Horrible place, won't show weight, list stainless steel as tin had well over 5,000lbs of it and got a whopping 150.00 bucks!!!Maybe we all should get together and file a lawsuit against them, I see im not the only one who was ripped off and im 100% sure there are a bunch who didnt leave reviews.....
NEVER EVER USE THESE PEOPLE THEY RIP YOU OFF, THEY WONT DISPLAY YOUR WEIGHT ON THE SCALE WHEN YOU COME IN, THEN YOU TAKE IT BACK THEY PICK IT UP, THEN THEY TELL YOU THE WEIGJT BUT.... TELL ME HOW THIS MAKES ANY SENSE, THEY SAID WE WEIGHED 39,000 LBS, THE TRUCK WEIGHS 9500LBS SO WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN PAID FOR 20,500lbs BUT WHEN YOU GO IN THEY SERIOUSLY SAID THE SCRAP WAS ONLY 1900 LBS .... AND MY TRUCK WAS 37,900...ITS A REGULAR SIZED DUALLY, AND THEN THEY LISTED WE SILD TIN AND IT WAS ALL STAINLESS STEEL, AND YOU CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY ALREADY PICKED UP YOUR SCRAP, THEY ARE A RIPPING PEOPLE OFF, THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES I WOULD STAY AWAY AND GO TO LORENA TO QUALTY CORE AT LEAST THEY ARE HONEST AND PAY YOU ACCORDINGLY....NEVER EVER AGAIN I AM REACHING OUT TO MY ATTORNEY BECAUSE IM SURE THIS IS ILLEGAL AS HELL....... AGAIN DO NOT SALE YO THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!
Rude employees and the prices are ridiculous. Everywhere else has better prices. They are about half what everyone else is paying. They got 1 star because that's the lowest rating you can give someone
Took a trailer full of metal this morning 3/24/25. Scale does not show weight of load, guy in yard tagged the entire trailer as TIN. Can clearly see car doors mowers, two transmissions a shed, garage door, etc. went in to get payment, did not request id, did not get a receipt with incoming/outgoing weight. Sheisty business. $117 dollars for entire load. Won’t be back!!
Not impressed by the price. I recycled 180 pound aluminum block engine. Drove inside the dusty yard with the high possibility of getting a flat from all the metal crap that is on the ground....and that's all I got for it ... I don't know maybe I am asking too much. 15 cent per pound of "aluminum breakage" Personnel is helpful no issues there.
I came here thinking I would be dealt with honestly. I was horribly mistaken. They intentionally misclassified multiple items, classifying metals such as steel and iron as tin scrap. The guy who seemed to be in charge would stick a magnet to plates of metals that I had, and if it stuck, he would classify it as tin. Save your time and get a fair price by going anywhere else.
Do yourself a favor go somewhere else.
This business gave me a check with someone else name on it and refuses to have me our scrap metal back or void the check. Theft of services. I will be suing them in court.
Dropped off some scrap computer boards and laptops. A nicely dressed younger guy (assistant manager?) was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was going to give stuff to them for free so it was disposed of properly, but he took the time to weigh it all and get a few dollars. Another guy was not AT ALL happy that the assistant manager allowed me to pick through the stuff they had, I assume he was the manager or owner of the place... They made a pretty penny off the small amount of stuff I bought, so hopefully I'm allowed to visit again?
Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. I normally do smaller items and use CRC in killeen but they were closed today. Most the employees were nice but I had to unload a transmission they gave me $9.60 for by myself? I've never scrapped a motor or transmission I had to unload myself before, should have brought gloves I guess
Workers are nice enough, but they take so long to get anything done, they pay about 10-20% of normal market values for scrap metal and will misclassify things intentionally to pay you less. I had 50 lbs of tin and was paid $2.50 in total for those 50lbs..... as of when this review was left tin goes for $1.50 a pound, so in short they paid me $0.05 per pound for something that is supposed to be $1.50 a pound. not a very honest business practice. There are about half a dozen places to take your metal to around here and all of them have better prices than this place. It isn't worth your time or gas to come here in my experience with them.
I am writing this review in response in to a passed review I left that I have since removed where I had some skepticism. I want to say that Wayne and the crew went out of their way to make sure that my doubts were answered And it was done with a friendly smile! Great place to go with your scrap and it seems like a good working environment as well, Fair prices and good service.
I was really disappointed to write a bad...poor..review about someplace I once wrote a good one about.
We have been coming here for awhile now. Seemed only honest place. Till one day we took about 40 lbs of number one stripped copper there and the scale showed 15... I know I preweigh all my stuff from habit on our fish hanging scale. It's not to the ounce accurate. .but it's not 25 lbs off...then when we got the ticket it said 38$!!! For 11 lbs...not 15..then lady said well the tare....is 4lbs. The weight of the little plastic tote the put it in to weigh it. ..what??!!!
So then when I said I didn't accept that give my metal back. .herefused ..said I could have scanned the check and deposited it already even though I never accepted the check. We pushed back through the window when it was slid under to us...
They said I'd have to wait 5 business days to cancel the check before I got the copper back.
It's a good thing I take pics of the metal on the scale before I take it becuz of similar experiences. So. .I'll be going there in the morning. To get my copper back...andwe will see if it's all there... I'm glad I go with my gut and safety myself like that. I'm curious to see how they go about this. .if it's all there. Then I have my scales w me and weigh it rt in from t of them and see how they respond or what they have to say. Already made a report w state weights and measurements dept. We'll see how it goes
Prices are great, even though they fluctuate with the economy. The work staff are friendly and very knowledgeable on whatever you bring in. Would not go anywhere else.
Rude! Rude! Rude! I just literally called up there, I don’t know who answered the phone but he was the most rude person I’ve come across in a long time!! I didn’t even finish talking before he slammed the phone and hung up on me. I was trying to ask a question and his answer was beyond disrespectful smh. I refuse to deal with that kind of service wow… unbelievable! Smh!!
Excellent facility. Staff is hardworking and knowledgeable. Head man was out there with employees to help and answer questions. Mario Keith young fella on the forklift and dude on his first day. Sorry I didn't remember everybody's name. They were all professional and swift. Great experience. I will return. No need to go anywhere else.
Beware - the staff is friendly, however, they seem to be under orders to mark ALL metal that is unloaded in the main yard as "TIN" so to only pay the lowest price. We made 3 trips so far, separated our loads ( heavy metal pipe, angle, and square tubing) from the Tin, and they still only would mark it as TIN...wasted our time separating our loads.
Took some loose tin about half a trailer full and I was happy with the price they bought it for. Dont see why they would have any bad reviews this is a great place to make extra cash. Will return everytime to sell metal here.
The worst scrap yard I've been to in years went there handed expired license by accident and reached to hand the lady at the desk my license with same number and refused to look at it after I drove 45 minutes there and back and all the manager said was sorry to hear to that that doesn't make up for the fact I went there and she refused to look at my license I'm self employed for many years now and I would of fired her if she worked for me I would recommend going to Waco before I ever do anything with them and they pay more anyway
Drove out on a Saturday because their business hours online said they were open, turns out they are not. Good way to put a bad taste in the mouth of a potential customer.
poor service will cheat u out of money by downgrading your product to a lower quality will stand and watch u unload yoyr own scrap and not even offer to help i have made a living scrapping for over fifteen years and i didnt think it could get so bad called ahead of time to tell them what i had and when i got there they couldnt take it after telling me they could marble falls is a far better scrap yard only reason i give em one star us because i cant fugure out how to take it off this place is not good .
Here's a thought. Stay open on Saturday and close on Mondays days like most great customer service businesses do. Most people work 9-5 on weekdays and can't make it there during your current hours.
Trying to screw people out of money by telling me green tarnish on clean number one copper will only bring number two prices. I could see if it was soldered and actually dirty copper but it’s wire that has been ran through a stripper and has been sitting in a tub for a few months. Green is tarnish has no weight. These people are scamming thiefs for trying to pull this stunt.
The staff is incredibly rude. I took 105# of 304 ss and they paid me for breakage aluminum to the tune of 1/3 of the value. Then wrote me a check from an out of town bank. I won't go back. I will throw my scrap in the trash before taking it there.
This is the worst scrap metal place i have ever been to they rip people no matter what kind of metal u have they mark it as tin to give u the lowest price they cut corners by not explaining what goes where...and the girl that works the door is rude this place is horrible..after a whole car engine and all completly stripped by hand less then 200 for the whole thing including iron aluminum copper all priced for tin..not cool
New Owner has taken over and the employees are still the same. Customer service is top notch for the type of business there in. One Negative is that there not open on Sat. Maybe in the future they will open for just a couple hours on Sat for the people who cant make it there during the week.
