Very grateful to Mike for his help and honesty in diagnosing my son's vehicle on a Saturday. We did not need repairs right away but will make sure that if / when future repairs are necessary, Fast Bay has earned our business! Thank you, Mike.

Mike is awesome! I needed to replace my rear pads and rotors in a pinch before leaving for a big trip. He did my brake job quickly and for a great price! Very courteous and always picks up the phone. I would use him again for future work on my car.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else! He’s trustworthy and timely! My dad found his place and referred me and it was the best decision! Very knowledgeable and he is very easy to deal with and communicate with. Highly recommend!

I never leave reviews but they deserve it . My daughter is a student at Clemson , we drove her car from NY. The day before we were leaving to fly home her check engine light came on and her headlight went out . It was a Sunday and I was stressed leaving my daughter with a car having issues. We called and they answered when every other mechanic in town was closed . We went and spoke with Mike he assured us he could fix it, the next morning we flew home knowing my daughter’s car was in good hands. She was able to uber there the next day to pick up her car and it is running great. If we ever have an issue again we will 100% be calling them!!

Was told by auto parts store that my battery was fine but I needed a starter. Took my truck to Fastbay to get a starter. Owner called me an hour later and informed me it was just a battery. He charged me nothing and recommended where to go for a quick cheap battery. I have found my go to mechanic.

I can’t say enough good things about Fast Bay. They got me in right away, diagnosed the problem with my engine, and had it fixed in no time. Friendly, honest, and fast service. I’ll definitely be coming back.

This morning, we were experiencing some issues with our Ford Escape. Mr. Mike and the team at Fastbay Automotive found the issue, got the parts, and fixed it before Keenan had to go to work tonight. I got to talking with him, and he told me about his experience teaching student mechanics and his passion for cars and fixing them. Mr. Mike is kind, thorough, and fairly priced. I have nothing but nice things to say. Definitely give Fastbay Automotive a try!

I can't accurately rate the quality of work because from my interaction with this business, they're scammers. I'm not sure how he has so many reviews talking about "best prices". My fiances car broke down and at the recommendation of the tow company had his jeep towed to Fastbay Auto. When he was quoted a price to replace the alternator they quoted him $1000 for parts and labor. When given his estimate, it was for over $800 in parts and less than $200 in labor. What made me skeptical was the outrageous price for an alternator. I asked my fiance to put me on the phone with him and asked why the PARTS were $800. All he told me was that in total the estimate was around $1000 and handed the phone back and refused to speak to me further or explain the cost of the parts. I was at the same time looking up the exact alternor for his jeep and getting the range of $100-$300 for parts. I had my mechanic father go up to the shop and pick up my fiance/talk to the shop owner. He showed my dad the part he was looking at on HIS site for advance auto and showed my dad a $650 alternator (the cheapest he said he could get). My dad did the same thing I did and once again found alternotors that were no where near $650 (again in the $100-$300 range). We decided to leave and find a different shop. At the suggestion of my father, we called a reputable auto parts store that sells better parts than advance and they told us AT MOST for his jeep the part would be $250. Had it been the labor that was so high we may not have even questioned it. But I am extremely upset at the mans unwillingness to explain the charges to me, and the fact that I had to ask my dad to go and have the charges explained. I feel like this man was trying to take advantage of a younger person with no running car and a dead phone. I waited to write my explanation of review until we were able to have his car towed to the shop my dad recommended. I will update this post once we get an estimate from a reputable shop that doesn't try to scam its customers. Edited to add: I took my dad's recommendation and called a reputable PARTS STORE and priced a brand new alternator for a max of $250. My dad also bought a brand new Peterbuilt alternator for his 18-wheeler for less than $300. I will update further when the reputable shop we took it to gives us their estimate. If it's ANYWHERE close to the estimate given here I will GLADLY remove my review. Not to mention my dad is a mechanic and has rebuilt cars since his teens. I will take his advice over a mechanic trying to overcharge for parts. Final update: As promised the REPUTABLE shop my mechanic dad recommended quoted us $679 for the entire estimate which is over a $300 difference from Fastbay. Once again I will reiterate that we were not pricing "rebuilt or DIY parts" we were pricing brand new quality (and OEM) parts from a reputable parts store. The $300 difference is in the jacked up $800 alternator price he quoted us. I left this review because I only saw glowing reviews and was shocked that this was the treatment we received. He refused to even have a conversation with me on the phone and break down the price. Yet he easily showed and had a conversation with my dad. I just want other people to be aware and do their research and make sure you know exactly what you are paying for.

Mike was amazing!! Our battery died at 6:30pm on a Monday night and he tested it, jumped us off, gave a great recommendation, and perfect customer service all for free. Highly recommend fast bay and Mike especially when you need good quality service

The man let us take our car in on a Saturday afternoon and already did the work before the day was over. I couldn't believe it. It cost half as much as another place estimated as well. He's really friendly too.

I have done business with the owners of fastbay for over 20 years and in that time we have become good friends. I can tell you that anyone with a bad experience is probably the one to blame. Mike and Shona have an impeccable work ethic and are some of the most honest and forthcoming people I know. I have sent friends, family and colleagues to see them with never a negative experience. He is and will continue to be the only person to touch any of my vehicles. THANKS MIKE!!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. I had an extremely disappointing experience with this mechanic and would strongly advise against using their services. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. The service I received was unprofessional and dishonest. I initially took my car to have the alternator replaced, and was told it would be ready for pick-up the following day. However, I received a call just an hour later stating the car was ready. When I arrived, the mechanic informed me that his wife, who is not a certified mechanic, had performed the replacement. I paid in cash and left. The next morning, when I started the car, it began shaking. The following day, my wife drove it to a local store, but the car wouldn't start. Thankfully, a kind stranger was able to help get the car running again. I returned to the shop for an inspection to ensure the alternator had been installed correctly. The mechanic requested an additional $120 for this inspection, and then abruptly left the shop. Shortly after, his wife emerged and rudely insisted that I either pay the diagnostic fee or leave. This experience left me questioning the integrity of the shop, and I suspect they may have caused further damage to my vehicle. I have never seen them actually fix a car at their location, which raises concerns about their credibility and professionalism. I would have preferred to pay three times the amount I gave them to have my car fixed by a certified and honest mechanic. This experience has definitely been a lesson learned. An update: I forgot to mention that they said you need to replace the fuel pump. I went to another mechanic and said nothing is wrong with the pump. I was told there was an issue with the connection to the alternator. BTW, I paid what your husband asked for. I never negotiate prices with mechanic to do their job efficiently. You're such a liar.

Our son broke down in the parking lot of his apartment near Clemson university and I called Fastbay to help. They came and towed his car, diagnosed the problem and fixed it all within a 2 hour time period. They were so sweet, understanding and helpful. We are 2 hours away and felt helpless being far away and unable to be there to help him. Thanks to Fastbay, his car is up and running and ready to go all at a reasonable price. We can’t thank them enough! Awesome people, awesome place!

Ive never left a Google review before but Fastbay Automotive is deserving of it. Mike was friendly and extremely helpful. He broke down how to check different aspects of my car and got my vehicle in and out extremely fast! Would definitely recommend.

Mike is an excellent mechanic, really knows what he's doing. Get your car in & out with reassurance that you won't pay for anything you didn't want fixed. Got my car back within the day. Stellar work!

I sent in our vehicle to get looked at was having starter issues. Mike he fixed the issue and didn't do work that wasn't necessary was honest and transparent. He was available to us on the weekend was very nice and convenient. I will be doing business in the future it is good to have an honest mechanic they are hard to come by.

Excellent. Honest. Fair. Thought I needed front brakes. Mike and his wife proceeded to remove my front tires and discovered I didn't need new brakes after all. Saving me a couple hundred dollars that another shop perhaps would have not hesitated to charge!

We needed out A/C worked on after receiving a ridiculous estimate, Fastbay was not only able to return a much more reasonable quote but it was also fixed in less than 24 hours. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of getting work done.

When I say this is the best place I could’ve taken my car, I mean it! Clemson student here, Jeep grand Cherokee was having issues and the same day I gave them my car it was immediately getting worked on. I got my car back the next day running good as new! The urgency and quality of their work is unbeatable and the prices are the best around. I’ll be going here any time I have an issue with my vehicle. Thanks Fastbay!

My 1998 Landcruiser is finally back up and running knock-on wood. I hesitate to write this review solely based on how well it has been running since leaving Clemson for summer break in early May. Mike has been the man since early October when I had to have my car towed to him after a water pump failure and check engine light. Since then, he has been my guy, as everything under the sun that could break has broken in my 26-year-old car. He has done excellent work with everything from the water pump to numerous electrical issues, alternator replacement, cooling fan, and overall wear and tear. I know you may be reading this and thinking oh man, this dude got fleeced. Well, being a college student with little knowledge of cars, I know this. Mike was always available to look at my car, whether it was late on a Friday night or the eight times I had to call him because it died in a drive-through. We finally figured out all the technicalities, as he specializes in electrical systems. Here is my final verdict… if you are looking for someone who cares about you as a customer and your car as a whole, go to Mike. He will get the job done and is about as genuine and helpful as they come. Thank you, Mike and his Wife.

Here is my experience. I scheduled the appointment for today(4/13/24). I called yesterday for the price and Mike said $150 fix. I requested price from multiple mechanic places like Jack’s, Bud’s etc. Fastbay and Jack’s were the cheapest options for me. Today I went there without knowing that I need to drop off the car. That’s okay. It was my bad I didn’t ask about it and considered it’s just only 30 mins work. Then, I dropped the car. I waited for 4 hours. I got a call from his wife I’m assuming. She told me the price is $319. I questioned why. She told me there is an extra charge for weekend meaning the labor rate for the weekend is high. That was no told to me yesterday again. I said okay I don’t want my brakes to be changed. I said I’ll pick up my car. I went there. I talked to Mike directly. He told me it’s $330. Here we go. I said your wife told me it’s $319. He said yeah something like that. I said and concluded my talk with Mike : “ that’s not cool though. You wasted my 4 hours time. I did the same since you could find another customer. “ so yeah. This was not acceptable. I was aware there could be extra charges for the other parts or issues like rotor etc. But this is not cool. I heard many good reviews about them but it looks I’m the first one who got bad experience.

If you have any issues with your car, go see Mike, no second thoughts about it. Car wouldn’t start and wasn’t sure what was wrong. Got towed to Fast Bay and Mike got us going in no time. Him and his wife were the nicest people and we’re glad we went to them.

Fastbay is fantastic! I needed a piece of bent metal removed from the bottom of my Corolla. Mike booked me for the next day, charged me an incredibly reasonable price, and did exactly what I asked. He even let me slide under the car myself and talk with him while he worked. And on top of that, I was in and out in under 20 minutes! If you're looking for a friendly, honest, hardworking mechanic, and want to support local small businesses, go to Fastbay!

My car broke down and I had it towed to Fastbay after reading all the reviews. The reviews were all accurate! Mike was very thorough in explaining what he did to our car. I feel his prices were responsible and he is honest. Service was performed quickly and I was able to pick up my car on a Sunday afternoon. I have found my new mechanic!

New to the area 2 years ago. Had a noise coming from my pathfinder. Called and made an appointment with Mike. Mike and his wife are top notch. They were honest, trustworthy and fairly priced. They got my car fixed up faster than I could have ever imagined. Thank you guys for being such a great local small business. Will certainly be back to have work done on my vehicles here.

Mike is an absolute lifesaver. I just got. new car that was already having an issue with the MAP sensor. Initially, we thought it was an issue with my air filter assembly which had its screw holes stripped. A trip to the hardware store later and it’s still throwing a code. I called Mike back and he was very quick to have me come in again and was determined to figure it out. I was supposed to drive my car to Charleston and Mike squeezed me in and replaced my MAP sensor within 24 hours. If you are looking for a repairman with experience, honesty, and determination, call Mike. He made me feel super comfortable and really knows what he’s doing!

I called this man because he was the only mechanic open after 6pm on a Thursday night. Meineke told me the repair I needed would be $500 and take 4 days, but on a budget and a time crunch I called this man, and he told me come straight on. I went, he figured out the problem and fixed my car all in less than an hour and then even told me not to worry about payment! He was truly a blessing to work with and I will NEVER go anywhere else!!! He even told me his wife had just had surgery that morning and he was going to just look at the car in the morning because he had planned to go tend to her. While I was waiting on a ride, he stood there and kept me company and ended up diagnosing and fixing my car in that little bit of time. This man was pleasant, honest, and very understanding of my situation. Thank you so much, Mike!

I was up in Clemson far away from home and started experiencing engine trouble. It was 5 PM on a Friday and none of the other auto shops were picking up their phones. Mike answered my call and let me pull my truck up to his shop. He diagnosed my issue in 5 minutes, patched my truck up, and sent me on my way. He didn’t even charge me for it! Mike is a great guy and a lifesaver, give this man your business. It’s not very often you see nice and genuine people like him.

My son is a student at Clemson and experienced a coolant leak which required a new intake gasket when he arrived at school. This happened on a Sunday and I called Fastbay to leave a message. Mike returned my call shortly after I left a message and addressed the repair the next day. Friendly service, precise diagnostics and fair pricing. Mike communicated well with me and my son and did everything he could to get the repair done as soon as possible. Very pleased with Mike, his customer service and the expeditious repair. I highly recommend! Gary R.
