It’s kind of hard to scrape somewhere when you know the weight of your scrape just isn’t adding up. I got my ticket and seen the weight I definitely had a bad feeling it wasn’t weighing right like the ticket said. So I left and went right down the street and just wanted to see if I was right or wrong about the weight.The weight was 8,560 pounds at Baxwin Scrape Iron & Metal and at CMC was 8,260 pounds that’s a difference of 280 pounds which is 28 dollars. Idk about anyone else but I need all my weight of my scrape because it’s hard living rn and I don’t need a company to be stealing from me. The front lady up front was very helpful and had a great attitude.

CMC Chattanooga Crew was very helpful in coaching me through the entire process (from scale to cash in hand). The entire process took approx 20 minutes.
> Scale Attendant: Answered all my questions and gave descriptive directions on how to get to the drop off.
> Crane/Magnet Operator was careful not to hurt my truck while he lifted the scrap from it. He pointed out the broom/shovel so I could remove the remaining debris.
> Cashier explained how to hold the receipt at the cash dispensary & gave me a koozie/notepad/pen when I told her it was my first time there.
This was my first time bringing aluminum cans for recycling at this location. The staff was super friendly and worked swiftly to get me in and out. The cashier showed me how to utilize the ATM to receive my money. The yard itself seemed well organized. They gave me a small welcome gift as well! It's the small things like that to make you feel welcome and happy. We need more business's like CMC recycling! I will definitely go back next time I have cans to recycle. Thank you for being kind!
First time coming here. Everyone was very friendly & helpful. And, I ended up getting "bonus" money for my recyclables because of the amount I had. Didn't expect that.
Anything else I want to recycle will definitely come to CMC.
I am not a regular metal recycler, maybe twice a year. First time here and everyone was so polite and helpful. Being my first time both the people in the office and the guys out on the yard pointed me in the right direction and got me in and out. Unlike other places in the area that treat you like you are dumb and are rude when you show up. They even helped me unload which I have never had happen in any other yard (in TN, GA or IN). I wish I found this place sooner. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed!
Been going here for 3yrs and never had any issues. Always a quick and easy process. Does get busy sometimes but other than that, staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are pretty good. Quick weigh-in/out scales make it easy. Recommend checking out this place if you need to scrap metal

This place was so friendly . I normally don't go to recycling centers , because it isn't my hobbie to go there . But my step sister-in-law is son had some Aluminum cans piled up in a trash bag by there carport . And they asked me if I would take them to get money for the aluminum cans . And her son didn't have a truck . And he had small cars . And so they gave them aluminum cans to me . And at first my step nephew told me to go pass workman road . But I looked up on maps on Android phone and some people have them a 1 star ⭐ . And they said they wasn't to friendly . And so I looked this place CMC recycling center . And it showed a lot of stars ⭐ . And usually when you see a place with a lot of stars . That usually means it's a good business to go too . And so me and my wife Mrs King went there . We asked different people that worked there on how we do this . And they was so friendly and they showed us how to do it and I told them me and my lady had a learning disability and the lady understand and she helped us get the money for the aluminum cans . But back in the old days as far as I know on year 1980's or 1990's it wasn't like this as far as I know . It was a little different . And as far I know you didn't have to show your ID or driver's license . And the only thing you had to do is put the aluminum cans in a trash can and have them weighed . But we didn't get much out of aluminum cans and it was 4 trash cans full . And they weigh them . And we only got 21.00 on them . And my step sister-in-law is son said we would get 40.00 or 50.00 for them . We didn't get much for them . But aluminum cans must be at a cheap price . It weigh 165 or 164 . And this was our first time there . And very friendly employees there .
I will never go anywhere else. Super friendly, helpful, honest, and easiest payouts. They assist you with questions and advise you on classification so you get the best money.
I was cleaning my father's workshop and hauled off some scrap metal. Being unsure of the different types, I was afraid I would be embarrassed, but they were super friendly and a man helped me through the whole process. I highly recommend using this company, and if I ever need to recycle metals I will be back.
I've been going to this place for 15 years. They are the most honest, fair, and professional scrap metal buyers in the Chattanooga area. Do yourself a favor and trust me. The only drawback is they don't accept whole cars. (But they will if stripped and cut up)
I've been taking my scrap here for several years once or twice a year. Recently I have taken on the task of sorting through over 40 years of accumulated used junk engine parts. I have now become a regular familiar face down there. Hands down they have the best & friendliest service/employees. When my original scrap facility closed back in 2012 I had to find a new place to go. I tried PSC & the few experiences I have had weren't bad but the employees personality/demeanor was not that friendly/welcoming. Needless to say I have not had that experience yet with CMC. Jeff P. at the express tent is welcoming, friendly, informative, helpful & fast. One big thing for me is the experience of service (been in mechanical service industry over 25 years) Treat the customer exactly the way you want to be treated, make them feel comfortable with your service & build a trust relationship so you know they will always take care of you. I feel CMC does this. It will take many visits to establish this but I am seeing they will remember who you are after several visits. That shows not just a #. Lengthy review but they have my business as long as I have metal to scrap.
After 40 minutes of trying to figure out how to get into a nearby scrap dealer I gave up and called CMC. What a pleasant experience. When I called to see if they purchased aluminum cans I was greeted by a very pleasant voice who was friendly, said yes, and accurately provided directions from where I was in Chattanooga to their facility. She even gave me directions on where to go once I got there. Once I arrived a went to a small aluminum can recycling facility and was met with a very helpful employee who told me that due to the quantity of material I had I needed to cross the scale. He told me everything I needed to know to get to the correct locations. The scale man was very helpful as well. After dropping off the cans, and crossing the scale I got the meet the lady who was so pleasant on the phone. After processing the weight ticket when I was confused on what to do next, she met me outside and showed me where the ATM was and how to use the paper she gave me to get my money. From start to finish what a great experience. I highly recommend CMC.
I have been going to CMC close on to 20 years now. They have always been friendly, polite and helpful. There is just one thing I wish they would take, and that is whole autos. But, I guess you can't have it all. Over all I like dealing with them, so I gave them 5 out of 5 stars.
Today was my second time at CMC Recycling and i am very happy with my experience both times. The place is very nice and clean. Tim was very nice and helpful with my cans. Great! Inez was the cashier up front and was also very nice,friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back
Great place to recycle. They have the best pricing for your material. Super nice staff. Excellent customer service. Clean and organized facility. Best recycling facility I have ever visited. They treat you like family. I look forward to doing business with them again.
Friendly staff, clean facility. All staff members are knowledgeable, and always try to give you the best price. Express Center makes it easy for cans and small amounts of brass, copper and aluminum. Crane is great for when I have large loads of steel, and want a quick, hassle-free unload.
It might have just been a busy day, but I found out hard to find anybody to help me. The man at the front office was nice and told me where to go, but when I went there there was nobody around to help me. And I saw a few other people who seemed to be waiting for help as well. Can't fault the place for being busy, but I did eventually just leave since it didn't seem like anybody was coming to help.
The service here was friendly and speedy, it was my first time and I wasn't exactly sure what to do, but I was assisted with clear directions. They take aluminum cans and steel (tin) among other items. If you go online, you can find all of the prices for your needs. You can also get coupons and specials, and sign up to be a preferred customer. I took a bag of cans and got $2.50 - just to give you an idea. I think this is a great business and very clean and organized. If you have items you are about to toss, thing about what you can recycle and get a little cash for first!
