I have been patient with this company for a few years now but now it’s getting ridiculous. They show up late and don’t even collect all of my trash. During one trash pick up the lid of my trash can was broken and I have yet to receive a replacement after putting in a work order weeks ago. Many people in my neighborhood are switching trash companies and now I understand why.

Very reliable service. Good communication overall when the norm has to adjusted around Holidays and bad weather. If you leave anything outside the standard container, most likrlely will not be picked up.

Nicole was very professional and helpful with my account changes and took care of my concerns right away. I've enjoyed GFL services for many years and I appreciate how Nicole and GFL treats their customers.

At first it seemed like a good company , representative was nice, everything went smooth I paid In full and was told I didn’t have to worry about payment for 3 months , 1 week comes trash wasn’t picked up realized I put the trashcan 1 foot apart instead of 3-4 .. ok my fault I fixed everything to their liking because there is a lot of rules you have to go by. still no pickup the next week but I’m so busy with moving in and the holidays I didn’t realize at this point my trash is filled to the brim but it got picked up the following week so I didn’t call, off to a rocky start but since I’ve been so busy i didn’t call , ever since then it’s been on and off pickup and random times , sometimes they pickup some times they don’t and after this last time I called and they said my account has been on hold for 2 weeks because I owe 40$… for a startup fee , even though it was never mentioned to me I still gave grace and paid because my trash is to the brim falling out like always , guess what? Still no pickup the following week!! Just called and canceled my service because they said there is nothing they can do since I didn’t call.Don’t waste you time getting this service unless you like to call every week to remind them to pick up your trash :)

Just moved and never used garbage pickup before. I called GFL to set up pickup. Customer service was very friendly and thorough. Even after the "snowmagedon" they delivered our pickup container early! Would definitely recommend GFL services!

Just signed up with GFL through the Piedmont office. I was assisted by Nicole. There were a few issues on my end that she helped me work out. She was polite and personable, great customer service. Excellent employee. Thank you.

After the snow storm our residential pickup was delayed by one day. Unfortunately, on the pickup day my can wasn't emptied. I called the customer service office and spoke with Tammy who was most helpful! I explained my issue, snd shared that I totally understood that the drivers were working hard to catch up on missed pickups caused by the weather. Tammy stated she would send the info about my missed pickup to operations. The next morning, at 6:30 am my can was emptied! Thank you GFL for the hard work you all do!!

After a number of days of extreme winter weather in my area, GFL worked diligently to get back on schedule. One employee went above and beyond. In the early morning, I noticed GFL was on my street (still catching up from the storms). I stepped out onto my front steps to give my driver a wave "hello", which he reciprocated. When I went out to roll my garbage can back into the garage, I was surprised to find that my GFL driver had rolled my can up my long driveway, leaving it outside of my garage door! What a kind gesture from a very busy man...

Worst trash service company in the Upstate. Horrible customer relations, incompetent drivers and no accountability for missed pickups. Had 2 straight weeks of missed pickups and they keep saying next week or next day and flat out refuse to issue a refund. Don't bother wasting your time or money with this company, they are beyond useless.

Have no other option but to use this company because no other company services my address as I’m on the city line . They are inconsistent with trash pickup (no complaint to the drivers this is a management issue ) and when you call to ask why you just get a receptionist with a nasty attitude . Only once have i spoke with someone who was kind and informative ! I try to be understanding no matter ! But the woman running the phones isnt helping your buisness what so ever :) this place isnt perfect but gets it done ..eventually . To the receptionist at antioch church rd location . It cost YOU more to be ugly and its free to be kind .

The price keeps increasing while the service is declining. There is no notification of increase in billing, just a higher balance due. Our trash was not picked up on Friday, when I called to see why they blamed it on the weather, saying the snow prevented trash pickup. The snow didn’t fall until SATURDAY so it would not have impacted Friday collection. I asked why an email was not sent out and they said “we don’t do that” and if you look really hard on our website you can find a notice of weather related closure. I reiterate that Friday there was no weather issues and she said “I’m looking at it right now” That’s wonderful that it’s on the website right now but it was NOT on the website the day my pickup was missed and THERE WAS NO SNOW FRIDAY. It’s the minimum to send out an email saying that pickup will be delayed by a full week. My husband called and they told him that Friday they had a mechanical issue with the truck and so they planned to pickup Saturday but the it snowed on Saturday and they didn’t work Monday so now they are just gonna pick up a week late…. Dude what!? We ask if we will be credited for the missed pickup and zero communication and they said “we don’t do credits for weather related delays” THE DELAY WAS DUE TO A MECHANICAL ISSUE ON THE TRUCK which pushed you into a weather delay. Can’t be bothered to send an email about the delay but I sure did get an email that my bill is due and it went up again.

This company has the worst customer service and trash pickup service. I put my trash out on Sunday night for pick up on Monday. My neighbor has GFL for their trash pick up, and their trash can is about 20ft from mine. GFL stops and picks up my neighbors trash and “accidentally skips” mine with the giant GFL logo on the side! At this point, we’ve placed three phone calls and it’s now Thursday morning. My wife called Tuesday morning and spoke with someone. I called Wednesday morning and spoke with Tammy and she basically said she wasn’t sure if they would come back and get the trash. Today is Thursday, and I spoke with Mary, who was very nice until she pulled up my account and saw the past couple of conversations then she starts to get real aggressive and tells me once we call in, it takes 24 to 48 hours to get someone back out. It’s Thursday, it’s been well over that 48 hour mark since the original call on Tuesday. This company is a joke! My next call will be to management! The GFL website has no contact information for managers listed anywhere. When you pay for a service you expect customer service and not to have notes placed in the computer about you being an aggressive customer. This isn’t the first time they’ve missed my trash pick up either! If I started missing payments could I just say we don’t pay missing payments? This company needs to work on customer service or hire people who care about their customers!

Very poor customer service...skipped a pick up claiming issues with getting to our part of the neighborhood due to congestion but funny thing is UPS, and competing trash service were able to make it through. Do better GFL.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. I think they have missed more pick ups than they have actually picked up from my house. Every time I call I get a different answer and they never follow through with anything. Currently, they have missed two weeks in a row, and I have called almost every day. Every time I talk to them, they say it will be picked up the next day. That has absolutely never happened. Update: after talking with them several times and explaining the issues they seem to have figured it out. They haven’t missed a pick up and even showed up on Friday after Thanksgiving like they said they would. I’m very pleased with the service so far.

I have been getting service for 8 years now. I am so tired of the missed pickups. I sat my trash out on Wednesday for Thursday pickup and again, the didn't pick up! I am sick and tired of paying $86.25 quarterly and can't get my trashed picked up on time. The rates have gotten ridiculous. When I started service, I was paying $45 quarterly. I am gonna cancel my service and find a more dependable service provider!

Excellent, quick, and professional. Nicole with customer service was very friendly and took care of my questions regarding service discontinuation or having renters using the services once we move. We've been a customer for 6.5 years, and other than a trashcan vanishing once last month, we've had no problems whatsoever! Oh, and they replaced the trashcan free of charge within 3 days, just like they promised on the phone when I called! We've had no interruptions to service, even through Helene in 2024. Thank you, GFL! I wish we could take you with us to our new home! Unfortunately we are in the city and won't be needing it. Thank you!

Absolute worst company ever. I tried 3x to cancel my service but they kept billing me. I returned the trash cans myself because they said it could take up to 2 months for them to get them. I was not going to leave my cans on the curb for 2 months straight. Darlene in Customer Service is the only good thing about the company.

We’ve had a terrible experience with this company. They miss pick ups often, leave our can laying down in the road, etc. When asked about crediting us back for the missed week I was told “we don’t just give out credits. You need to call within 24 hours” but our pick up is Fridays and they’re closed the next day. If I had another option, we’d be taking our business elsewhere but unfortunately this is our only option. They broke our lid off our can about a year ago and it took MONTHS to get it fixed. Terrible service.

I sent an email to get a quote, and it informed me to call or go online for new service. I first tried online to set up service but had no luck because there is no way to start 'new service' online. I read the email several times to make I didn't miss a step. I then looked up my local branch and called the number. I tried several times, and no one answered, it rang for a long time and then you get a click. I left a message and finally someone called me back the next day. This should of took 5 to 10 minutes, not 2 days.

If I could leave negative stars I would. Don’t waste your time applying for this service even if it saves you a buck or two. Absolutely worthless. We started the new service at the beginning of July. They missed us the first day of pickup we ran after the truck and said that we were new to the route and you missed us, the driver confirmed our address and said he’d be back by. Next day it still wasn’t picked up. Called for trash pick up she said she would dispatch someone in 24-48 hours. They came on basically the 49th hour. We were hopeful for the next week (this week). Yet again trash pick up was missed didn’t notice till 5pm and they were closed. Called at 8am said someone would be dispatched in the next 24-48 hours. We are now over 48hours from due service time and nothing has been done. We’ve received an apology and been told to “keep our can out” as if I would bring my trash down and backup each day? And we’ve now been backed up on trash for over 48 hours two weeks in a row. I would recommend this service to nobody. Ever.

I just started new service with this company and only on my 2nd pickup in the Anderson SC area. Their website stated that July 4th, (Friday) pickups will be delayed to Saturday. Well..I left my can out on Saturday based on the info on their website. Never got picked up. I called CS and they said they sent messages out multiple ways to let their customers know that their drivers did work on July 4th. I never received a message. I check phone logs, Email and Spam folders and no messages were sent to me. The CS lady on the phone of course gave a generic apology that sounded scripted. This is their 1st strike with me. They get two more then they are OUT!! There are 2 other companies in my area that offer services.

PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME! I have had this service for about three months (recycling & trash) and it’s been inconsistent throughout. They will be collect trash but recycling is extremely inconsistent, despite trash & recycling receptacles being placed SIDE BY SIDE. Three consecutive collection weeks, the recycling was left. When we contacted the company, they insinuated that the receptacle was not present, however it was & I had camera footage to prove it. They then stated they consulted with the driver but it would be 24-48 hours before it could be collected. One time I was told they could send the truck back out but I would have to pay (for their mistake……). Which I refused to do, so I had to wait the 48 hours. They claim to have cameras on the truck to see what is being collected but I do not believe this, as when I asked for footage to confirm they arrived to picked up the recycling “but there was none to collect” (they did not show up to collect it) the contact person reported it was not available. I was given a credit then when I asked for the service to be cancelled (due to almost a week of the recycling not being collected) they took it back LOL these people are unorganized and a joke. Just save your time and money.

Have been trying to get a lid out on my can or replaced can since Aug 22, 2022. I have called many times since and have been promised they would fix or replace. I have given up. My trash gets taken out by animals and the smell is bad in the summer. Your service is great otherwise and I I am well pleased, but please help me. I am happy we have garbage service. I was just a little left in the dark with no explanation after two calls to you and an email as to why our trash that was to start on the 17th just got picked 6 days past that date on a missed pickup. I get that we are new but nobody seemed to care we were forgotten. Not a good look for anew customer. Glad it was fixed. Look forward to doing business in the future

Terrible Experience ... Don't Waste Your Time! I signed up online, paid my bill, canceled my existing trash removal company and never heard from GFL again! I had to call them back two weeks later only to hear them say that they don't serve this area. What lousy customer service! They reversed the charge, but I had to call to find all this out AFTER I had already canceled my existing trash service and after they accepted my credit card and gave me an account number and payment receipt. I can't believe how poor service they offered. Really is pathetic.

Worst customer service I have received in recent months. DO NOT USE THEM. I cancelled my service a month ago and I am being threatened with a $75 charge after “4 attempts” of picking up the trash can. After the first missed picked up I called and the told me they where behind. That’s when I went to my communities page of Facebook and wrote to bare with me as it will be left out and spoke to the HOA president about this issue. That was on 8/18. I left the trash can out for 3 weeks with a note to pick it up and received 2 notices from my HOA about it being left out. Waste Industries claims that it has never been out to get picked up.
