My friend’s car was towed from the blood bank parking lot near the University. The signage is poorly placed when the lot is full, the boards are barely visible.
We went to retrieve the car within an hour of it being towed, yet were still charged an extra $30 for “storage.” On top of that, there was an additional $12.75 charge labeled as a labor fee, which feels completely unjustified. These fees come across as unnecessary overcharges.
The front desk staff treated us dismissively, as if asking reasonable questions about the fees was out of line.
Please consider making your signage more visible and reconsider the practice of piling on extra charges. Students are already under financial strain, and these policies feel unnecessarily harsh.
The most ridiculous towing company ever!!!! Towed my vehicle on June 4th 2024 from Century 24 Express, West Memphis, Arkansas!!!! Did not give me ANY paperwork to my vehicle AT ALL!!!! This is THEFT of PROPERTY!!! have spoken with this man To NO AVAIL!!!! This is ridiculous & CRIMINAL!!!! He refuses to answer my insurance company's phone calls..
These guys towed my car from the interstate to my house a good distance. They were the cheapest and fastest to come get me. The guy who towed me was very knowledgeable on towing. My tire came off my rim and he was able to get my car off the bed without driving on the rim, saving me lots of money! He even stopped at the gas station for me so I could get cash. I truly appreciate their service.
DO NOT use this company. They prey on struggling UofM college students at the “UNIVERSITY” Blood Bank parking lot with signage that is confusing and misleading. These kids aren’t selling drugs or loitering, they are going to CLASS! What a sad way to make a living. They don’t tell the kids where the car went after they steal it either. I will be filing a civil suit against them. They will be either paying me my money back or buying new signs. Paperwork coming soon!
Hours are false and only for towing apparently. They can two 24 hours, but will only let you come get your car until 4:00. They also do not follow the state law of no storage fee until after 24 hours.
This company is unprofessional and has very rude and arrogant employees. They Towed my car for no good reason. I was a customer at the business establishment where my car was towed while I was using the restroom. These people are practically robbing people! They will be hearing from my attorney!
Nearly killed me today by cutting into my lane on hwy 14 just before Brownsville road, before ensuring I was far enough behind him. Whipped in and out of lanes recklessly and then proceeded to use the turn lane filled with debris to pass 6-8 cars in the left lane on Hwy 14 just after Brownsville road. No regard for public safety and I will be filing a police report.
No warning at all . I have a parking pass , yet they say my tags was out if so I feel they should have giving a warning instead of towing cars if I have a parking pass but towed my car in the mid morning when people are asleep ! Then wanna charge 250 just for towing for expire tags is outrageous, when I already live in low income apartments.. I feel like low income apartments are always being targeted with this company cause they know we barley can afford things !
My car was stolen and then found so then sent here by MPD. I saw the reviews online and was expecting a hassle, but it was the exact opposite! Jean, the lady up front, was so polite and helped me understand the situation better. It was unfortunate that I had to come here, but it is fortunate I was able to have Jean assist me with my car.
If they tow your vehicle check your vehicle for damages. The owner is rude and knows he damaged my car and tries to blame it on pre existing damages but I have plenty proof and witnesses.
When I went to collect my personal items my duraMax saw with blades and carrying case was not in the car.
Owner still has not responded to my inquiry.

They be pulling people cars for no reason saying false information then come to people apartments in the mid-mornings and pulled a cause and pull them to the street to put them on their record I've seen this with my own eyes I've been living over here in these apartments too long and they've been dealing with whites Towing for the longest and if they say your car is on flat I thought they supposed to give you a warning before they pull your car and they do not know how to talk to people the only person was nice was the lady that was in the office the men's do not know how to talk to no one
I watched these guys do a donut in a silver mercedes with dealer tag #0141560 in the cove on Wilfong 8/03/2022 at 12:09. This is the 2nd time I have seen them burning out the cars they tow in. I don't know what type of operation they run, but I sure wouldn't use them to tow anything of mine if you didn't want it dogged out. If you don't believe me ask any business on wilfong or podesta cove, they all have security cameras that could verify.
This is their second time towing my vehicle without notice. My tired aren’t flat, nor do I have an oil leakage, or any physical damage besides when they towed my car the first time and tore the back of my bumpers up. They are working for someone in Hillview Apartments off Alcy and Ketchum but yet they don’t give you a chance to even correct anything, because you don’t know. They only answer for people that they know during after hours and they sneakily tow cars away without notice. It was a vehicle parked next to mine that had flat tires, a few abandoned cars, and yet they still haven’t towed those vehicles. Expired tags as well! Do NOT TRUSR THEM! they are just a money hungry, scamming towing service.
I’ve watched this tow company for the past 2
weeks perform predatory towing practices, in a low income apartment complex. In fact, it is always late at night! The driver has no lights and waits until he is by the apartment entrance to place the vehicle on the flatbed. It is sickening, unethical and unfair. The owner has the right to be aware of the vehicle being towed. He/she should not be creeping as an thief in the night. Seeking to devour on the poor! I will be uploading pictures and reporting them. They think low income means not educated. The 1 star was one because they used the street light to place the car on the truck.
While the people inside the office were nice and helpful, but they left the sunroof open on a brand new truck that we had towed after a wreck. I don't even think the sunroof was open at the time of towing. And it rained in the truck for 3 days while we waited on insurance and the body shop to be ready. Of course they claim they don't get in the vehicles but they had dirty hand and foot prints all in it from something. It would not have been hard to look up and close the sun roof. Do NOT trust this company with your vehicle. It will come back worse then it left. Also, make sure you take plenty of cash. They "only take cash" like people just walk around with this much cash these days. Oh. And let's not forget the complete lack of verification they requested to confirm this truck was mine. They gave me the key and let me drive off. There was a males name on the paperwork (my bf and we are both on the registration) and not once did they ask for any proof that I should be allowed this vehicle. I told them I was coming for a Ram 1500 and they gave me the key once they had the cash. No questions asked.
Had a sticker given from the resident manager placed in the vehicle where it can be clearly seen and they towed it. Called the number on the sticker male answers he says there was no sticker. I said he needed to go look he acted like he wasn't interested in what I was saying. He stated don't tell him what he needed to do he hung up. Went to the company nice lady stated it should not have been towed. She saw the sticker. The car was to be returned. They should keep her and fire the driver . This company towes your car in the early morning hours while you are sleep. They tow your visitors cars too if no pass hanging in their carry. You can get a pass from the resident manager. But if you don't know anyone is coming how are you getting a pass if it's midnight. This needs to be looked at and handled differently. If a car is sitting then the manager should post something on the car saying it will be towed. SMH.
Car was towed from a Wendy's parking lot. Was my mistake, there were signs posted not to park there if not a customer, whatever, water under the bridge.
Problem comes where I try calling in to get an answer to where my vehicle actually is. No answer. Whatever, maybe they're not there.
I call back 6 times over 20 minutes, no answer. Maybe they're having a busy day.
I come on here and read reviews saying the same thing. Dawns on me that perhaps they are there.
I call someone up and head to the address. There are two people there. I ask for my car and get immediately told it'll be $155 to get it out.
Here's the good bits. I /then/, after getting told the price, get asked where my car was towed from. Shouldn't that happen in the other order you think?
The paperwork is then unfound. They do it in front of me. Confusion on which car was mine as well as confusion on how long it had been there (2-3 hours at most).
Here's a good little cherry on the top. No cards accepted, cash only. I also realize that I got no form of receipt for my transaction, so there's definitely some shady stuff going on here or the inner workings of a business are just being overlooked.
Either way, not the greatest place to have your vehicle blocked in by two degrees. Obviously extorted for extra money going into someone's pocket other than mine.
On March 22, 2018 between 12:00-1:00pm White's Wrecker service towed my car from out front of my apartment without proper posting of signs.
My car was parked in the confines of my apartment complexes boundaries and Mr.White towed my car and another residents car and has done this on several different occasions. Mailmen, UPS, Maintanence and several other parties park in this area with no problems. The signs posted do not clarify where parking is or is not allowed. The company then would not allow me to pick up my car by paying with my credit card and then got an attitude when I needed change when I procured cash. The company also attempted to close early knowing I was trying to pick up my car to attempt to charge me another days storage. I have clear pictures where the signs are for the towing company and where my apartments boundaries begin. The picture the company took of where my car was parked does not clearly clarify that I was in their boundaries. The company troll towes and takes advantage of low income properties. The business practices done by Mr.White are nothing short of criminal and his employees attitudes with the exception of Ms.Gene are nothing short of astoundingly rude. The blood donor center which is the property that has a contract with Mr.White even agree with the fact that he had no right to tow my or my co residents car. The towing company was hired to tow cars of students or people who illegally use the parking lot of the blood donor center, not to tow the apartment complexes residents cars. My car is clearly marked with a parking decal and I have paid to park my car near my apartment without the worrry of having my car towed.
So I'm a DOT safety compliance manager. I make sure all drivers are DOT compliant and drive safely. Apparently Mr. White does not teach his drivers the importance of SAFETY! I'm driving on I-240 and one of his wrecker drivers was in the far left lane coming up on Covington Pike exit. This driver literally almost caused 3 accidents cutting people off, trying to get off at Covington Pike. Then when we are coming to light at Covington Pike, he's literally riding in both lanes. As we get to the second light on Covington Pike, he hits the gas and was going every bit of at least 70 in a 45 mph zone. I would love for his driver to dispute it when i have it on dash cam. I do NOT recommend this company if that's how his drivers drive with cars on the back. That driver literally almost killed someone because he was trying to hurry up and get off at Covington Pike in the far left lane. I will be contacting DOT FMCSA and NCCDB and will provide footage of this driver. I can't believe we just let anyone have licenses now a days. Safety first Mr. White!!!!!!
You towed my car and don't pick up the phone....yet your hours clearly say 24 hours. Not only that I go to pick up my car and no one is there to service me. It was almost a whole day before before I could get my car. DO BETTER.
Well, I guess their "In Bed" with everyone because the owner of the Marathon at James and Hollywood had him ILLEGALLY tow my car after I left it from 12am to 6am WITH the attendants permission. $155!!! There was no where for my to get a tire before 7am!!!
Angela Webb is correct, this happened to me years ago in the same neighborhood . The homeowners association which consist of "two" people who are clearly not following the rules set in place by the by-laws which in it's self is against the law. They have been running this property ungovern for years. One of the "two" homeowners association people is related to the owner of White's tow because her daughter has a son by him ...but anyway , the so called "homeowners association "people walk around as if they can get you towed at anytime when they have a problem, but when one of the "2" homeowner association person's car sat for a long time nothing was said...they might be trying to do the right thing, but really the rules don't apply to everyone and White's tow is waiting like vultures to prey on the less fortunate and ridicule them afterward . In the end the "2" homeowners association people walk around and act as if they don' t know why "some "people in the community don't deal with them and White's tow is waiting patiently to help his " relative" out with his shady business practices.... It's a win win situation for both parties ...go figure
This company is making money by stealing cars and trying to make you pay to get them back! Just because a company has been in business for a long time does not mean that they do things by the book. These people take your car and do not provide paperwork. They don't tell you who had your car towed. They won't tell you where your car is once they take it. They turn the phone off so you cannot reach them during business hours. Rude and downright disrespectful. Do not let these people get away with this! Trying to make a quick buck and they won't get away with it! They act above the law. We shall see. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Beware!
This towing company is illegally owned and operated. The owner is friends with lower income properties in Memphis. The owner Mr. White does not answer the phone so that he can charge money for housing the vehicles more than a day. Mr. White does not provide proper notice to those he will tow and disagrees with any law that you provide. He states he has been doing business for 20 years. He has been doing business illegally for 20 years and uses his friends to gain business. He has targeted people that are less versed and lives in poor neighbors and steals their property. To many the most important property they own. A complaint needs to be file immediately against his discriminatory practices.

To begin, my boyfriend (emphasis on BOYFRIEND, not married, no legality to assume him and I are even together) had a court date yesterday on January 15th 2015 for a failure to completely stop at a stop sign, which is fine…and for some reason he was given a ticket, not one he could go online and pay however. He was given a mandatory court day…that’s besides the case. It is what it is, for whatever reason. We all know that when you go to the courthouse downtown during a day like the 15th the parking is hard to find since they are so busy down there. Unfortunately my boyfriend did not have any cash on him so he circled around a few times looking for a parking space. He finally found a legitimate looking area he decided to park at (meaning not too sketchy and dangerous looking for the downtown area) After he spent 2 hours in the court house he walked back to assume the car had been stolen….but then a sweet man let him know that the car had actually been towed perhaps just a few minutes of it having been parked. So he had to wait for a ride to WHITES TOWING ON ELMORE so that he could get the car back. After having explained to the man at the towing company he was informed there was a sign (no worries, I have attached pictures of this alleged “sign”) & he was also informed that there is a 24/7 scout (the “sweet man” I referred to earlier) that SITS AT THAT LOCATION, and probably others, to call in the tow truck as soon as anyone parks there (sheesh, at least give us Memphians a break and not have someone constantly there to rat us out and essentially steal our money) and on top of that, the man said “this is what I do when I am not in uniform” which I assume means that he may be an officer. Nice going officer! It’s almost as if you are running a “legal robbery” holding cars for ransom ($155.00 cash to be exact if only left there for 1 day). Now that I have explained that…..here’s where it gets VERY tricky.
My boyfriend, again please put the emphasis on BOYFRIEND, went to pick up the car….but guess what….that was not HIS car. That was MY car. Please tell me that the people who you have working for you (directing this towards White’s Towing Company) are not completely incompetent that literally ANYONE with a Hyundai Elantra key can pick up a Hyundai Elantra in your lot without having their name on their license (that you did not even check) matching the name on that Elantra. Basically anyone with a brand of key can go and pick up that brand of car in your lot. Let me just ask you, if I were to have left work to pick up my car and given my license with the name that matched the name on my car….what in the world would you have done? Tell me that you gave my car to someone else? (who again, has absolutely no legal relationship to me) I almost believe I could sue you for giving MY car away to someone you could have had no idea that had a relationship, if any at all to me (the name on that specific car). So you’re welcome for the $155.00 DONATION from him to your company, Mr. White (which actually he deserves a refund for the lack of professionalism you and your employees seem to have). It is 100% OBVIOUS that your business is either hurting that bad for money, or you’re running a seemingly scamming operation that you have to have someone sitting outside these “tow zones” to immediately call in tow trucks as soon as someone parks there….and yes your incompetent employee admitted that to my boyfriend when he went to pick up my car illegally.
