Definitely takes advantage of young people. Was staying at my friends apartment overnight and got towed from the “visitors parking” TWICE. Same thing happened to another one of my friends who was simply bringing a first aid kit to our friend, and had to briefly park in a “future residents” space. When he left 30 minutes later (after giving someone stitches, by the way), his car was gone. Another time I went to visit, their tow truck blocking the entire road, towing a car at 5:30pm (which was in a visitor spot, again), and backed up traffic for half a mile, which doesn’t sound like much, but it was rush hour, and the car they were towing was already hooked up to the truck, and they wouldn’t move. Honestly, they’re just incredibly annoying, and they take advantage of college students and young people who will pay their fee because they don’t want to argue and/or don’t know better. Good business tactic, won’t lie, but incredibly unethical. Do better. This is insane.

Called and was told a tow truck would be sent to me in 30 mins. An hour later no tow truck arrives so I call them back, and then I’m told that they have no drivers, and they can not service me in my area… this was after I already gave them the location and car information.

My daughter lives in 303. This wrecker service apparently has a connection with this apartment complex. The apartment complex and this wrecker service are preying on young adults who pay $1300 as is for this apartment complex, which includes the fee for parking. These guys from this wrecker service walk around and look for parking decals that are not visible even though they have the little sticker on the front of the headlight to open the garage. Hers had fallen down in the seat/floor area. They have towed my car that my daughter drives twice. $90 a pop! The first time they damaged the door. This is easy money for them because the parents are not around. They treated my daughter like garbage today when she went to get her car. I intend on calling the Knoxville News because too many college kids have posted reviews about how they are getting towed for ridiculous things. It's time to bring light to you people preying off these young college kids. Kind of interesting you walk around at 2 am when the leasing office is closed. Can't wait to shed some light on you people to protect all these young people at this apartment complex. Easy money eh? I know your game. I think this might be racketeering.... I wonder what the news channel will say?

I'd honestly give this company a proper 4 star rating if their rates weren't so high but this is what they do. They contract with nearby apartment complexes to allow them to come inside and see if there are cars that aren't parked properly which is completely fine, however, their fee to get your vehicle back makes no sense. If I was to call a tow company to tow my vehicle to a shop it'd be around $80 and you can take it halfway across Knoxville. However, with the power they hold, they will charge outrageous prices just because they towed you for parking in an incorrect spot. They towed me 0.5mi and they charged me $90 to get my vehicle back. I think that's crazy considering the fact that I came back 1 hour after my tow to get my vehicle and it's the same if it's 1 hour or 24 hours after. I'm pretty sure they damaged my under tray as well. Just keep in mind it's not worth parking in a wrong spot because it's not like they'll charge you $50 they'll charge you a whopping $90 to get your car back. It's pretty dumb if you ask me how they take advantage of the situation and charge such a crazy price for such little labor. It's just a game at that point

Very disrespectful, unprofessional. The owner kicked me out of the shop just because I asked to take the truck to a dealership to check it out before purchasing it. I told the guy I was coming from Dallas TX and still lied about the mileages. I asked if the truck had any problems and they said no, got surprised that the truck has a transmission problem after I checked it myself. Very mean, unprofessional, disrespectful people. they’re so shady and they lie about everything.

Highly wouldn’t recommend!!!!! My ball joint broke so I needed a tow. Tow man comes instead of pulling my car from the front he pulled it from the back instead of him straightening the tire if he pulled it as is. He broke the lower control arm and axle bent the fender back etc..after days of calling to get in touch with a supervisor they basically said there’s nothing they could do cause I have no proof that it happened. The guy knew he was in the wrong he didn’t even charge me for the tow. So they have no record of my car ever being towed.

Our Corvette broke down, and no tow service would touch it without using a dolly for fear of damaging vehicle. Floyd's had a dolly and was on the scene on a Saturday evening pronto, very impressed with the tow driver's expertise, thank you!

Probably the best wrecker service in town. I'm familiar with most of the drivers and the owner and they try to work to help people when they can. It makes no sense to evaluate someone poorly like some people have on here because their car was illegally parked. That's on them! The wrecker service only does what the private businesses and apartment complexes ask them to do. As far as towing cars for other reasons they are thorough cautious and take good care of all the vehicles that they tow. I definitely would call them before anyone else in town.

Towed my car for no reason my car was broke down sitting at the office went told the office that the dealership was having it towed and the tow truck was coming but because they didn't get there fast enough they towed it so know I have to pay them to get it back snd have the other towing place come get it from them

I can tell you that nobody is more reasonable in towing than Floyd's. My numerous experiences has demonstrated to me that he has a heart for people. He's been in business for over 50 years and has helped a lot of people in a lot of ways. The owner and the drivers will try to help people if they come in and are honest and respectful. Sometimes we only see one biased side of things in the towing business. I mean, who's going to evaluate a towing company and is happy that they got towed especially if it's not a wreck or hey call asking to be towed. If people get towed, and they don't expect it, it's normal to be upset with it, so I would also caution anybody who looks at reviews to consider the type of tow that's involved. For example, a lot of negative reviews seem to be from people who shouldn't have been parking where they were and they like to blame it on wrecker drivers instead of owning the responsibility that they didn't have a tag and were parked illegally.

This place wrongfully towed my car and admitted that it was their mistake. They refused to bring the car back because they were “short staffed” but when I went to get it there was employees sitting inside watching tv. The laughed about the “misunderstanding” and offered no apology or remedy for the situation other than telling me I was lucky to not have to pay them. Very unprofessional and unwilling to correct their mistakes.

We had to move our truck 3.5 miles down the road to a shop. They were honest when needing more time to arrive, and when ready our driver personally called to let us they were on their way. The driver was incredibly friendly and efficient, and knew their job well. We followed behind to the shop and the driver was respectful and responsible on the road. They were also the lowest priced tow in the area, and charged exactly what was quoted. Very pleased with their service and would recommend for those who need vehicles transported in town!

The first time I used Floyd’s, they got me out of a really sticking situation. Tuck was there quickly and did whatever it took to get my car back home. He was honest, understanding, and friendly. The next time I called them, he was going to be a little late but he kept in touch with me about it. The communication is great and I would recommend them to anyone for their towing needs.

Extremely unprofessional. Towed my vehicle from an open lot. Then it took them 45 minutes to show up and release the vehicle. Tow employee was incredibly rude and cussing at people. His exact words were “get the F off my lot”. Avoid this place if possible.

Excellent people that work here. The guy on the phone was super nice and honest about when they could help me. The young man that came out to change my flat was very professional and knew his job. Floyd’s is awesome! After waiting for 3 hours for AAA to show up, I called Floyd’s and they said they would be there in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, Clint showed up. Clint was amazing! He had to push my truck from the parking spot and load it up on his truck. Quick and easy! So nice to find a company who cares and is honest! I highly recommend Clint and Floyd’s !

While NO ONE wants to be towed, overall, I can't complain about Floyd's Wrecker Service. My vehicle wasn't damanged(from first look), all of my belongings were safely inside the vehile, in a gated lot. The gentleman answered the phone promptly and was able to confirm my vehicle was there. Had the paper work ready for me to sign when I got there so no wait. Nice plus. He knew I was upset, as most people are in the situation, but he remained very professional and kind. I appreciate that. At the end of our transaction he said I hope you have a better day, and that really stuck with me. My vehicle was towed from an apartment complex that Floyd's has a contract with (good job on them, guaranteed busines). At the end of the day, they were just doing their job and I thank them for doing their job well.

Towed my car the DAY I moved into my new condo that I had just bought and was not even renting. Towed the truck while I followed them to the towing station and still charged us $93 even though I own the condo and the parking spot attached to it. Incredible rude men who patronized me as a 21 year old girl alone at 10 at night. Literally the worst company and people I think I have ever interacted with in my life. I wish I could rate them lower.

I saw an elderly lady having car trouble and asked if she needed help. She said she'd called a tow truck, so I went on my way. When I came back the opposite direction she was still there. I called the tow truck driver and he said he couldn't find her so he gave up. I gave the address and waited with her. After we had waited for over an hour I called to check his progress. Never got an answer. Left my number with the recording. Finally gave up. Got her car off the street and drove her home. I never got a return call. For all that driver knows she's still abandoned on the side of the road.
