So awesome to be paid for scrap i would pay to get gone. I don't care what it's worth, i just want it gone. Granbury don't have a place to take it to any more.
Except for the guy parked in the driveway, it was great. We had some steel scrap. It would have fit in the dumpster, but we did the responsible thing and got$1.84.
Pulled up to gate 15 mins before close with trailer and closed gate in front of me. Tried calling no answer glad i drove 35 miles, i guess hours depend on how they feel from day to day thanks j
This is my favorite place in town. The nicest people you will ever meet PAY you to take them your busted up equipment that was beyond repair decades ago, and you don't even have to strip it all apart. I don't understand why people are being mean to these wonderful folks. Dumps charge you for putting stuff in landfills and these absolute heroes are helping you clear up your property and putting some money in your pocket while putting your scrap to good use. We are getting paid for things we can't use and why on earth anyone has a problem with that is beyond me. Anyway, thank you Stephenville Iron and metal, you provide a valuable service to our community and are an absolute pleasure to deal with.
I know I took more than 100 pounds of aluminum took 2 people to load a piece an the was solid sheet aluminum how do u get mixed aluminum out of that it's all one thing nothing is mixed. One piece of what I had weighed 10 pounds I know for fact I had more than that. I been doing scraping my whole life I have never felt more ripped of for 45$ for a whole truck bed full will never return to a company like this. No I didn't use the inside scale because it was to much aluminum for that so say something. That's for taking out of my pocket.
Real good place were in town doing demolition job and they our scrap In and out fast super nice service young lady working the front desk is super nice and Profesional I will keep coming back when we get work in town 👌👌🙌

Literally weighted before getting in there.
They will literally almost always give you significantly less.
I brought 120 pounds of aluminum cans
They tried to tell me it was only 50 pounds….
Can’t necessarily tell you any other place will be better, but I can’t tell you this is what constantly has happened here
These people are crooks. I pulled up on the scale and could hardly see anyone behind the window. I got out of my pickup and one a person met on the scale and saw what I had on the trailer. I him if could get a receipt for the gross weight and he told me I would get a copy when I paid. I went and loaded and returned to the scale. I heard a voice say ok. I pulled off the scale and parked. While walking to the office, the girl asked if I minded weighing again. Went and weighed again. Went to the office and the girl apologized saying she was on the phone the first time. She handed me a receipt for 300 lbs. I told her that this wrong because I knew I had more than that.She said not to worry, they would figure it out. Someone approached me and ask about my load and how much weight I had. I told maybe about 1800 lbs, I tried to guesstimate while I was loading. He left and talked to the guys that was there while the excavator unloaded it. When he came back, all he mentioned was some t-post I had. I did have about 40 bent 6 foot t-post = approximately 280 lbs. What else I had, 4 plastic mineral buckets full of short pieces of square tubing, 12” brake rotors, brake drums, cv joint shafts, approximately 150 feet assorted lengths of 2-3/8 and 2-7/8 pipe, about 40 pipe couplings. Most of the short pipe and coupling were in two 55 gal drums. I had 1/2 roll of concrete reinforcement wire. The conversion turned ugly, maybe in defense of the girl , which I had only explained to her that the weight was not right. He paid me $5.00/hundred for 1800 lbs and told me to never uckig come back. He told him that he didn’t have to worry about that and I will tell everyone about his crooked business
Scales are a little off but what's .12 lbs.... I will return... Looking forward to seeing y'all closer

Great experience here with these guys. If you haven’t been here before, or done scrap iron before the process can be kinda confusing. But overall a good time, fair prices. If you’re looking to make money I’d separate your metal out before hand.
Existing as the only recycling yard across multiple counties, it's no surprise they are able to pay much much less than others across the state... And they do. They don't win any awards for customer service, either. Young woman running the office is quick to cut you in payout then cuss you for asking why. Classic shady scrap yard' antics are alive and well--the house always wins. Do yourself a favor and go to Eastland or one of the other yards down the road.
The employees are friendly and helpful. The place is easy to pull in and out of. I don't know if the rates they pay are comparable to other scrap yards since this is the only one I go to.
