Well run recycling operation. Don’t always get top dollar, but the prices rise and fall with the market. My preferred location for dropping off scrap steel.
Great people but if I were the owners I would round to the nearest dollar. I can understand not giving change but if amount is less than fifty cents keep it but if more than fifty cents please give me my dollar. This would create goodwill.
Went to recycle aluminum cans as I always do every 6 to 8 months from soda and/or beer canned drink consumption where we generally only save up between 32 and 35lbs of crushed cans in a large metal trash can. Got to the recycle place and placed the bag of crushed cans on the scale and it read 33 units (which means pounds [lbs.]). Their exchange rate for aluminum cans is 50 cents per unit so I added that up in my head to be $16.50 (33x50/100=$16.50), then took the receipt to the window for the exchange, they had me sign the pad and then issued the receipt and gave me 16 dollars in cash except the 50 cents!! That's right! They kept a pound's worth of the cans I had recycled! I asked the lady at the window about the 50 cents and they speak no English so she put her hand out of the security window and pointed at the sign that no one could barely read due to the security bars covering the heavily tinted window that said "NO CHANGE" as if that gave them a legal right to keep the pound of cans I had saved to recycle. I'm not sure that is legal and think they are pocketing that money and will be checking with the BBB and the county tax auditor's office as well as other commerce attorneys about that type of shady practice. SO BEWARE WHEN RECYCLING ALUMINUM CANS AT TORRES METAL RECYCLING IN SEALY TEXAS AND KEEP YOUR WEIGHT TO AN EVEN NUMBER SO THEY CANT STEAL A POUND OF CANS FROM YOU!!!! Taking my business elsewhere!
I was here today and my payout was $56 and only got $46 this isn't the first time this has happened 😔. Guess I better start looking at my ticket before leaving nobody honest no more.
I don't usually leave reviews. This place is a bunch of thieves and crooks.
I had a shop fire that took out my business and home. I lost everything. I asked Ray the "manager " how much it was going to cost for dumpster and delivery. He said no charge for dumpster and delivery. I fill up 8@ 40 yard and 1 @20 yards dumpster full of steel that was left. Over 30 thousand pounds. Today I go to collect what money there should be left from everything I own. They say he's a manager, not the owner he doesn't set the price... your under weight so ill give you a penny per pound for some of the loads but not all. Be thankful we gave you anything at all.
Nothing but scandalous crooks looking to screw people over at any chance.
Any other scap place is better then this.
Went there and walked up to the office, saw some workers there and I tried to get their attention and they just waved at me. I waited a while for some to help me but no one did. I called and a lady said she would come out to show me where to go buy never did. I called and left a voice mail and no one called me back. I went to a scarp metal place in katy.
It's pretty tidy for being a recycling plant.
The Staff are friendly and helpful.
As I was out processing, I noticed a list of items that they won't accept, posted on the cashier's window.
It would be beneficial for you to call ahead, to make sure that you don't bring anything that's not acceptable.
Other than that, I was in and out in just a few minutes.
I'll be visiting again, in the future.
worst place .will damage your vehicle.very neglect when unloading. they also do not pay well .they are crook .when you should be making 0.25 lbs they give you o.o25 per bls.
