What clients say about American Tow & Recovery in Chattanooga (TN)

I want to thank Eric for the amazing service that he provided today. Was super nice and friendly. Arrived quickly and treated me with respect. Got my car hooked up super fast and made sure to take pictures to document everything. Got my car back home safely thanks to Eric and while in an otherwise crappy day had really good conversation that helped take my mind off the situation for a bit. Thanks again for everything and would recommend American to anyone!

If I could rate zero stars, I would. I had to get my vehicle towed via insurance. My insurance used a third party "Agero," (which is also just as bad, as these folks), who promptly picked American Towing & Recovery, to pick me up. I sent this request in around 1:00pm and did not receive service until nearly 8pm. I was not present with my vehicle, as after waiting over three hours and no communication, I called and was told it would be at least another hour. I left my key with my vehicle and was assured by the driver, he would take care, of my asset. My vehicle was towed to the service center, without a hitch, or so I thought. After having my vehicle repaired, I picked it up and noticed huge gashes, on the spokes and edge of my rear wheels. I then noticed my camber was off on my rear drivers side wheel. After further investigation, my mechanic came back to me and found, they bent my rear control arms, destroyed my wheels, broke my sway bar stabilizer linkage, ripped out the mount bushing, on my sway bar, and destroyed the clips, to hold my front bumper, as well as my passenger side wheel well. My vehicle was parked in an angled parking spot. I'm quite certain what this company did, was chain the rear control arms/rear wheels, in order to pivot my vehicle. I believe they did this, because my vehicle was in a tight spot, but not unreachable in the slightest; might've just been more work than the driver wanted to do. All of my suspension and wheels are aluminum alloy. The bending and gouging on these parts not only made them structurally unsound, but made it extremely dangerous to operate my vehicle. Was I, as the customer, informed? OF COURSE NOT! They'd rather someone be out of pocket thousands of dollars, and or seriously injured, or worse, than operate their company, with courtesy and professionalism. Their negligence could have cost me my life, if I drove my car, with these damaged components. When I called my insurance, to inquire who I needed to take up this matter with, they informed of Agero, being the third party I would need to file a claim against. This company is just as objectively sorry, when it comes to customer service. I sent in photos, filled out their damage form, and retrieved an estimate, of damages with a collision company, (Oh yeah they don't send an adjuster, or pay for transport of the vehicle, if it is disabled), Agero never followed-up. I had to call them multiple times, to just get a confirmation they received my email. They tell you they'll call you back, but that's not the case, and every time you call, they'll tell you somehow you need to give them more info. Finally having enough, of dealing with Agero, I came to American Towing & Recovery, who I had not informed, of the damages. Well their answer was, "Their insurance already told them they weren't liable," and "They had before and after photos." When I asked if I could have the photos, the lady told me "I have to confirm, with my supervisor, but I'll call/text you back and let you know." Well it's been three days and all I've heard is crickets. So, they either have them and want to make this as difficult, as possible, for me to be whole again, or are so execrably crooked they lie to the customers. Either way they don't care about you, and or the situations they facilitate, to the unlucky customer. Accidents happen, I get it. However, I was un-informed of these damages, which would be pretty difficult to look past, if you're the tow truck operator. I am very disappointed, in the abhorrent customer service and frankly the disregard, for an asset, that for most people, is the most expensive item they own. Absolutely disgusting sham of a company, would not recommend them, as far as I can drive my car right now, (FYI my vehicle is inoperable).

I called at 8:05am and they arrived at 8:00am, I was greeted with a firm handshake and smile from Robert Casey. He was instructing and mentoring a trainee, also whom, did an exceptional job loading my Jeep with no hassle or stress from me. I want to wreck another car just so I can have phenomenal service again. I would trust these men with my life, when I’m gone I hope they’re towin me to the pearly gates. 12/10 service would highly recommend.
