I started coming here in 2014 when I moved to college station for college. I tried a handful of places here and there over the years and have yet to find a mechanic with better service, communication and pricing. I always recommend, and will continue recommending this shop to anybody with car problems.

I've been taking my family fleet to BVA for years.
I have taken my vehicles to BVA many times for various repairs, and I have always been pleased with the value, prompt service and quality of their work. I have even taken my cars there when I ordered a part and thought I could repair it myself, and discovered I was wrong…. I took the part to them and they just charged me labor. If you are tired of shoddy work and corporate nonsense, this is the place to go.
They've done 2 repairs and 1 service for us. Very professional, able to actually find a problem and make a specific repair, which saved us $12,000 off the Dealership price to "replace an entire system." They did the work on time, and as promised, at reasonable prices. This is the first mechanic shop we've had to use since moving to CS, and it's our go to place from here on out.
My good ole 2007 Toyota Highlander wouldn’t start. I was able to get it towed to Brazos Valley Automotive and Bobby quickly diagnosed it with a bad starter and took care of it for a reasonable cost. He also let me know of another smaller problem he noticed and said he could take care of it and quoted me a price for it, but said it should be a pretty straightforward fix if I wanted to do it myself. He even showed me what exactly he was talking about when I picked up my car. Happy to have found this place and I will def be using them for all my mechanic needs in the future!
They're honest people with fair prices compared to other options in town. I will be back when I need additional repairs.
I brought my car in for what I thought would be an oil pan gasket replacement/repair. Got a call from BVA who said when they got it up, the oil pan was fine but the oil pressure sensor was leaking, which was less than half of the original service estimate. I would have believed them if they said it was both, because I'm not a car person.
Bobby is a man of not many words, but he knows what he’s doing. Got to my car two days earlier than expected. Honest people with very fair prices. Will recommend them to others.
Was having a bad creaking sound coming from front left area of our car. Was recommended to replace all shocks and struts to fix the issue and also brakes needed to be replaced due to wear. After spending a pretty penny, the sound still existed when I picked up the car. I took it back in and Bobby was able to identify some bushings and suspension arms needed to be replaced as well. They ended up taking care of parts and labor costs since we couldn’t fix it the first round. Extremely grateful for their willingness to re-address the issue and when presented a chance to do the right thing they delivered! Highly recommend!
Bobby and Pat were fantastic. My schedule was very difficult to maneuver through but they made sure my car was in great shape knowing my daughter was going to be driving it a ton. Great service!

Brazos Valley Automotive has been my go to mechanic for six years now. The prices are always fair, the staff are respectful and kind, and the work is completed above standard quickly. They are a company I know I can trust, because they care. Most recently, they retrieved my Aggie Ring from the dark abyss under my car seats (they're electrical and weeks of searching couldn't get the ring out) which easily could have cost me $200 elsewhere. No matter the problem, if it's car related, I would go to them before anyone else in town. If anyone from BVA sees this, thank you for all the great work y'all do!
I have used BV Automotive for 10 years for various repairs - minor and major. Service and cost have always been more than satisfactory. Also, I have stopped by for random help like replacing a key fob battery. Bobby is patient and has never failed to help, and does so with a smile. I would not take my vehicle any where else.
Was recommended here from sevciks service center initially for a headlight replacement. for reference i drive a 2012 nissan maxima. mechanic originally ordered the wrong headlight, so had to make two trips. when i took it back the second time i asked him to check the sound it was making. he replaced my headlight, belt alternator, and wheel hub. on my drive to HOUSTON my belt SNAPPED if i kept driving it would’ve ruined my engine. i had to TOW it and took it to my mechanic back home and took him forever to find the problem. a few weeks after he replaced my the headlight, now i have wires floating that should be connected to a light. i spent over $1000 for everything just for my car to be in worst shape i am so disappointed because there are so many good reviews but this was not my experience at all i will not be going back.
I HIGHLY recommend Brazos Valley Automotive! I had my sons truck at a local dealership for a week and they couldn’t diagnose the issue. I did my own research on a FB forum and told the dealership what I was told look for. Using my research they the diagnosed the issue and said it would be around $1800+ tax to repair. I called up BVA, talked to Pat and asked what they would charge for the same repair. He said it would be $1105 out the door. He also mentioned that he didn’t think everything that was quoted from the dealer would need to be replaced and that he wanted to re-diagnose the issue. After having the truck for a few hours they quickly discovered the problem. They fixed the issue in less than a day and only charged me $360. I can’t say enough about their honesty, professionalism and knowledge. I will only take my vehicles to Brazos Valley Automotive moving forward. Thank you Pat and the entire BVA team!

Bobby from Brazos Valley Automotive has really helped me out multiple times with my son's car by telling us the truth about what's wrong with our car, and charging amazingly reasonable prices to get my son back on the road in a short amount of time so he can be on time to his classes! As a dad that lives several hours away from my son, it is a big relief and answer to prayer to find a trustworthy and reasonable auto repair place away from home! I have tried other auto places in the College Station area and highly recommend BV Automotive above the rest!

I have been relying on these folks for almost nine years and my daughter longer than that. Superb service. Today's experiance: pick up my car after they repaired my supposedly defective 12 volt plug for charging our cellphones. Offer my credit card for payment--no charge. The plug is not the problem--our charger is. Will I continue to use their services? Absolutely. Highly recommend.

Which is a rare find nowadays! I took my truck in there, for a bunch of things, what I thought would be the biggest was the heater. I received a call that they found what the problem was they could take the dash out and fix it or try to fix it with a clamp . I went with the Clamp in my heater now works perfectly. I also had the headlight fixed, tailgate fixed, and some other stuff. Total bill was 200 and some dollars and they got it done in a day! I highly recommend these folks. They remind me of old-school mechanics that cared about their customers and trying to give them a fair deal. I’ll be back in spread the word.
I've been going to BVA regularly for about a year now since getting into a fender bender. They do excellent work for fair prices. No-nonsense atmosphere, and always busy (a good thing). Highly recommend for local students (as I was).
I've been using Brazos Valley Automotive for about a year. They have always been fast, polite, & well priced. A few weeks ago I brought my car in for transmission issues. They told me it needed to be replaced. Rather than just take my money on fixing an older car with over 200,000 miles on it, Gordon recommended I put the money into a new one, which I did. These guys have been helping me for 10 + years. Two weeks ago my radiator decided after 272,000 miles to empty itself. Had it towed late afternoon and Bobby and Gordon had it going by Noon the next day. I am hoping for at least 300K by always using Brazos Valley Automotive.

Was referred here by a different shop that told me they wouldn't be able to work on my car for 3 days. Brazos Valley Automotive offered service that was short, sweet, and to the point. They diagnosed and fixed my car in less than 2 hours. No gimmicks, no cons. I'm always worried businesses will try to scam me into spending more money because I'm young and female, but these guys were super honest and helpful. They gave me an itemized receipt and explained all the costs, which were very reasonable. I will definitely be returning any time I need engine work done.
I couldn't say enough positive things about these guys. Best place in town. Don't expect them to blow sunshine up your butt when you walk in. They're straight forward and polite. They don't try to sell you on high quality service to your face, only to overcharge you later . Multiple times they've looked at my car, even fixed some small stuff, and just handed me my keys afterwards FREE of charge. I've had a multitude of pleasant experiences here, and highly recommend to anyone in need of a skilled, honest mechanic.
Honest owners and quality work. I've been using BVA for over a decade and they have never done a poor job or done work that wasn't absolutely necessary. I get my oil changed there too and buy all my tires there as well. Top notch mechanics!
Outstanding customer service!! Gordon Wilhelm and his crew of mechanics at Brazos Valley Automotive go above and beyond for their customers. Have had nothing but great experiences taking my families vehicles there. About 10 yrs of great service. I know there are some that might have had a small issue as I have read but all in all any job or with any company we all make mistakes from time to time but I can tell you over all the years I have been doing business there and many many friends of mine also they are very few and far between and customer service is very important to Gordon Wilhelm or any business owner. Highly recommend doing business with this company.
