Had a great experience with them when my wife’s car tire blew out. They got there super quick! Melissa was also very kind and helpful when the tire center I originally was gonna use told me all their techs had quit (just my luck)! She quickly dispatched the driver to an alternate location. Price was very reasonable based on my personal experience with other towers. Definitely recommended!
Great experience and customer service. Driver, Wesley, went above and beyond in getting my containers in the perfect spot. I made the mistake and had one of the containers loaded wrong, but he was able to position the truck and got it absolutely perfect. Highly recommend them for any shipping needs.
Ordered a container from BoxHub who set up delivery. These folks are great. Called the night before to confirm delivery and arrived right on time. I had a very tight yard to work with. The driver did an excellent job dropping it right where I needed it to go. He was an excellent driver. It certainly was quite a display of talent. He was super friendly and the staff that called was excellent as well. I have had several containers delivered to me over the last few years, this company was certainly the best. FYI they use full size tilts. Don't expect a f450 no matter what BoxHub says.
Great service. Wes backed all the way down my road & into my backyard to drop a 40ft container. Even driving a Huge truck with a tilt-bed trailer you can’t even tell he drove in the grass. If I ever need anything moved I know who to call

Faith provided the best customer service, she knew I was stressed on the phone so instead of just getting my information and what not, she sat and talked to me on the phone about the situation and made me feel 10x better!! My driver, Anthony, kept me updated on his arrival and even helped me understand what the dealership was wanting! This business is truly amazing and I will always recommend them to anyone.

The man that came to tow me was immediately trying to figure out what was wrong with the car himself in an attempt to “safe me some money” which was so sweet. He jumped my car, let me drive around a bit then loaded it up and very SAFELY got it to the next destination. He burned his hands on my hot car to help push it around as needed when it ran out of gas. Customer service is so clearly a priority for these people and I am absolutely using them every single time I need a tow for the future.
I am so grateful for this experience because every other towing company is so rude and throws random fees at you when they are upset.
I've had to use American towing 3 times and each time they've been great. On one occasion there was terrible traffic, go figure in Charleston, the driver made sure to keep me updated since arrival was taking longer than expected. Great people!
This tow service requires payment in advance in either cash or card. $130 is the fee for a full tow service but if the full tow service wasn’t done completely, $130 should not be provided! Very unsatisfied and it is very UNACCEPTABLE for not even 1/2 a refund to be offered for 1/2 a tow pick up job which resulted in my car not being towed anywhere. Employees talked over me, hatefully explained the service’s policy and hung up in my face twice. Hung up in my face when I was defending myself and explaining the situation. I could have easily asked for a full refund and rather than 1/2, correct? What great customer service huh? Right, catch my sarcasm but the employee conduct was rude as hell and immature. Very ugly demeanors with me! Will not be using service here again. I agree about the FURY of attitude and lack of professionalism. Be careful how you treat people and what you do to them!
I have never left a google review but wow i have never been so impressed with customer service ever! I got a horrible flat tire and spent 2 hours waiting for AAA tow truck. After waiting for so long my dad called around for me and got ahold of American towing. Within 30 minutes of getting ahold of them they were at my car with it on the tow truck. Anthony was so great and such a big shoutout to their whole team! 10/10 service!
We used American Towing Service to move many of our commercial vehicles for our company and today I made a mistake with truck length sizes and had ATS send the wrong truck out to pick up my vehicle. The payment would've been 400$ for original tow. ATS called me and let me know of my mistake and I felt quite embarrassed and thought I would still have to pay the 400$. As soon as their technician was on site they informed me they would send the proper truck out to tow my vehicle and reduced the price by half as my vehicle was less expensive in their system. WHAT A GREAT SERVICE. Even after my mistake ATS gave me the benefit of the doubt and had my truck picked up SAME DAY. USE ATS!!
Towes Vehicles on weekends and you can’t get the car out only during people’s working hours .you know M-F 9-4 as a result they purposely run tabs up as if some one isn’t already in a hardship. You can run a tow business make money but to operate and be greedy is something ima make sure everyone knows about this policy I’m contacting

Yesterday, an Uber driver decided to be late to a reserved (a two weeks prior made reservation) ride and then cancel on me. So I ended up having to drive myself to the cruise port and park there at the last minute. I was originally not wanting to do so because an Uber both ways was cheaper than parking and the tropical storm was coming. I figured it's not ideal or my first choice, but parking at the port will be ok, thinking this storm will be like any other tropical storm we get, maybe some lawn furniture overturned and a little rain. Then I woke up to today's news about 20 inches of rain with 4ft storm surge and started seriously worrying.
Thankfully American agreed to go get my car, with me on a cruise ship in the Atlantic, key fob with me, and take it back to my apartment complex in Summerville. And they are doing this at a cost that is less than half my deductible. I wish I had called them first after another company told me they wouldn't do it.
I run a rolloff dumpster company and this has been the only towing company that has not completely inflated costs but also made it super easy to work with. Alex towed me out of the landfill to our repair shop and he even dropped me off back at my yard after, for free. Alex was professional, super nice and went above and beyond. Melissa in the office has great customer service--especially in a time of extreme need and frustration!

Melissa was enormously helpful when my brother broke down on I-26 during rush hour. My mom and our whole family was terrified for him being around so many cars on a sliver of shoulder. Melissa was so empathetic- she told us how she understood how scary that was and that she would do everything to get someone out there and make sure he was safe but told my mom to check other places to see if anyone was closer. My mom called tons of other companies- all quoted an hour or longer. Melissa called my mom and let her know she had someone who could go right away. By the time my mom finished confirming- the tow truck was already there. He made sure my brother was safe riding in the cab and Melissa called my mom again to update her when they reached where the car needed to be towed. Absolutely exceptional service. The empathy and emphasis on safety with their customers is unmatched. We’re so happy we called American Towing.
Friendly and prompt service! Twice already this year we've needed a car towed to a shop from our house and both drivers each time were super kind, chatted with us a bit, and I've never seen a vehicle get hooked up so fast but also so gently. I've had terrible experiences with towing companies in the past, but I have complete trust in these guys with any of my vehicles in their care.
First tow we scheduled the pickup and drop off -- the process was super straightforward and pricing up front.
Second tow was unexpected and had to wait a little bit, about an hour or so, for the next available driver. But that was to be expected for any unplanned service need on a busy holiday weekend.
We scheduled a 40 foot container delivery in a space that just barely met the delivery requirements. It was a tight squeeze, but Wesley maneuvered everything to exactly where we wanted it. He was quick, courteous, and got the container squarely on the supports. Highly recommend.
My girlfriend and I scheduled a tow for 7am on a Saturday. They confirmed the date and time over the phone, sent no confirmation. And come the day of the tow nobody showed up, their phone line said to call back and I couldn’t leave a voicemail because it was full. Waste of time, money and effort. Do not recommend.
Customer service from Melissa could not be better. Best experience from a tow company you could have. Will for sure be using them for any needs in the future.

I have mixed feelings for this place. When I used them at the dealership I worked for they were wonderful. Took care of my needs quickly and were great to deal with. Soooooooo when my sons car needed towed last night I called. Lady was kind of short with me told me they could not pick it up then which was fine. I told her it was in a parking lot and just needed to go about a mile down the road to Stokes Honda. She said to call back in the morning around 10 am. Called back this morning and was then told her driver would be busy all morning and she was not sure they could do it today. I waited to call this morning to give my business to a company that I always enjoyed dealing with. I guess she thought I would just call someone else yesterday and not wait till today. It's sad that you had a customer who chose your company, then was willing to wait, to then turn away again.
The company was very responsive and easy to work with even with us having to reschedule a few times. The driver, Wesley was on time, very efficient and friendly. He knows his job well. He did an awesome job! Will definitely recommend and use again if needed. Thank you!!
I got 2 different sized containers moved to my property . The office people were pleasant and helpful and their prices are better than any other company I called. Both drivers came when expected and with great communication. Wesley was fantastic and very pleasant! He knew how to maneuver his truck to pick up and place those container exactly where they needed to be in very tight place with many obstacles in the way. However... there was a huge difference in drivers! The "other" driver was total opposite. So if you need a towing service I recommend asking for Wesley as I would never use ATS again had I only experienced the other driver. I would not hesitate to use this company again.
Josh was kind enough to help me with a tow two times recently. He was very fast and efficient, and very friendly. When I called for a tow, I was immediately very frustrated and angry, because I was expecting to be waiting for hours. He was there in less than 45 mins, jumped my car, and didn't charge me the full fee. When I had to call again, he was there in less than 45, again and come to find out, the cost of a tow is only $95? I cannot recommend this company enough, and if you have the fortune to get Josh to assist you... count your blessings, cuz he is fantastic!
My Moms 2013 Hyundai Sonata needed to be towed to the HYUNDAI dealership as the directions told.
The Driver dropped it off at STOKES HONDA. When we found out because somehow Stokes had our number and said they had our vehicle. We then called the towing company to tell them they dropped it off at the wrong location and we were met with a FURY of attitude and lack of professionalism. They woman receptionist stated “drivers called out”, and “go pick it up yourself”. Even refuting that we TOLD HER TO DROP IT THERE? The ignorance we experienced we NEVER wish for anyone else which is the urgent reason for this review. Do not trust them with your service.
Sent the PO to ship the container from SC to NC, and that was 28 days ago and whenever I call for pickup, I get an excuse from Robert that the truck is broken or something. My customer is getting upset because this should have been delivered 4 days after sending the PO to them.
So if you need a company for speedy delivery and reliable one, I would recommend you NOT TO USE AMERICAN TOWING SERVICE.
The team over at American Towing was quick acting and took care of me and my situation in a timely manner. They provided excellent customer service and made sure I was up to date on the towing process.
