Great! Better than A2... What was the last letter again? Duran & Sons was able to identify the "water leaking into the engine" that the last shop: A2*, could not.
Highly recommend these guys!! Gilbert came and picked us up in the middle of the night on the side of I10. He was very friendly and quick!! 65 years old and he's out there doing the damn thing! We told him that we had a load in the back so he let us stay the night in our truck at the tow yard and had his guys help us unload our truck and load it onto the truck that came to recover. Then he took us to freightliner. Overall a very quick and pleasant experience!!

They've been servicing and repairing trucks for my dad since the 80's and my trucks since the mid 90's. Won't go with anyone else. Friendly and great service.
Very professional company and employees that definitely know what they are doing. I highly recommend this company for your diesel services. To be honest, I have taken my truck to various mechanics here in El Paso and over the past 2 years every single one of them failed to find the problem that Duran and Sons found. This is the only place I have taken my truck where I feel with 100% confidence that I was not getting scamed.
The owner, whose name is Gilbert is a liar. He will cut your throat. He gave me an estimate for an head gasket job for $1500 including labor and parts, while Flying J gave an estimated for $1800 including labor and parts. After he dissembled our truck, then called me and said he wanted $2500 for the job. If I didn't fix with him, he can put it back and charged $600. I am very much had no choice but to let him fix! After he fixed, my first trip back out, my truck failed in Tucumcari, NM. Problem: Injector #5 wasn't tied properly, ran loose causing damage in side: bolt broken, cam scratched, beat up, head gasket beat up, head beat up, injector broken ... very much from Valve down to head need to be replaced. This probably runs over $10G. This is professional opinion from John's Truck Service in NM.
Per Steve Burns's email at John's TRUCK Service in NM, the problem describe as follow:
"Eng. Failure : # 5 Inj ran loose in bore causing described damage sealing gsk beatup approx. ½ thickness ,bore in head beat up, inj bolt beat up and broken in head, cam lobe ruined by rocker arm roller beating on cam till it broke then arm ground on the cam lobe ..."
If you want to take your chances with this guy, be my guest. I would stay away as far as you can. Any suggest about how to proceed, or any useful info would be greatly appreciated. He refused to take his responsibility!
Gil Duran is one of those few and far between kinda guys you find these days. Went far and above what I have ever run into in a out of town roadside breakdown. Towed my rv 80+ miles back to his yard, drove me around town searching for the parts I needed so I could make the repairs myself( saving me hundreds) and gave me power to plug into so I could stay the night and start back out in the am. Not enough stars to rate this guy.
