I have had no problems with them. Except for a couple times they shocked me. The last time I took time and trouble getting good red copper out of motors. Even had the motors where you can see where I took the copper out of them. They was trying to tell me that it was not copper it was aluminum. I'll argued with them. Explaining that the only metal wiring used in motors copper only works. So it has to be copper. I'll give them a one star because they take scrap and s&s don't. Next time take my business to s&s. People told me how this place could be shafty. Now I know. I lost good money with those people that day. Will not recommend them to nobody.
I had about 2 tons of steel cable. I should have just went to the place I normally go. They gave me 4 cents per pound. Called to see if a mistake had been made cause the receipt just didn't seem right. Said its classified as unprepared rebar. Not worth fighting them over it but I would avoid this place. Reading alot of other comments they are below average prices. Can't say they are intentionally scamming people but I most certainly feel scammed.
Just going to post how had deductions for water (on a rainy day) and not long ago was deducted for dirt, we don't even load iron from muddy areas or drive trailers thru the mud to cake up any dirt or sod of any kind... Never had any deductions like this anywhere else. Also when unloading iron, it is sooo dangerous how not even 15 ft from passenger side of truck they are smashing metal with excavator the same exact time we are prepping trailer to be unloaded. Im pretty sure OSHA and/or safety precautions should come into play here. Other than that I am thankful they are so close,..

Me and my husband pulled in with scrap iron, they told us " We will not buy anything from you," without any explanation. There was no response to my review I posted earlier. Everything I said was exactly how I wrote it. I'm really surprised that a business approached us in such an unprofessional manner. What is it Orange Recyclers became upset about? The pure fact they take deductions for water and dirt, and without notifying the sellers (ex- the public) is nothing less than theft, or is it the fact that their practice of safety puts everyone in danger. I have the right to voice the facts of how my business experience occurred, also I have the right to voice my concerns for my safety and the safety of others at this business. My opinion after all of this, the manner in which they practice business ethics, 0 stars, no recommendation for others to bring business here.

Try this fairly new business in Orange. It's located on Hwy 62 just north of I-10. I had some scrap soda cans and decided to check them out. I was very impressed with experience. The folks who unloaded my car were friendly and helpful. Heads up if its your 1st time there you it will rake a few minutes to get your information and get put into their system. Once your in their system the process is much faster. I actually made 4 trips with cans... I had more than I thought. The lady at the payment window was nice and friendly. I would recommend you give them a try. The prices they offer seemed to me to be competitive. They post the prices on their website so you can check before you go.
Place is nice compared to the few I've been to in the past. Needed to get rid of a bunch of batteries and metal junk but Im not sure about the prices. Here's the facts in the photo.
3 Stars basically because they are the closest to Louisiana open on Saturday. I have felt slighted somewhat on the prices given here. Never the weight though. Several times I have called and S&S will pay significantly more than these guys. Generally I can't tell if they are nice or not because I can't understand them half the time. The other half seem to know what they're doing anyway. The guy in the box was patient with me. I had to get the new little card they require.
Anyhow, clean place.

But call ahead for pricing, unless it's Saturday and you're coming from 'round my way. And it wouldn't hurt a fella to take a Spanish as a Second Language course or Rosetta Stone if you plan to do business here frequently.
Lowest prices across the board!I took in some#1 copper and bare bright and they only paid#1 prices also only 6.50 on shred everyone else pays 7.50! I like that they are open on Saturday but I'll stick with the big boys! They are just a middle man.
I went to this place for a whole year and I’ve never made over a hundred buck with my big trailer , but when I went to J 3 I made 200 or more per day , just on mixed metal and then when I reduce my trailer size down my price went to 60- 80 bucks per loads . I got fed up and went back to j3 . Now I’m seeing with my little bitty trailer, 150-200 per load. Stop Ripping off your customers . You guys are scammers. Regular washers are 150 or more front loader are 200 or more cast iron tubs are 420-500 pounds side by side fridges are 300-350 riding mower are 500- 650 in pounds dryer 100. People do your research and check the weight of your products. These prople want to keep you struggling and breaking your backs for chump changes. Weight Sliders -160 pounds is what you do

This has never happened an the yard boss is the one who makes decisions an price on prescise metals ...I am always cheated , only gives #2 prices for #1 copper, an diggs through my aluminum always dusguarding the fact it is the right materials ...,He Always digs through even the shred I bring trying to hold back anything he can ...... This became aware to me after the 2 trips ..... Instead of understanding my side if this situation, they continue to allow this man to screw ppl .over an over ... In today's times we are all struggling with the prices we are paying on everything , This guy continues to take my money .....

This place is a joke and all they do is rip people off. You bring aluminum cans and aluminum foil in with ur cans they say its not aluminum and they like ripping people off
