This auto zone store in gun barrel city tx is trash as hell carried a battery that's no good with the receipt and they said I could not exchange it because it was good only had 12 volts no water or acid in it then I called to make a complaint about this issue and the guy Scott took the store side and said it was a good battery even without water or acid in the battery he said it need to be charged

The afternoon manager (big guy) has a very bad attitude! Needed code reading and manager told the sweet gentlemen working behind the counter,"hand them the machine" manager turned to me and said, "turn your car on then off, plug the machine in and bring this machine back". The young man looked so stressed and handed me the machine. A call came in and that manager said to the young gentlemen, " do not give prices if they needed prices they can go on the website don't waste your time". It was not that busy. I tried to plug machine but buttons were confusing, I returned his machine and went to O'reily's instead. They are much sweeter at O'reily's. The manager at Autozne needs to get his act together. I feel so bad for the young man working there.

The guy in there is so rude, he said people are to cheap to ask mechanics and they rely on auto zone looking up the part, so he refused to look up the oil we needed, don't go there, I won't for sure

This is a split review - 1st part great/2nd part terrible. 10 Stars and a huge shout out to Nikki for helping my wife with a new battery purchase and install on her vehicle. She was very attentive and helpful in getting us what we needed (exact OEM fit for our make and model). I highle recommend asking for her assistance when shopping this location. 0 stars to the manager - Rick - who tried to upsale my wife on a product we didn't want, need, or ask for. While on the phone with my wife, who was at the store, he lied and told her that the battery we chose to purchase wouldn't have the required CCA to start a push button start vehicle, which is a flat out lie. Trying to take advantage of a customer in a deceptive manner to make a higher sale is wrong and should never be encouraged. This manager should probably undergo some additional sales training if it is his common sale practice to lie to try and sell a higher price product that isn't needed. Do not recommend having this guy assist you.

The employees here are fantastic! They went out of their way to help me when I broke down here, out of town for me! My mechanic drove out from Dallas to help me and locked his keys in his truck. When the store didn't have a slim Jim to use, one of the employees got in her truck to go down the street to the auto shop near by to see if they had one! So very helpful and very appreciated!

I have to say after many years, Auto Zone is beginning to price there selves out of the market. Also their frequent shopper discounts are non existent. Have been buying parts on EBay for 1/2 of auto zones 's

We just moved here and this is the closest AutoZone. I went in because the check engine light came on in our little ranch truck. The Young man hooked it up and he did not know what the code meant so he asked the manager Tony and let me tell you, Tony must have been having a very bad day. He said if we don’t know the codes, there’s nothing that they can do about it. To just give me the papers and leave. Well, that’s exactly what I did and went to O’Reilly’s. I will definitely be going back to O’Reillys. They have great customer service but this AutoZone needs new management. Tony does not like to be bothered with customers or employees.

Just left this place. We are newer to town. Have used other AutoZones, but don’t know this area. Ashley J was a big help. He went above and beyond customer service. He initially, let me know that the assistance I requested was not an option at the moment (code device), But he walked me through a few areas that he thought might be causing my issue, and then he grabbed a couple of other devices and went out to my car to check a few known culprits and creating my issues. I really appreciated him, taking a few extra moments and explaining a few things, and pointing out some other areas that I could have investigated by a mechanic experienced with my vehicle type. Thank you Ashley for your great service.

I've been buying brake pads for years, not knowing i had a warranty on them where i could just bring my old in and get replacements. Cheers to whoever recently told me. I haven't had any issues with this location.

Always so helpful. My battery died Wednesday without any warning or signs. They were very helpful and attentive as we figured out what the problem was. New battery and it started right off. The staff worked together to decrease our stress.

Went in because my battery was low on charge, after testing found it was weak, Bought a new one and a young girl, (Melanie) installed it in my suburban for me...WOW! I'm so impressed with how nice these folks were...5 stars service

I had a great experience, it reminded me of back home... East coast. The lady that assisted me was wonderful! Not only did she find the headlight bulbs correctly but she installed quickly and taught me at the same time. She was a very pleasant lady. THANK YOU!!!

Incredible customer service. Mr Douglas at the gun barrel city location was super informative, walking is through the information we needed about the battery and then made a joke saying the best thing for me to do was to use my Walmart employee discount and hey a new battery. He was right. Thank you mr Douglas ?

We can only put one star. Very poor customer service skills on phone. I am calling just to find out if my part for my truck is in. I understand when there customers in line. However it does not mean associate she has to be rude she says please hold or just hangs up the phone. I have been calling over an hour.

Needing to replace serpentine and ac belts and tensioners. At counter and was asked what voltage my alternator was.. I had no idea. Went out and looked and nowhere on the part did it state the voltage. I took 3 photos of the tags and stamp. Showed the gentleman the photos and he was able to look up the part and see the voltage. They got me hooked up with all 4 parts (ac tensioner had to be ordered). Was able to use my $20 reward coupon and was on my way.. I really like the knowledge coming out of this place.. kind of makes me wish they had a repair shop of their own!!!!

When it comes to auto parts, I prefer either AutoZone or O’Reilly’s — not Amazon, online retailers, or even Walmart, if only to save a few bucks. Generally, any savings by using the aforementioned are offset by the time utilized in any instance of difficultly— whether it be the wrong part ordered or the wrong part shipped. Due to this, and the user-friendly AutoZone website, I opted to purchase a few routine parts for self-installation. My overall experience with the location would have been a 5-Star experience, had I not needed to visit twice. Quite simply— the items purchased included a pair of replacement headlamps. Being a straightforward part, easily identifiable, and easily installed— I checked stock; confirmed. I arrive at the store, go to the appropriate aisle, and grab the correct bulbs. Simple! Upon paying however, one of the employees (perhaps in an overzealous attempt to be helpful) wanted to “ensure I had the correct bulb so [he] didn’t have to process a return an hour later.” Ok, fair enough— may save me from some an unforeseen headache! Sure enough, I’m told “you need THIS bulb, NOT the one you have,” and the supposedly correct bulb was also in stock. Easy enough. Except that I indeed had the correct bulb the first go around, as I believed. So... I had to drive back, and a product return ultimately did end up taking place an hour later (which renders the returned item unsellable, given the nature of halogen bulbs and packaging). This negates all of the incentives mentioned at the beginning of this review for utilizing an in-store purchase over an online one (at a 15-40% lower price). Again, the employee was simply trying to be helpful. Understanding one’s clientele is essential, however— many of us who work on our own vehicles actually understand our own vehicles. We remain crucial to the automotive retail industry. Aside from that, would I visit again? Absolutely.

Very friendly staff and knowledgeable. Our car wouldn't start we had no idea what was wrong they put the computer ? on it told us it was the battery . Thank you for your quick diagnosis and help with getting the right new battery. And they even took the old battery back

They know cars. Friendly and professional. Without additional cost they will replace the part you bought, ie wiper blades and tail light bulbs. Being handicap this is a plus. If your doing the work yourself and need a certain tool they will let you borrow a tool without changing. Great place to keep your car on the road.

Went in to get a some parts the older gentlemen at the register was completely rude. I asked for a key fob replacement and pointed at the display behind him but he proceeded to look up the key on his computer. I told him that’s not what I wanted and again showed him what I was looking for and he responded, “Well why didn’t you say that?” I told him I pointed at it before he got on the computer and he gave attitude and said, “Well that’s like pointing at the lake.” I had him look up some parts for me and all I got was attitude. Extremely rude. If you don’t like working in customer service get another job. You lost my business today I didn’t buy any of the parts and I’ll be getting them elsewhere because of this gentleman alone! Respect your customers you’re representing a business!
