I just took my first haul, despite being a noob it was a good experience. I was surprised by payout amount. I felt like a prospector getting my gold weighed. Guide for new customers: Have your metals separated into types and grades. Cast aluminum, Aluminum wheels, Iron, Steel, Lead Batteries, Tin, Brass, Copper, etc. Best to put it in some boxes or Home depot totes and label them legibly with the type and grade for the workers to read. Have a notepad with you to write down the weights for your record. Park out front or down the street. Walk into the yard and up the dock ramp on the left, use caution around the heavy machinery and ramp traffic. Wait in line to talk to the kind lady behind the glass in the office and ask to get a membership. Your ID, license plate, and fingerprint will be entered to get a membership and some free swag items. Your membership card and the check for your first haul will be mailed to your home address. The staff and workers are helpful, just be patient. Follow their instructions. Use one of their carts to the right of the entrance to transport your bins of separated metals to the scales inside. If you're hauling several hundred pounds, it may be best to wait in line to back your truck into the dock. It will be hard pushing a heavy cart up the ramp. If you have a big load of only one kind of metal, they will direct you to the vehicle scale in the back. You will get instant cash for metals like cast iron or steel and a mailed check for the more precious metals like copper and aluminum. Customers, their vehicle, and their haul will be surveilled and recorded. It's all part of the process not to give business to thieves.

The employees there are very helpful ...except for the person behind the window.he has bad attitude.

Open on Sunday. They make you unbag your cans and put them into shopping carts. I'm skeptical of how they tare the different carts. 60 cents for a pound of cans seems a bit low

The website says they close at 6:45 pm . I arrive at 6:05pm and got turned away.. I consider that false advertisement.

Only giving two stars because their hours are great (provided they actually go by them when you get there). If you go here, make sure you know exactly what you have and keep it separated, otherwise they might try to lump all your scrap together for a lower price. Take some tools like cutters with you so just in case one spot on your 70lb load of stripped clean wire turns it from bare bright into #2.

William is the best he's always super friendly and helpful. Thanks William

If I could leave no stars I would. We drove 2 h hours to turn in our scrap and it wasn't even 5 oclock yet and they were closing the gates when we pulled up and the guy closing the gate was super rude said he don't care they are closed

Green Earth has been a great pleasure to do business with. We have been coming here for several years now and they never fail to be helpful and friendly. Thank you for your kind and excellent service which you provide to the dallas area!

Green Earth is my favorite recycling place to do business! Everyone that works there are extremely nice, they treat you like family. I've been doing all my business there for the past 6 years and I hate going someplace else. Luckily with their extended hours, I don't have to. William, manager of inside scales is the best! He's always there to greet you like family, is helpful, professional, and patient with you, the whole gang there are friendly, fun, and devoted to assisting you in any situation. I go just about every day, and I look forward to seeing them. Green Earth is clean, organized, and the parking lot is free of anything that might cause a flat tire unlike Seagoville scrap. The prices are fair and they do honest business, again unlike seagoville. They are my first choice every time! Thank you, guys, for being so amazing!! I love yall!!! Catherine Edwards

Really seriously? Do you wanna be harassed by security? Wanna be cop that is working this location. They will harass you for moving your stuff. get your stuff cashed in. Otherwise, the hours are really okay in this place, and the pay is nothing compared. To other spots? So, uh yeah, try to avoid this one at all costs because it will cost you in the long run...

Award winning customer service my a**. The working men by gate are rude and act like they tough and running the place especially if your not Hispanic … lol smh so I’d rethink recycling here unless it’s a last resort… then if that's not bad enough I get told that my metal weighed too much for them and they weren't equipped to handle it when I saw all kinds of forklifts and skid steers… but I guess those stop working around quitting time too

Drove all the way there after calling to be told they close at 7pm, we pull up at 5:50pm and they refused to do anything for us. Now our kids Christmases are not going to happen. Because of places like this that lie and refuse to help, this is why I f'n hate the businesses in the Dallas area. Thanks for ruining Christmas for our kids. Will not be looking to send anyone else to this place! And we know alot of people who scrap for a living in the Dallas area. Most definitely not recommended to do business at all here!!!

Well first let’s start by saying this place is very unorganized. The 1 at the scale is so rude and lazy, with that being said why don’t u get to see ur scale in amount when you enter scale and then why don’t you get to see it after dropping?? Cause they give you what they want. I know we have scrap yards at home and run scales with a trailer. This was our first time and will be the last will will look for another place that willl not be rude and want business.

They are great people to deal with and they handle the fast motion and that place is pretty quick to get you in and out when I mean in and out I mean in drop it on the scale and grab your Cash and

No integrity or accountability. They'll give you a price over the phone but in person they won't honor what they say. The people operating the scales are the buyers. They pay what they want. And good luck trying to correct it. They forget English and the office isn't any help. They're okay with ripping people off.

When in doubt...dam near rain, sleet,or snow you can always count on this place to be available to meet your recycling needs! Absolutely love their hours and prices arent too bad either. they have answered every time I call, line moves fast,& good energy felt throughout the place. Employees seem to their job ,& DEFINATELY know their stuff.

They are very fast. We were helped by 2 guys and the overall impression was positive and we like it because they were honest and confirmed with us on the scales everything that was counted

Don't recommend this place to anybody unless you're trying to make a quick buck or desperate because when they get a chance to rip you off. Literally I have brung a little bit of aluminum and 1 rim and I didn't get paid what I thought I was going to get paid so I just tried that one rim and I didn't receive the amount that someone recommended. Now Midwest engines and recycling is the place to go! Highly recommend you won't regret it

Every time I go it’s a smooth FRIENDLY EXPERIENCE prices are very reasonable and so is their patience with beginners like myself - other places take advantage and steal your materials. Thank you for being an honest trustworthy business.

I hadn't been to a recycling center like this one. I tried to get information from the office and we didn't comummicate well. But there were 2 men there that helped me figure out what to do. For your first time you'll fill out an application and they'll mail you on a cash card and for any visits after that. I think it's mostly for construction workers or company's to go dump their metals. Other civillians can go there too, I only think that because of there application.

They are polite and friendly. I look forward to seeing my homies when I've got things to recycle. Keep up the good work guys. I would give y'all a perfect 10 but it will only do 5 so be it.

They're really cool and understanding. I stripped the sheathing from my copper, put it on the scale, and forgot my i.d. I was so sure that they'd tell me that I couldn't get paid that day. The man in the window took care of me. I was so happy because I had no money. At all. I received $13.00 for the copper and I felt grateful that they did me right. Thanks so much for helping me out big time. Green Earth. I'll never forget that.

This company will rip you off. After spending 4 days sweating, bleeding, and working blisters on my hands, this company paid me less than $6 for 88 pounds of copper motors... they put them as aluminum breakage on my ticket. You aren’t able to see what they are putting your stuff in as until after they hand you your ticket. And once it’s done it’s done. You can’t get your scrap back because it’s already been taken and dumped somewhere. The guy told me that my motors were aluminum breakage and that they didn’t pay for motors any differently which is a lie! There wasn’t even any aluminum on them. They were all copper motors which I know I’ve made good money on at other places. That $6 should’ve been more like $30-$40. 2 of the motors I took in were worth at least $6 each. So for my 4 days of working my fingers to the bone I received a whopping $38 total! So much for eating this week! Thanks Green Earth Metals! If I could give less than 1 star, I most definitely would!
