey, that’s business. I’d go out of my way to give them my business any day.
They had 3 out of the 4 parts I was looking for, for 1/2 the price of the other larger yard in town. Just a $1 entry fee (which is also 1/2 that of the other place). People are pretty laid-back and willing to help. I will be coming back here again when I need parts.
Been going here for about 8 years. Used to love it but the new management has gotten greedy. Here is what I love and hate about this place now. *CONS:* - *Hardly any warranties or part exchanges on any of the parts.* If there is the option for a warranty, they charge you a decent amount for it. Most other junkyards will include a warranty/exchange within 30 days of purchase for free. Saw another customer get frustrated because he spent 3 hours pulling an engine only to find out if it doesn't work, he just bought a $300 paper weight. - *Parts are pricey.* Went there for a coil pack the other day. Coil pack was the same price as a new one (roughly $30) and warranty was extra $$. - *These guys will NOT haggle on price.* They would rather lose a sale and tell you to toss your part in the scrap bin rather than discount a part a couple bucks. Sometimes can get them to go lower on price if the part is damaged but it depends on who you get at the counter. - *Management is rude.* Hardly any customer service anymore. Have probably sold 10 cars to these guys over the last 8 years of going there. Pick a Part always offered decent amounts. Last car I took there was my little brother's car and it was complete in running, driving condition, just older. We agreed on a price over the phone and we drove the car down. Manager was very rude when going through the process. He was looking at the car and was calling it a POS to my face and would not pay agreed price due to the fenders being a different color than the rest of the car and the radio missing. They offered $300 on the phone, and he said he will take it for $150 due to the mismatched color fenders and radio. Went to another junkyard who picked up the car for $350 and they towed it. Pick a part just wasted my time. - *No sales or promotional offers* - *Upped the age limit from 16 years old to 18 years old.* My little bro is becoming a car enthusiasts who likes to work on his own car. He can't even get into this junkyard with me anymore. *Hardly any carts/wheel barrows to roll your parts around on.* If there are any carts in the yard, they are scattered in random places and you have to find them. PROS: - *Decent selection of cars.* Usually can find the car I need parts off of. - *Entrance fee is $1 per person.* Most places usually change $2-$3. - *One of the few junkyards in Utah County.* That being said, I don't go to this junkyard much anymore. Not a very pleasant experience and would rather drive a little farther. *Id prefer going to State Street Auto Wrecking in Provo or Pull-N-Save in Springville.* If you are looking for a great deal on parts, I'd recommend State Street Auto Wrecking. Management is awesome and will give you a deal on parts. If you are looking for a very clean and organized place with all the amenities, warranties and part exchanges, I'd recommend Pull-N-Save. They are always having sales and promotional offers as well.
I like this place, but it bothers me that they haphazardly take the more sought after parts from cars and sell them online. the premium lot also bugs me too. prices are good and the staff are also, but those two problems irk me more.
Ed worked diligently to take care of me and give a good price for the car I was junking. I was really impressed with his customer service, and felt like he went above and beyond to help me out of a bad situation. I've bought parts from the yard here before, and had a great experience then too. Would highly recommend whether you are junking a car, or looking for parts.
Don't bother with this place. Prices are too high. Just get your parts used on ebay.. most stuff is double the price.. also the dumb children that run this place are rude and ignorant.. if you must get parts asap from a wrecking yard there is much better places than this in utah. Worth the drive away from here.
I've been going to pic A part for over 10 years. I've been fixing cars a long time and these guys are doing it right. Great manager who makes everything run smoothly. Always Quality used parts at a great deal I might add. I'll never go any where else.
Don’t buy their rims or wheels Pic A Part sold me 4 rims , one of the rims had a slight problem that could not be seen. The problem was clearly identified after having the wheels rebalanced 3 times. Furthermore I had to buy spacers to make the rims fit over the break caliper($200 Wasted). I called Pic A Part spoke to Daniel about my situation, Daniel was not professional , he blamed me for faulty rims and said the 3 day return period had pass and ended the call abruptly. Don’t buy from Pic A Part they sell defective parts.State street auto wrecking in Provo is better than Pic A Part, this lot has a 30 day return policy, no fee to enter their lot and their parts are better priced!
Great customer service, great prices. I checked around for a replacement headlight with the other used parts companies in the area. One company had no matching part, the other wanted almost triple the amount I paid here, and the lens had a BB hole in it. Fast and easy to work with and their prices were awesome. Thanks!
Awful front desk employees. I bought a switch for $25, I thought that was more than they told me on the phone so I looked it up on their website which listed the switch at $5.50. I bought it back in after 2 minutes of looking up the price, showed the guy at the counter their listed price and he said that he didn't care what their site said. I asked to return it and he refused to give my money back. He was extremely unprofessional and rude. Its not the only time I have had a bad experience at Pic A Part, I thought they would weed out their poor employee selections, but I guess the management doesn't understand who keeps them in business. I won't be coming back, it's better to deal with people of integrity than insulting proud liars.
Fair prices, just wish they had told us there was a week wait for a tow truck...
Utah Pic a Part is my go to location for auto repair parts. They don’t always have every vehicle, but they do have an excellent selection of vehicles. Some people may not like having to extract the parts yourself, but I appreciate the chance to “practice” working on a car before doing the real job. Plus the added benefit of getting the exact parts I need for a very discounted price. Sometimes you just need some lug nuts, a certain bolt or hose, or a belt. I have rarely walked out of the yard without exactly what I needed. Highly recommend.
