Love the campground. Great relaxing. TRUE old time family time. We will always come back and and have family memories

The campground primarily caters to seasonal long-term campers, with only a limited number of non-seasonal spots available. It is conveniently located near water and by our destination, making it suitable for my family's needs. However, the pricing seems high relative to the overall condition of the grounds. Additionally, many of the seasonal sites appear poorly maintained, which diminishes the campground's overall appeal.

My family has been coming here for years and years. The bathrooms are cleaned every single morning so they are always clean & fresh. The staff are so nice & welcoming! We love coming here every summer

Since we just came here for one night to rest , we didn’t make the full experience but I can say, that the lake close to the entrance looks beautiful in the morning or evening and the restrooms were clean. I was not happy with the trash on the sites we have seen there. I know it is the peoples behaviour but I made other experience on other campgrounds were the service teams put immense of effort to get the sites clean and get rid of plastic and other trash until new customers are coming.

Just make sure if you are coming from out of state to stay here that you aren’t relying on anyone for transportation or sight seeing especially if you are from out of state. And if you are here to work at the campground also have your set days and stick to it. If you want the best of both worlds meaning the camping experience but also be able to come and go as you please and also work be clear about the hours you can work and I can’t stress this enough, bring or rent transportation. Relying on the staff or management to bring you in to town or take you site seeing isn’t going to work out. One of the biggest things I think they need to change is having a shuttle van or a small bus and not using personal cars to take people to the store. It’s odd. I think that if anyone is coming here from out of state to work here but also enjoy there summer at this beautiful campground but they are on a budget and struggling to afford a rental especially not a days that the camp should have vehicles that those people should be able to use for a small fee. And make it easier for them to come and go ad they please.

The park was easy to find. It is located about five miles from down town Wakefield. There is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are a mix of pavement. gravel and dirt and for the most part in good condition. Our site, 14, was a back in that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30/50 amp and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is close for a rural park. There are a lot of seasonal sites here but none looked trashy. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was neat, tidy and well cared for. There is park included wifi but it was very poor. We could not even check email on it. Our Verizon hot spot worked well. We did find some OTA channels. Satellite might be difficult in the treed areas. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean. There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay overnighter. We paid $60.00 per night and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.

Great place to go if you are visiting Narragansett RI and need a waypoint in your travel. No tents. Call ahead if you have a travel van.

People who ran it were really nice. Very active campground and just a nice place to relax. Thanks for having us.

People have said that the staff was unfriendly and they were disappointed. This is a nice clean quiet campground not far from the ocean. There are not a lot of activities here but there is so much beautiful shoreline to explore nearby it’s a great place to sleep. We found the people and staff friendly. The owner actually delivered our firewood. Very quiet at night. We will return

I'm absolutely in love with this place. My family has been camping here for over 20 years, and I would definitely recommend camping here to any and everybody.

We met the nicest people here, including the owners. We lost some pop-up camper parts to the streets of Cambridge, including our winch handle, and the owner, his son, and a fellow camper helped fashion a tool and then cranked our top up without the handle! They saved the day for us, and did it without a second thought. Will definitely go back here!

My family has a camper here and it’s a beautiful place to go! Private pond in walking distance and also the beach is just a few miles away! Great location and great family place!

Friendly and welcoming campground in a perfect location! Swimming pond with its own beach on site and only 20 minute drive to the ocean. The bathrooms are always stocked and clean. There are 2 playgrounds and 2 large fields for plenty of room to play.

Lovely, wooded, clean, safe area. Close to the beach making it a convenient location for a great vacay!! The pond itself is beautiful, great for small children ,especially !! Kids can enjoy fishing with their parents!

As the name states, family friendly. That includes your furry family too! Relax by the pond or chill by your campfire. Much to do in the area as well!

The worst & dirtiest campsite I’ve ever stayed at. Way to many people and the nastiest showers I’ve ever seen (prison has better showers) I’ll never stay here again!!

Very nice and quiet campground for the weekend visit! Bathhouse was very clean with free showers. Close to Newport and Narraganset! The pond is across the street and is beautiful! Staff was always on site and were very friendly! Big bundles of dry pine sold here for $5 a bundle. Closest store is 15 min away so stock up on beer and food prior to arriving for the best experience!

This campground is a mix of transients and seasonal people. Each year we always enjoy or time here being close to everything. All very nice and friendly staff as well as campers who respect each others space, but willing to lend a hand when needed, Having the pond to relax at, paddleboard, take the boat out on etc, is a big draw for us when we go. There are not a lot of amenities, but we like it this way. A lot less going on and a quiet place to have a fore with friends, go for a walk. Close enough to all the beaches and great restaurants, for us it is a great location for us to do a lot of nothing but have a great weekend either way.

This campground is not a place where we will be staying! The state of of this campground is egregious. The first thing to welcome one in at the entrance is a pile of JUNK. Some of the sites are nice, but the majority of this campground looks like a dump. And the woman at the front entrance was RUDE. Good thing there's plenty of people who have trashed this place, because we won't be joining them!

The only thing I can say is, ask to go back inside the campground before booking. I don't know where these reviews come from, but just look. they must give good prices on long term campers. We were very disappointed, stayed one night, then left and stayed at a State Camp Ground close by. The difference was night and day. Nice enough people, but I just cant give this a good rating, sorry.

Excellent location. It's near Newport and block island. We took the ferry to block island which was only a 30 minutes drive. The owners are helpful and they take very good care of the property. The dump station was well laid out too. We found a wonderful diner (The Old Mill Diner) for dinner and breakfast that was only 15 minutes away.

If you are looking for basic well then this is the campground for you. |No full hook up sites. They do offer to pump out your black tank. However the gentlemen only works week days. No general store. Just ice and wood are available. The dumpster were over flowing with garbage. The moths were so bad. When we are in town again for our annual soccer tournament we will search for another place to stay.

Great campground and very nice staff. The bathrooms/showers were immaculate. Great location to see lots of attractions in Rhode Island. Easy to get in and out of the campground. Across the road from the campground is a lovely pond and little beach (don't let the word "pond" fool you - it is the largest freshwater "lake" in Rhode Island). Only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is the sites are a little close together with no privacy in between.

We camped here for 10 days while exploring southwestern Rhode Island and nearby places. Positives:||1. Friendly people.||2. Central location, mid-way between Newport and Mystic.||3. Well off the road.||4. Great kayaking right across the road on Worden's Pond or down the road at Tucker Pond.||5. Many trails to walk nearby as well as several good beaches.||6. Clean restrooms and hot showers.||||This campground is quite large, but most of it is allocated to "permanent" mobile homes. Only a small area is available for short-term campers, and there the sites are quite close together with essentially no vegetation screening them from one another. I would have given it a "5" if not for that. But, at least in September, it was fine and very quiet at night.

Campground has been open for more than 50 years. Sites are basic with water and electric, gravel or grass and gravel. Campground has clean restrooms. Access to beaches and fresh water at Worden's Pond. Quaint town of Wakefield, RI nearby. Great place for old fashioned camping without lots of amenities.
Aug 16, 2013 -
We were surprised to hear of a campground in RI that offered hook ups for an affordable price and were hoping to love it, that didn't happen. ||There didn't seem to be any amenities besides the hook ups and playground. The "camp store" only offered, eggs, wood, and ice. It's mostly a seasonal campground with very few rental sites, and we were definitely treated as outsiders. The lake is very far and beach is not that large. And one of the owners was extremely rude to one of our members solidifying our decision to never return.

I was there years ago and remember spacious sites and weekend entertainment. The lake is great but it is a distance from most sites.||The sites are small and very close together as if dividing the old sites in half. Will not return,a disappointment ||We actually left 2days early

When we arrived 1 day after our group we were given another site, not the one we had requested. You have to pay in full 10 days prior to your arrival date, and if not the "computer" makes your site available. This is according to the owner. We had called the Monday before arrival stating we just read our confirmation about paying in full and were told not to worry, we had a site. 3 other families with us didnt pay in full but got the sites they requested. We were basically told that we possibly could have not had a site upon arrival, and we traveled 4.5 hrs. The owner said they usually call and we didnt receive a call but two of our friends did. There is no sewer either, so we would not go back there. Not far from the beaches, but not much to do at the campground either.
