I was scammed, don’t recommend. I took a pick up truck bed and a refrigerator in the trailer. I had to get it out of my yard per the landlord. I don’t know if any other places to take scrap metal to. They gave me $25 and tried to tell me that the bed was made out of TIN, I told them Pickup Beds are made out of steel and he looked at me like I was dumb and said sorry that’s what it pays, although I know this was a scam there’s nothing I can do about it I can’t force them to put it back on the trailer and I’m pretty sure that they will charge me to do so. I just rented a trailer for 50$ to get 25$! THATS BULLSHIT PPL BEWARE, Pretty damn sure it wouldn’t have happened to a man! WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE TREATED LIKE THIS!!!!
Drove 40 miles to get there, was told at 4:40 that you have to be on the scale at 4:30 or they won’t accept you, had 4 tons of metal I took back home and dumped in a hole.
I had an aluminum pie plate in with my cans which I thought was acceptable and the man was very rude and ripped my bags open and proceeded to tell me I would have to take them home and go through all of them as they wouldn’t take them. I have NEVER had my bags torn open and went through before. There is usually always a nice Hispanic man there. This was a rude white man!!!! I will go elsewhere from now on!!!
Internet advertisement said closes at 12 Saturday. Drove out 10$ of gas to be there 0n scales at 11:45. Girl said have to be checked in by 11:30 . Told girl of 12noon advertisement,
Her reply was, "that's not our adv. ,Don't know who's that is!

Been using this Recycler for several years. Have been pretty good in the past as I processed about 10. 20' Trailer loads of scrap with no issues except lack of customer care or compassion and some questionable pay-outs. Now, my last two trips were rejected for Radiation detection. Both times I have tested the loads with my own detector (which is very good/sensitive) and no Radiation is present. The first load said to be hot I took it home dug all through it and and I tested it. I found nothing and I took it back and it went through fine. The next load I took I had pre-tested it and it was ok; however, they said it was hot. Obviously their Radiation Detector is shot or they do not understand what the readings from the device... I am done now with them and have taken this load to Center "Loop 500 Salvage". As expected the load was fine and there were no issues. They were kind and helpful and fair, I will no longer waste my time going to Carthage Metal Recycling. I do not recommend them at all.
Up until this week it has been a descent experiance for me. I had less than 100 pounds of wire instead of telling me about it they took 50 dollars the next day they said my load was hot I took it to Jennings and they said my load was fine I made 128 bucks 8 per 100 Carthage was rude and disrespectful I will never go there again
