BUYERS BEWARE! Especially of the towing services! I was charged $107 to get my car towed from the Dunkin’ Donuts by Shaws in Wakefield , to the moble across the street from D’Angelos. That’s a ten second drive under a quarter mile!!!
The driver waited til AFTER my car was on the truck to tell me the price. It seemed like the frantic situation I was in was taken advantage of to make a quick buck! If the cops call the tow service it’s honestly in your best interest financially to refuse.
Anyhow… I was told when I called later that it is $7 a mile and $100 JUST TO PUT YOUR VEHICLE ON THE TRUCK! I was better off putting it in neutral and having the cop push my car one minute down the road.
They towed my car from an accident and charged me $275 for tow fees in storage fees to sign my car over to them. They wanted the title and both keys the fonts had I known I would've told it from the accident scene with AAA for free And sold my car as pots and made a couple thousand dollars. If I wanted my car back I would have to have it towed out of there and pay them $560 and I never asked them to tow it. I guess the police department did seeing I went to the hospital. Avoid this place if you can to all my friends and family they don't care about the individual all they care about is making money, no matter who it cost and how much it cost. 0 stars from me
We have been taking our cars to Northup’s for decades. Louie, Doug, and all the mechanics are highly competent; Mark in service is helpful and Leo the manager is a rockstar of a human being, always on the lookout for cost savings or timely options.
These guys were fair enough with me to score 5 Stars. They discovered my engine problem efficiently and rectified relatively inexpensively. I would have assumed a little less but it is 2024 and inflation is real.
I was very pleased with the work performed on my BMW at Northrups. It needed new shocks and Matt replaced them and I had my car inspection done too. Their customer service is highly commendable and professional. Pleased to recommend Northrups for automobile service.

Terrible experience with tow truck driver will be reporting to AAA. The tow truck driver, absolutely refused to tow my car to my mechanic and brought it to his facility therefore charging me a fee for storage. He also refused to accept a credit card over the phone from a family member for payment. He was mean spirited and rude and was rough handling my car. I would never use them again
I have gone to Northrop's auto for more than 20 years. They have always treated me well and fairly. Their work is excellent and I have never had to take anything back.
My visit to Northup's was to seek a 2nd opinion on needed repairs diagnosed by my auto dealer. Northup confirmed the needed repairs and were authorized to perform the repairs. They did so expeditiously, issued my State Inspection sticker and all is well, a quick resolution. I will be back in the future.
Fixed my tire leaks, changed engine oil. And they are reasonably priced. In my opinion, honest service.
The front desk person has the patience to listen to people.
Excellent service! Brought it in for brakes and inspection. They went out of their way to get it done, and it was way cheaper than I expected! Will be back for everything I need on my car!
This is the place for your good, honest mechanic. Worth the wait. Worth the struggle of finding a place to park the car. They had a chance to say I needed new brakes. I was moving across the country and pulling a heavy trailer. I would have believed them. But they said I didn't need new ones, and I still had a good 20k miles on them. These are good people.
I had a what the F moment in my work truck north up towed it to there facility business as usual but I was stranded coming from Vermont delivering goods in RI
The brothers hooked me up with a water much needed after being in the sun for a few hours very awesome guys asked about where I was going to go for the night I had a hotel in the area so they offered to hook it up with a ride to the hotel Naturally with no working vehicle I said yes they really tried to make a bad day to a positive day an I have to say it worked thanks guys I owe u two cold ones each . U got to love family owed Businesses they always give that one little bit more to make u feel at home
I can't say enough about the positive experience my daughter had here! She had an issue with her tire, I'm out of state, I called ahead, and as busy as they were they still helped her! Patched her tire and she went on her way. Nice to know there are still caring people out there!
Clean professional service at affordable prices you know when you bring your vehicle to Northups the job will be done right on time and priced fairly Leo at the front desk will call you when your car is ready and let you know if it needs anything that was not discussed when it was dropped off. You can count on them to do a professional job.
I can’t say enough about the service I get at Northups! I’ve been bringing my trucks there for over 5 years now. They’re the most honest mechanics I’ve ever met. Leo at the front desk is the man!
I went to another local garage 3 times to repair something simple (a new thermostat) . Finally after a lot of frustration and money, I decided to go to northrups. Leo took good care of me, repaired my car in 4 hours and at a good price. I am very happy and will stick with these guys for a long time to come.
Had a transmission issue out of town. Conveniently worked around my schedule and got my vehicle moving again. Unfortunately my transmission is shot but they were able to get it driving well enough to get me home four hundred miles away.
I was stuck an hour away from home with my keys locked in my trunk feeling pretty desperate. I called AAA for lockout service.
Eli and Emily showed up from Northup’s and although they got in the door, the trunk mechanism was disabled and we couldn’t get in the trunk.
They spent the next hour searching YouTube videos on how to get in the trunk of my car and wouldn’t you know it they did it!
Talk about going the extra mile for a stranded customer.

This is the second time I have had troubles with their tire pump. They never seem to want to fix it or listen when I say it
is not working.Today, it removed more air than added. So I am sitting here waiting for AAA with a flat tie. I will no longer buy gas here. Will look for a gas station with working tire pump and more responsive staff.
I'm in my fifties and when I was younger did work on my own car. As I got older and busier (and had more money) I went to numerous service centers/garages to have my vehicles repaired/serviced and although most did good work I always felt I was paying for more than I was getting. Northups understands how expensive it is to live today and what it means to put children through college. They do excellent work, at a fair price and stand by their work. To me that equals Value for your money and makes me a loyal customer.
