Just another towing service that will capitalize off of your misfortune and play an unwinnable game of keepaway with your vehicle. The woman that answers the phone is extremely rude and will not go out of her way to help you or give you any information that's needed to get your vehicle back. Why?????? So they can further bloat the already outrageous cost of getting your ride back to the point where it's impossible for you to do so. Disgusting and shameful practice and I hope someday they hit a brick wall just like we did trying to get their vehicle back. Maybe then they'll be a little more accommodating but doubtful. You'd have to be human first and have a heart. Obviously avoid like the plague.
DeWitt Wrecker recently towed my car after another driver hit and totaled my car. Tabatha was really kind to me at the accident scene, helping explain next steps and processes. Later, when I went to their lot to remove belonging from my car, Emily went above and beyond both times I came out, helping me retrieve items, open non-functioning doors, used her tools to help me unscrew my license plate frame and even carried heavy bags back to my car in the rain (I have a broken finger from the accident). Truly a sweetheart. She made this hard event easier with her kindness, even when I kept her past closing time. Truly excellent service.
After my experience I absolutely d9nt believe any of these reviews. Believe I check them and I was worried after reading them. My experience was a 5 star experience. Tabitha is amazing she went above and beyond out of her way to help me fix the issues I had to get my vehicle out. If it wasn't for her help o would have spent an extra $300 in paperwork to get my car out. And as far stealing goes....I had a blank money order with the stub attached for $969 sitting in the glove department. And the 2nd lady I talked to after Tabitha left was so nice and helpful also.
My son was involved in a major auto accident and DeWitt was called to scene by PD. From the moment I arrived on scene and made my first contact with them to get property out and the whole process was easy. Great people and great to work with. Gi e them a call for all your needs and you as well will get the family atmosphere treatment even in the down times.
My Stupid truck broke down. Three of us got back via their service in about a half hour. Half the price of others in the area during the forth of July weekend.send it!!!
This place gave me a hard time about meeting to get things out of my vehicle after my wreck. Made me wait almost an hr to open the gate. They even tried to lie and say it wasn’t on the premises and had already been auctioned off. Then tried to clean it up once I said I could see it through the gate & had already spoken to someone. I had just did laundry before my wreck and wanted to get my clean sheets and clean clothes out. To my surprise my clothes & sheets were stolen and everything was rambled through. & all made sense. They knew they had took stuff out. Someone took what they wanted out of my car. They had no explanation. They are Crooks! Very Unprofessional and very rude. They are Thieves.
Absolutely horrible! The lady who answers the phone is so rude and non helpful! I was in a wreck and my car got towed to these people. I spoke to a guy who said my car was still on the lot to get my things out of my suv. Called back later the very same day & the woman who answered lied and said that my car had already been auctioned off because she was too lazy to see if it was still on the property. Finally…she got her story straight and told me it was there after all. When I arrived I had to wait over 40min for someone to arrive to open the gate. I think it was purposely done. I had my child with me and it was extremely hot!!! Horrible place and people to have to deal with.
Came in a few hours after a major accident. The lot isn’t normally manned but only took a bit after calling for Emily to come up and help us out. She was very kind and helped us out greatly!
This is the most unprofessional, unethical & illegal "business" I have ever had this misfortune of dealing with in my entire life! Our golf cart was towed, and when I initially called, the owner Matt answered, lied and said the owner wasn't there, and there was no point in trying to call "her" because she never answers the phone.
My husband was working out of the country in South America, so I was unable to pickup the golf cart until he returned, and he rudely said that wasn't his problem and hung up. During this time period, he tried to ILLEGALLY AUCTION OFF our golf cart!! He lied and said they sent "2 certified letters to our house"- which he didn't. I asked to see copies of them (because they don't exist, and he is legally required to have them on file) and he said he "didn't have them" because that was handled by a "third party". ONLY TO FIND OUT LATER that the person who handles the "certified letters" is the 16 year old daughter who literally did not know what the word certified meant.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY- THEY WILL ROB YOU, LIE TO YOU, AND WE WILL BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION TO MAKE SURE THEIR LICENSE IS REVOKED ASAP.
My mom’s car died at a very busy intersection.
Tabitha and her husband responded to the call and were so nice and helpful. They immediately got my mom out of harm’s way and then towed her car to the parking lot where they explained her options. They safely towed her car to where it needed to go and were very professional and super sweet to us. I highly recommend them!
Would have given a zero but since that was not an option gave it a 1 . Mr. Dewitt was very rude and unprofessional. He tried to charge for something that is unlawful and got upset when he was called out for it .
Horrible customer service and very unprofessional. Mr. DeWitt could not justify some of the charges he was giving us, and he very rudely hung up on me after cursing me out.
I would not expect candor or honesty from Matt De Witt at De Witt Wrecker. Among other issues, Mr. De Witt claimed to not know what AAA was and resorted to name calling during our discussion.
However, the tow driver who responded to the police call for a wrecker; Sterling, was fair and patient while we worked through my wife's unexpected accident. If it weren't for Sterling and I could, I'd give De Witt Wrecker zero stars. However, if I had a choice in who to call, it would not be De Witt Wrecker. I'd encourage others to avoid them if possible.
I just went to pick up my truck at an establishment only to find that I had to crawl through the passenger side to get in because the black tow truck was too close and I was in the lines of my parking spot. Also there was a small black line on my truck where it looks like their door hit mine. When I called the number on the truck I got hung up on twice. I took pictures and videos.
THIEVES. TRUST THE REVIEWS. Don't leave your car with these people i had no choice they will steal all valuable items out of the vehicle DO NOT TRUST THEM.
The guy that towed my car stole a USB that had music on from my arm rest compartment. I called to ask about about it, and a man on the phone claimed his son in law doesn't steal. That the insurance company hires cheap drivers to pick up car and I need to ask the guy, who picked the up. Just sad!
I would not recommend this wrecking company to anyone. Went and picked up a vehicle from a lot in Dickinson, and the owners son Mason was the rudest and most inconsiderate I had ever had in any place of business. If this company prides itself on customer relations at all they would consider having someone else replace this individual. Business front needs some work too to be presentable.
Towing sticker was unneccisarily placed on my window while I was legally parked at my apartment complex. The sticker had a note saying my vehicle was "almost towed" because my parking pass was not in the right location on my car. I was given no instruction by my apartment complex on where to place the parking pass.
I appreciate the company realizing their mistake before towing and noticing the pass on the rear of my car, but the towing sticker is difficult to remove and resulted in unnecessarily wasted time.
I have used Dewitt Wrecker for many years, and know that the owner is awesome. Always prompt, friendly, and fair. I definitely will continue to use and refer Dewitt. Have a blessed day!!
I heard horror stories about showing up to review the damaged vehicle and ALL your stuff being Missing or Stolen.
I showed up and I found EVERY little thing Intact. Even though, the Troopers went thru every little piece of my gear inside my Vehicle. I found every little Everything that I was concerned about to be Still Accounted for. They also took the time to cover as much of the broken out windows and such to keep the weather out, and the water damaged from a hard rain was only Minimal.
My (3) $100.00 bills in my laptop bag was still there in the Bank Envelope and totally Untouched. Can't ask for more than That...

My van was having problems passing inspection because of the engine light was on. The owner of De Witt Wrecker helped diagnose the problem, and I was able to fix the van and pass the state inspection. The price was very reasonable and Mr. DeWitt was very professional and polite. I would recommend this service for wrecker and auto repair.
Very Non Professional, argued that they dont take credit cards had to be cash, charged 180 $ (my normal wrecker charges 80) Took car to thier lot intead of where I told them too ,left my Daughter standing on the side of the road with no help. Dont Call These guy's they rip You off. Had to call my Wrecker people to go get my daughters car back thank god for them.
