The most unprofessional towing business! Double paid on accident and called to get a refund and they said it was fine. It’s been a week later and they haven’t sent anything and are refusing to send the refund back. I spoke to Felipe (owner) and Issac. Very unprofessional!

Absolutely the worst and most unprofessional experience we’ve ever had.‼ My grandmother and cousin had to fly all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to Edinburg, Texas because this company refused to work with us over the phone. Airplane tickets weren’t cheap, and my grandmother, who suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s, should not have been traveling or exposed to that kind of stress. We explained her condition, but the staff was dismissive and rude. They never even contacted us to tell us where the vehicle was. We had to find out through the dealership that Interstate Towing and Recovery had it. Every time we called, the man in charge was extremely rude, hung up on us, and refused to give us even a price over the phone. He told us we had to come in person, which forced us to make that difficult trip. When we got there, the office was sketchy and unprofessional — nothing like a proper business. We were told multiple times to come back because he had “just left” or was supposedly picking up a car, only for him to return hours later with no vehicle. We spent over $180 on Uber rides back and forth just to be told different excuses. When he finally spoke to us, he insisted only my grandmother could go inside his so-called “office,” even though we explained she has dementia and that we had legal papers showing we must accompany her. He ignored everything we said, shut the door in our face, and locked it. That was incredibly disrespectful and unsafe. Then came the most shocking part: he demanded over $9,000 for a car that hasn’t even been in the yard for one month. This is a complete abuse of Texas law, which caps storage at around $22 per day plus a small impound fee. Demanding $9,000‼ is outrageous, predatory, and nothing but taking advantage of families. This entire process has been abusive, unprofessional, and hostile. No family should ever have to go through this, especially not dragging a sick elderly woman across states just to be treated with such disrespect.

Super unprofessional. Been calling all morning to get info on a vehicle that was towed and apparently their working hours are a lie. Just trying to charge more money and scam people. Your towing company is a joke. One star is too much it should be 0 stars

This has been the most unprofessional company I’ve ever encountered. They fail to answer phone calls and do not adhere to their stated business hours. Payment options are limited to cash or cashier’s checks, yet they only disclose the invoice amount in person. It’s hard to imagine why any city would want to associate with a business like this. If you ever have to deal with this towing company, prepare yourself for an incredibly frustrating experience.

URGENT: Edinburg Residents, Please Be Aware! I’m reaching out to bring attention to a situation that is not only frustrating but also seems to be a clear violation of the City of Edinburg’s rules and regulations. Interstate Towing & Recovery is one of the wrecker services that volunteered to be on the City of Edinburg Police Department’s wrecker rotation list, agreeing to charge the rates outlined in the city's ordinance. However, it’s obvious that they are NOT following these set rates. You can view the maximum rates that are supposed to be adhered to under Chapter 118 of the City’s Code of Ordinances on the official website: City of Edinburg Code of Ordinances. Here’s what happened to us: Yesterday, during the storm, our car stalled while waiting in line at De La Vina School to pick up kids. The battery went completely dead. My husband waited for a friend to help, and in the meantime, Edinburg PD called Interstate Towing to remove the car because it was in a hazardous location. Once the battery was charged and my husband returned to put it back into the car, Interstate Towing had already towed it, and their office had already closed for the day. Less than 24 hours later, we were told we had to pay a $490 fee to get the car back – and they refuse to allow us to put the battery on the car at their location. We’re being told it has to be towed again! This is outrageous! They are clearly taking advantage of the situation and charging far above what is allowed by the City of Edinburg's established rates. City of Edinburg, is this the type of wrecker service you want on your rotation list? They agreed to follow the city's maximum rates, but they are clearly not doing so! Please take action to protect the residents of Edinburg from businesses that are abusing their power in this way. Avoid hiring this towing company, They will give you an estimate that is very different from what they will actually charge you. Once you are in their hands they will have no mercy on you, you end up paying more than double the budget they gave you.

Not only do these people have the worst customer service and ridiculous prices, They are also thiefs. They stole my AirPods out of my car that had just been totaled by a drunk driver, who does that? They were used airpods lmao some dirty people. These people don’t realize that AirPods have find my location and shows me exactly where the AirPods are at filed a police report.

On October 10,2024 around 10 pm, my jeep turned off on me in the middle of the road. Contacted the gentleman, i let him know what had happened and he arrived at the location within minutes. He was kind and helped me out in trying to figure out what could of happened. Great customer service and good timing. Thankx

The worse service ever. They illegally towed our truck. Didn’t report it to the police. Didn’t want to give us our truck. Didn’t want us to get our papers from our truck. I will be taking legal action. Do not use this place. 0/10. Very unprofessional. INTERSTATE TOWING IS THE WORSE!

There's a common misconception that tow companies are not honest and don't care about customers. This is NOT one of them. Owner went above and beyond to deliver excellent service by putting common courtesy over money. I can confidently say he has won a lifetime customer.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! We were able to recover my mom's car, thanks to the help of an officer after 12 days we were trying to get information and this person refused and hanged up the calls. Felipe Garza is a scammer, unprofessional,rude, aggressive and disrespectful. He keep the vehicles more longer to overcharged people. When we went to pick up the car he spoke to my mom very rude and my brother ask him not to talk to her like that and Felipe very aggressive he got out of his towing truck provoking my brother to fight. That man threatened my brother that he will do something when he found him on the street. Very unprofessional and disgusting

HORRIBLE!! If I could leave 0 stars as their rating I would!!! THEY'RE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND THE OWNER IS AGGRESSIVE!! EXTREMELY HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT and employees drinking ALCOHOLIC beverages on the work site! They're accustomed to OVERCHARGING their customers and will LIE about their working hours. They constantly make excuses about not being able to meet with you to take out the vehicle so you HAVE TO PAY MORE FEES ON PURPOSE. RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS OWNER WHO DOESN'T KNOW A THING ABOUT THE LAWS FROM TDLR.

On 05/11/2024 Saturday morning around 12:00AM-1:00AM My brother in law was arrested due to driving while intoxicated. He did not have access to his personal vehicle so I decided to allow him to borrow my vehicle. Unfortunately, he was arrested whilst utilizing my vehicle for personal use. The vehicle was then towed to Interstate Towing and Recovery. On Saturday around 1:00A.M. I reached out to the Edinburg Police Department to request the information of the towing company. I called the towing company on Saturday 1:13A.M. and was provided with the information that they would have the vehicle available for pickup Saturday morning with the location at 2980 Benito A Ramirez Rd, Edinburg, TX 78542. I traveled to the location and, while in route attempted, to call the company at 11:42A.M. yet they did not answer and attempted once more at 11:43 A.M.. An individual answered finally at 12:00P.M. and stated they were closed which to my dismay meant that my vehicle would be held another day and incur more charges. Additionally, once arriving to the location at 2980 Benito A Ramirez Rd, Edinburg, TX 78542 their hours stated Monday-Friday 9:00 A.M.-12:00P.M., Saturday 9:00 A.M.-12:00P.M., Sunday CLOSED. Shouldn’t a towing company be available 24/7 if an individual needs access to and retrieval of their vehicle? On Monday 05/13/2024 at 9:08A.M. I contacted Intestate Towing and Recovery once more and requested information on the cost of retrieving my vehicle and if the owner was available. The individual on the line, unbeknownst to me at the time was the owner of the towing company. He stated that the charges for the towing and storing of my vehicle amounted to a total of $691. The owner then explained that the vehicle was not at the location, 2980 Benito A Ramirez Rd, Edinburg, TX 78542 but at a different location: 3308 Cameron Rd. Edinburg TX 78542. He followed up with saying that he would not be available after 10:30A.M. due to a personal matter again which is against the law as retrieval of a towed vehicle should be allowed as a 24/7 service. I asked if anyone else would be available but was told that no one would be at the premises (which was inherently a lie as to the following events). Around 9:30A.M. I traveled to 3308 Cameron Rd. Edinburg TX 78542 with the assistance of a family member and arrived to the location at 9:53A.M.. I proceeded to then call the owner and was told he would not be available but he would be sending one of his mechanics. I waited for about 20 minutes for the mechanic to arrive which was then 10:36A.M.. He proceeded to take the title and confirm the VIN and license plate numbers for the my vehicle. Upon confirmation he handed the title back and requested for the payment of $691. In order to confirm the balance and details of my charges, I requested an invoice from the mechanic but was told that the owner would email it or text it to me. NEVER PAY W/O AN INVOICE From 10:25A.M. to 10:36A.M. I attempted to call the owner multiple times but he would not answer and would ignore the calls. The owner finally called me around 10:45A.M. and explained he would send me the invoice as soon as possible and meet up with me tomorrow but not charge me the extra day for storage of the vehicle for the inconvenience. On Tuesday morning I arrived back at the vehicle storage facility on 3308 Cameron Rd. and waited for the owner to arrive. I was able to take a photo of a beer bottle on the premises. The owner when I left hilariously sent me a video of his mechanic discarding the bottle further proving the bottle was indeed on the premises. I am writing this review to paint a picture of the suspicious and shady practices of Interstate Towing and Recovery. There should be no reason the charges for a, technically one day hold, of my vehicle amount to $691 since they are closed after 12P.M. on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. The final balance was $654 which is still an unbelievable amount of $ for a technical one day hold.

The man who's answers this phone is crazy rude so disrespectful and unprofessional. & THIS IS FOR "INTERSTATE TOWING ANS RECOVERY" not "INTERSTATE TOWING" two different towing companies!!! INTERSTATE TOWING & RECOVERY has no professionalism what's so ever! The audacity to yell over the phone and hang up on a caller who is only trying too find their vehicle and bring up completely different subjects as too who's towing company is named what!! GET SOMEONE NEW AND CONTROLLED OF THEIR EMOTIONS!!!! ACT AS A REP SHOULD; NOT SOMEONE WHO IS GOING TO ACT LIKE WE ARE OUT ON THE ROAD YELLING YOUR MOUTH AWAY FOR NO REASON!!!!!!

Terrible customer service. Didn't even get to finish asking my question and the representative on the phone hung up on me. Called back and hung up on me again. I really shouldn't call the man a 'representative' though because he doesn't seem to realize it himself. Kids straight out of high school have better customer service skills. Very BAD service… On Sunday 4/14 my car was impounded, immediately I called to check the status of the vehicle and the documents I need to get the car released. I was told I needed Registration and insurance which was fine, I was told the lot was closed and I had to get it Monday 4/15. I traveled from San Antonio to Edinburg (3.5 hours), I was told to bring 475 to 500 over the phone. I called was given an appt at 3pm to have the car picked up, however getting the address on google was not correct. Had to drive to another location to pick up the vehicle. I was charged $587.25. We asked to take a picture of the copy of the charges and he yanked the paperwork away and I was told that after payment we will get a copy. He didnt know when the car was picked up stated “Saturday” had to correct him to “Sunday”. I had the Edinburg Code of Conduct pulled up and it clearly stated the charges for impound vehicles which was way less than what he charged for 1 day. He proceed to say that if my son wasn’t doing anything illegal then car wouldn’t have been picked up, again none of his business why the car was asked to be picked up. I had to paid a for the following charges: Towing $100 Waiting time: 87.80 (no waiting) Labor: $87.89 Special equipment: $50 Hook up: $75 Delivery: 62.50 Total: 463.10 Plus: Storage: 45.79 Notification fee: $50 (why??) Impound fee: 22.85. (Had to correct him) Sale tax: 5.60 Total: $124.10 Grand total: $587.25 And location of the vehicle on receipt states: 1314 N Closner Rd which is close to the Edinburg PD. Vehicle was at 3308 Vista Bonita Dr. which was a house and garage. I filed a police report and glad I did. Sir you are a crook.

They stopped my brother with my car that I had just purchased and had the signed title in the car. They didnt allow my brothers girlfriend to grab her purse or my brothers wallet or belongings from the car and they left her on the side of the road and towed the car. We went the following day to pick up and they kept denying our calls and the moment my mom tried to call and they heard her speak spanish they instantly started treating her with disrespect and were just being dismissive towards her and told her they would block her number if she kept calling but my mom was just trying to get the title from the car since they had asked for it. We called the sheriff that afternoon but by the time they showed up it was “past their business hours” so sheriff couldn’t do much and told us they asked us to bring another form. The day after I went to retrieve the car but they asked for title and insurance, the title was still left in the glove compartment and they did not let me grab it because “thats what everybody says” according to them.. they asked for me to get a notarized form from previous owner to be able to go in and get it. Well we got said form and they deny our calls and keep hanging up and they dont open the gate either. We have call log records where we have been waiting hours since before business is “supposed” to close (which ultimately they have different hours all over their yelp and google). They are a horrible business that is just trying to bank off people. We will definitely be submitting a higher complaint towards their business, it has been 4 days and we have still not been able go retrieve my vehicle. ***UPDATE*** Finally got the car. Was charged $761 because they couldn’t answer so I could get it sooner. Also my car was completely open, my brothers phone is missing and his money and his gold bracelet with his name is missing and the car title is also missing. Another worker helped us and they didn’t even have the car into he lot they took it to another (which they didn’t communicate to begin with) and then he begged for us to not file the complaint, which we still will be doing.

Rude and very unprofessional worst service giving us the round about and tried calling several time and wouldn't give us information or price over the phone so we scheduled an appointment to meet with the owner of this business, we waited 2hrs finally show up gave us an insane price to release our vehicle. His excuse was that we are not the only people needing services, well then you might be the wrong business if you're short on staff and can't handle your clients. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST TOWING BUSINESS!!! Very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I don’t recommend it unless you want to deal with unprofessional people . They are very expensive and don’t tell you prices over the phone until you are there to pick up your car. I was charged $420 for just towing my truck for miniature car accident that didn’t have any bad damage it was just a scrape and not having insurance at the time of the accident, Police officer even told me they shouldn’t charge you over $200. My car wasn’t even in the lot for more that 3hrs !! They take advantage of you! They take forever to release the car to you, I waited an hr after I called them in advance before getting to the lot! They have two locations in Edinburg and couldn’t even tell me the right address of where my truck was, and had to drive to the other location. I contacted the police officer after this and he said it was odd and new something was off from the beginning of when the guy was towing my truck, he was acting weird. The guy won’t answer the questions you have all he says is “ you have to call my boss” (in Spanish). Anddd you must have insurance before the car is released to you, just a heads up so you won’t deal with these people they are a headache.

Workers arrived very fast. They helped me tow my car and were very professional. Driver was very nice and gave me a reasonable price. I definitely recommend. They offer a wide range of services for good prices.

if i could give no stars i would.. they stole our personal belongings. they went through our stuff and were very rude. we had rolled over our car and are from out of town and he had no sympathy about our situation, then tried to charge me $375 to get my car out after only holding it overnight and $150 just to get our belongings out. VERY VERY RUDE DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!! JJ’s towing if you see this, you need to do a better job and not let your feelings interfere with your professionalism

They basically stole my car after a flood. It was parked on private property so we issued a police report after them. Police are still investigating and we plan on suing this company. They kept raising the price every time we called and kept saying the person before was wrong for telling us. Horrible customer service in general. Very rude and unprofessional. Worst part is there was no reason that they were in Alamo when they are located in the deepest part of Edinburg.
