They are the best mechanic we've found in Lubbock! It's been difficult to find a mechanic who services foreign cars in Lubbock. We've used them twice now, and they've been responsive, honest & reasonable in pricing. My only regret is that we didn't find them sooner.
If you're looking for a reputable, honest, and communicative mechanic in Lubbock, look no further than Prock Automotive! I'm a bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to my car, and brought it in over a small noise that it had started making. The first time I brought it in, they fixed my A/C up (for a reasonable price) since it hadn't been functioning at 100%, but the noise was still there. Brought my car back in to have it looked over more thoroughly; after inspecting the underside they adjusted my brake pads, but couldn't find anything to be concerned about! They returned my car to me free of charge, despite taking out time to replicate the sound I had noticed, check for any visible issues, adjust what they could, and test it again to ensure that the adjustment helped.
My car had to be kept at the shop for a couple of days due to the volume of jobs they had, but they still took time to get my car looked at as quickly as they could! I greatly appreciate their communication with me, as they kept track of the status of my car and happily gave me updates each time I called about it. I was worried that calling each day would be bothersome, but I was always met with friendliness and knowledge about what exactly had been done with my car since the last time I called. I will be coming back after this experience, not just for the honesty they approached the job with, but also for the excellent customer service!
I have been dealing with Prock Automotive for around 20 years. I feel that they are very fair and very qualified. Not many places can you drop your car off and feel confident about the service and the bill. I really appreciate the interaction I get from Joel and the rest of the mechanics and service advisors. Prock auto charged me 1500 for an issue. When I picked up my car, it had the exact same issue. They did not bother to take the car for a test drive to see if the issue was solved after fixing it - poor business practice! I talked to a few 3rd party mechanics and they all said that the replacements done on the receipt were not relevant to the issues my car had.
Took the car back under warranty on the receipt. They now say it's a different issue and wanna charge me 2200 more for something else that might possibly solve the original issue. I talked to a few other mechanics about this and they agreed that the original 1500 charge had nothing to do with the issues my car had. No remedy was offered to me about the situation.
What a scummy shop!
I am a college student with only one car, so when it broke down I panicked. The folks at Prock helped me get it towed to their shop and got it in and fixed very quickly! The price was fair, and I had a great experience. I highly recommend this shop to anyone!
I needed a very simple repair that they said would take about an hour unless they found something else.First they lost their work ticket, then they said something had eaten the coolant hose. I had put those hoses on the Saturday before they got the car on Tuesday. Something in their shop ate the hose.
I shared a review previously about our experience with Prock and deleted it because they made things right. My first review was posted way too prematurely and I hope there are no hard feelings. Prock has been around for decades and there is a reason. Customer satisfaction. It's inevitable and fact that anyone who owns a car will, someday, have "issues". Give them a try! The staff is super nice and polite and want you to get back on the road as soon as possible. Kudos to Eddie for being so professional.
I cannot say enough about the service, quality and fair pricing! Last week was extremely cold and we had 7.2 inches of recorded snow at the airport. I went out to my admittedly older car about 6:30 am to warm it up when lo and behold, no heater. It would blow but there was no heat at all. I called the place I have taken my car to in the past and they told me it was the heater core and it would be $1,400.00, sight unseen. After calming down, I called around and Prock Auto was willing to diagnose the problem, call me before any repairs were started and get me in on the same day. On a freezing and snowy day, Eddie was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Turns out it was a thermostat issue and they flushed the heater core. They had it out the very next day and it didn't cost anything near what I had been quoted by a place I previously trusted. Eddie even showed me what a heater core looked like before and after having it flushed. Car trouble is one of the worst troubles to have, especially if you are a single woman, but Prock Auto, and Eddie's incredible customer service, made the bad situation tolerable and it was at an honest and fair price. I highly recommend them when your car is misbehaving!!!
Full engine replacement, electrical cable replacement, starter replacement. These guys are awesome!!! 10k of work, major overhaul on our RAM truck and we couldn’t be happier. Eddie is awesome!! Great work, great customer service. Highly recommend Prock!!!!!
My car was in the shop because my clutch went out they had it fixed in no time and the price was fair. I had done some research and learned how difficult it was going to be because it is a fwd car so I was pleasantly surprised at how fast they got it done and the price for labor. Will be bringing it back if anything else comes up thank you guys at prock yall are great!!!!
Hands down best place for HONEST & fair prices, EXCELLENT customer service, and GREAT work. I was in desperate need of a good mechanic. I have taken my car to a few other places in the past and have been so devastated with the results, (either the price was crazy expensive or the work was terrible), that I was so nervous to take it anywhere. But after many hours of reading reviews and alot of phone calls I reluctantly decided to take her to Prock Automotive. BEST decision ever!!! Eddie was so kind and gracious! He let me know my options, gave me his professional and personal recommendation, and patiently let me decide on what issue to deal with first. All of that for the best price I could find. No kidding. My car is running so much better and now I will ONLY take her to Prock Automotive. THANK Y'ALL!!!!!!
Very satisfied with my experience with Prock. We called several shops in search of brake repair, and found Prock's prices to be very fair. They repaired the brakes and kept us updated with pricing and further necessary repairs, so no surprises on the bill. Friendly, accommodating staff. Would recommend this business to friends and family.
It is with deep regret to come to this conclusion of writing a negative review regarding the
reprehensible work ethics performed by your employee Eddie, and the unprofessionalism of
miscommunication, including his lacking ability to communicate with his upper management in
regards to our needs that were not met at a fair rate in pricing.
Prior to the 4th of July Holiday, on Friday July 1, 2022, I made a call to Procks Automotive with
the need of helping my son, who currently, is a Student at Texas Tech. Currently, my son has an
issue with his 2014 Chevrolet Camaro RS vehicle.
Unfortunately, his A/C is not working properly, due to an A/C Compressor. As a parent, and a
Use Car Automotive Dealer/Business Owner, I contacted Procks Automotive and spoke to
Eddie regarding this issue. I identified myself as a Business Owner in the Used Car Industry. In
addition, ***I informed Eddie/Service Advisor, that I have mailed my son via UPS a
Remanufactured AC Compressor, and all I need is the installation of the AC Compressor
and Freon to get the AC Recharged. Eddie spoke with me ACCEPTED TO TAKE THE JOB
and FINALIZED a PRICE for this job to be $350.00, with tax included.
After speaking to Eddie/Service Advisor, he promised me that they will start working on my son’s
car effective immediately after the Holiday on July 5, 2022, and have it ready for delivery for my
son to pick up. In addition, I asked Eddie to work on a better price for me ;nevertheless, he
informed me that his manager just left for the day; but he will speak to him on Tuesday, after the
Holiday, on giving me a discount. Eddie NEVER called me to discuss any discount on pricing,
nor did they ever get started on fixing the issue on my son’s car. I called on Wednesday July 6,
2022, to see if the car was completed, Eddie informed me that they were backed up and have
not yet started on resolving the issue on my son’s 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, nor has he spoken
to his manager. Today is July 8, 2022, I called Procks Automotive and spoke to Eddie/Service Advisor regarding my son's vehicle, checking to see the trajectory completion of the work, regarding the A/C. Eddie informed me that they would get started with installing the A/C Compressor today. Later in the afternoon, Eddie called me to inform me that they don't install Remanufactured Parts, which forces me to buy Brand New Part for $452.00, which he ordered from Adelco. In return, I spoke to Eddie and informed him that I will call him in 1 hour pending the approval from my son. Later we moved forward and had no choice but to accept the expensive part quoted by Eddie. Later in 1 hour, Prock Automotive called us saying that we need to pay $1,000 more due to a A/C Condenser. I'm sure that many parents who have students that attend Texas Tech can relate to how I feel . The Weather Forecast Reports 100-105 Degrees Weather for the entire week, and prior weeks. Although A/C is a serious issue here in Texas, Prock Automotive finds pleasure in taking advantage of the students at Texas Tech, and they take advantage of increasing their prices , robbing so many people and taking advantage of the weather as a reason for high prices. I made a strong effort speaking to Eddie regarding the additional $1,000 increase. He informed me that the part of the A/C Condenser cost $378, and Labor cost $608. Prock Automotive Repair is charging my son $1,848.99 for a simple A/C Repair that cost average $200-$300 max. After taking my call, Eddie knew that I mailed a remanufactured A/C Compressor part. He knew every detail about the vehicle ;however, he waited until the last minute to inform me that they don't install parts purchased by customers. I am highly disappointed at the services rendered at Prock Automotive Repair. Prock Automotive is a serious Rip off. I DON'T RECONMMEND ANYONE IN THE PRESENT OR FUTURE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I ASK EDDIE TO GIVE ME THE NAME OF THE MANAGER , AFTER GIVING ME THE NAME, I ASKED HIM TO SPELL THE LAST NAME, HE REFUSED TO SPELL IT OR REITERATE THE NAME. AT THIS TIME, I REALIZE THE DISHONEST BEHAVIOR .

SUPER FAST communications and replies to my questions and always have the time to service my vehicle. (GOT IN) Easy to work with. Very competitive prices. I’ve never had a problem with these guys. When I did, (no fault of theirs), they took care of me. I like taking in my ‘91 Celica into them because I know they’ll always be quick. Recently did a timing belt job, and for some reason my back window was slashed—they referred me to a local shop and are covering the costs. I honestly wasn’t expecting that, but happy they’re honest and upfront—all without telling you that “you need XYZ.”
They are top-notch and I recommend 100%.

My car had bottomed out on a speed bump or otherwise. I went to Volvo first to get an invoice of the repairs needed (as the ac was broken, and the charge pipe was damaged causing a rough idle). I handed the invoice to the guys at prock and they found issues that the Volvo tech hadn't even found/mentioned. They care about making sure to give a thorough and complete inspection, and they will let you know what needs to be fixed. They only used oem parts because they care about quality. This is now my #1 car repair place , I will take my Volvo here every time now. It can be a bit pricy (which is expected for European cars) but it is well worth it (and it beats dealer rates). COMMUNICATION! I'm a college student and these guys were constantly relaying information to me and my mother in Austin, I couldn't recommend a more honest and trustworthy shop. Prock Auto for the win European car friendly!
Prock was incredibly polite from the beginning. My car was having troubles starting so they removed and replaced the ignition switch. This, unfortunately, was not the sole reason of the problems as the car still wouldn't start every time. Because there was more to be done, they went in depth on my vehicle, digging around and maneuvering just to locate the source of the issue. They didn't even charge me for labor after the first visit. Sean (I believe was his name) walked me through step by step the process they underwent and kept me fully informed the whole time. Now my car is working exactly as it should and it's all thanks to Prock.
I would not go to them again. I was charged 800 total... only 250$ for parts. 550$ for labor! When I got my car out of the shop they hadn't fixed it properly so I had to bring it back in, and miss more work. Finally they got it fixed, yet my car still came out with the check engine light on, even after I asked them to make sure there were no more problems with it before returning it to me.
I tend to be a bit apprehensive when it comes to mechanics due to past experiences, but I have had great experiences with Prock Automative. Shaun was incredibly helpful during my time in Lubbock. He quoted me fair prices and was extremely patient with me. Even after I moved to FL, he did his best to assist me by answering my numerous calls and getting me the information I needed. I am grateful for this shop and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.
ALWAYS honest and willing to go the extra 100 miles for their customers. ALWAYS! We drive from Post to use Prock. It's difficult to find an Automotive garage that doesn't RIP you off. And if they don't know the answer, they will find it for you. If you live in the Lubbock area, Prock is really the only garage you should go to!
After my local Jeep dealer messed up an oil change (let me drive away 1.5 quarts low), I took my car to Prock to pay them to tell me whether the $5,000 in work quoted by the dealer was indeed necessary. Nope--got new brakes with one rotor and a front end alignment (why did the dealer change my tires and not warn me?) all for $600. I'm so happy--just sad that I don't live in Lubbock. These guys are honest and good at what they do.
This past Friday, I took my car in for corrective maintenance. Much to my surprise, Mr Prock assessed the issue as minor and fixed car on the spot. Bottom line - Prock Automotive is competent, professional, and ethical. Prock Automotive has my strongest possible recommendation for all auto repairs. You can't do better elsewhere!
My wife and I had a to make an 8-hour round trip to Lubbock and back yesterday. We noticed a serious problem with my truck, an older F150, as we arrived into town. I called and explained our circumstances and that we had a four-hour drive back home. They prioritized us and got us back on the road within 3 hours after dropping the truck off. Phenomenal service and excellent work. My truck runs better than it has in years.

The work was fine, but they did not give me any heads up on how steep the prices were going to be.
Went in expecting to pay one price and they charged me over 6X that initial quoted price. I added on a fuel filter change to my oil change and they went and replaced more than necessary without even the slightest notification. Will definitely not be going back to this shop, not for an oil change, not mechanic work, nothing.
Best service ever! Grandma drove in to Lubbock to visit and was afraid she'd be stranded. Other shops were to busy to even look at her car on a weekend but Prock not only looked but Fixed everything! Honest and great work!
These guys were really awesome. My car wasn't starting, and they sent a tow truck out really quickly. They were very helpful and didn't try to take advantage of the obvious fact that I had never dealt with a mechanic before. They did a very good job.
