They wouldn't allow me to bring in my scrap on a bicycle after 10 a.m. yet they are open and taking loads from motor vehicles until 10:45... Total BS I rode this bicycle for almost 5 miles to get here only to be turned away because I got here at 10:05. These people are horrible don't come here

I have scale at home that I use for shipping packages and last few times weight has been correct. Not today, they shorted me 2 lbs of clean copper. I been weighting my copper when I realized they don't give percentages of a lb so I been making it a few oz over a lb. They straight up took 2 lbs from me. Over a course of a day how much are they shorting ppl cause you can't see what weight you have.?
I tear down houses and I take all of my scrap metal here. It's a little bit crowded especially when you come with a huge dump trailer, but the staff helps you get around. Now that they made the scale bigger with the weight showing, its a million times easier and better. Everyone is nice and professional especially Taylor. For everyone who say their scales are off an they're ripping you off, you are wrong. Every time I stand on the scale it shows my exact weight. So if a huge scale that is meant for tonnage is sensitive enough to weigh a human. I'm pretty sure is 99% accurate. Thank you Baxwin and all of your employees.
We weighed on the platform at the GRAVEL yard , before going to dump off , there off big time . They ripped us off 200 pounds . That we know was on truck, weighed with nothing on truck 5,264 pounds, with scrap 6,207 , have copies and pictures before & after, (943) they said it was 743 scammed out of 200 pounds, Stay away from this guy. (We don't need the money it was all a gift to a Veteran who was homeless and we were just letting him clean out the old storage unit. ) it's sad that people are so greedy!! Remember that you can't take it with you @@
Total rip off at this place. They don't show you the weigh of your items. My company brought a whole truckload of aluminum wheels and they only gave $81. They are crooks. Don't use this place.
It was difficult to get in and out but other than that I was pleased. Don't know if I trusted the scales but after a week of consistant weigh in and out I gave them a thumbs up. Only thing is getting in and out. Its not easy when its crowded. I'd go about 11 to 2 if I were you. Staff was friendly and the money was good.
They riped me off about 2000 lbs they pay more but chest u on your weight bad, don't go there, psc metels pays 45, cents a pound for alum baxwin pays 20, cents a pound
Yard is a little small for now as they are clearing it up, but better price offered than other scrap yards. Small spaces to maneuver a trailer so be patient and follow directions in the yard. Good people working there.
The last time I was there, the scale was "accidentally" off by a few lbs and consequently my overall weight was not nearly as high as it should have been! What should have been a $100 + pay day turned into a $50.00 disappointment! The issue was resolved, but it still gave a very bad impression of its business practices and I have subsequently avoided taking my scrap metal here ever since! Heard they are under new management management now though, so maybe things have changed?
Our company is located in the Chicagoland area and we needed to scrap a forklift in Chattanooga. I looked these guys up and made arrangements. Received our check yesterday (within a week) for exactly what I was expecting. Thanks for taking care of out of towners :)
Two kids, fifteen years old, and smart asses (Beavis and Buthead) try to undercut, downgrade, disregard items for example : pure copper out of a Sony TV------>they try to call it aluminum. huh?They're bullies, rude and try to rip off desparite people using the lowest prices to pay out and just treat the the ones like 'take it or leave it' knowing that the person probably is in a situation beyond control.. Scales are wrong too..
