Nice bunch of guys...I walked in with my car limping 500 miles away from home. They didn't fix the issue, but came out and used a thermo-cam to diagnose the issue. I was at least able to get home without destroying my engine.
They took time out of their day to help a guy out.

Undeniably the best service around! You can trust the quality, reliability, and PRICE of Jr's. Auto. I trust him and his staff with the safety of my family through and through.
Called and scheduled a state inspection appointment at 2:00PM. When I got there around 1:55PM, I was told that he didn’t remember me calling. Three of the guys who worked there including the one who “does not remember me calling” looked at me as if I was a stranger strolling in their own block. They weren’t even try to make eye contact. Then around 2:35PM, just 35 minutes after the time he gave me, he said they need to take care of another customer. So I got in my car and I left. One of the most terrible customer service experiences I had to go through. So rude and disrespectful.
I was traveling and heard a distressing noise. I found JR’s and he told me to come back in an hour. He found the problem and fixed it right away, getting me back on the road. Great service. So grateful. Thank you!!!

John just called me to inform me that it is unlawful to sell a used transmission for my 2009 Honda Odyssey. I very clearly had stated this morning with 1st interaction that I have a 2006, so I had to correct him. Mine is a 3rd generation. An 09 is a 4th generation. They can not be interchanged as they're not the same transmission. He was rude, short with me and basically hung up on me when I stated that that's interesting because someone else can get me one from CT. Very unprofessional. Loud and obnoxious.
The staff here is still extremely nice. They have a good sense of humor, and my appointment took an appropriate amount of time for what I went in for. Yes, the street can be packed in the garage location, but if you come at your appointment time they'll be able to help you in without much of an issue.

I came to visit my bestie for 55 yrs. My mechanic in Connecticut had quoted me $399.00 to recharge my air conditioner on my 2016 honda civic. My friend said take it to our mechanic, he's great. They gave me a quote more than half of that price and had it done it less than an hour! I am soo grateful. Great guys great job. Highly recommend!!!
I've been going to these guys for a decade at this point, and I always come back to them because they are honest, hard working, and let you know exactly what the problems are and how they're going to fix them. If they feel your vehicle isn't safe to drive when you take it in, they won't let you leave, and they tell you exactly what needs to be repaired.
I've had so many other auto shops break stuff on my car and pretend it came in like that. I've had some that consistently try to upsell. I've even had some that would charge you insane rates and they still screw up. Not with JR. And the very few times they did screw up, they owned it.
This shop was recommended by another mechanic in the area who was too busy to get us in. They got my AC compressor replaced very quickly and did the work at a reasonable price. Owner even offered to give us a ride back to the RV park we were staying at.
Highly recommend this shop for quick service and good prices.
Friendly and honest! I went to the dealership with my Hyundai, and they wanted to charge me $1500 to diagnose why my car is burning so much oil. The mechanic at JR’s suggested I may need a new PCV valve and to just bring it in to him. He was right, it saved me well over $1000!!!
John always gives us fair prices, gets the job done pretty quick and is always courteous and friendly, we don't go anywhere else. I am so happy this is where my husband and I now always go.
Dude on the phone was very ignorant. I guess because I'm a female, I seem broke and like I don't know how a car works nor how to fix one but when I asked about pricing, he replied "well since you've got money, I'm gonna charge you 300". Just because I said I could pay for the services doesn't mean I'm rich but even if I wasn't or was, that was unnecessary.
I needed an emergency repair and they were very honest and quick. They took so much care of me since i was about to have a long drive and i was alone. They made sure the car runs perfectly. I respect honesty very much and they were the best! I will go back if I have any issues-god forbid- because I know I can trust them. I had so much trouble with previous mechanics because they take advantage of the fact that I know absolutely nothing about cars-other than pressing on gas and on breaks lol- but I know they are to be trusted. He was very very quick I got my car fixed in 30 minutes!!!!! No other place will ever touch my car again.
I’ve been going there for at least 20 years never had a problem and John knows exactly what he’s talking about fair prices. If you can give more than five stars, I would I’ve never had an issue there.
Cannot say enough good things about JR and his team. Being a young woman trying to maintain a car can be a nightmare with mechanics trying to take advantage of you, but I have not once worried about that with JR. I recently drove 2 hours from CT just to have him look at my car because I knew I could trust him to be upfront, honest, and reasonable. My mom and I won't go to anyone else for our car issues. Despite being extremely busy, he got my car in, evaluated, and fixed WITHIN A DAY. He discussed the extent of the repairs needed and worked with me knowing my budget, then exceeded my expectations. What a gem of a shop. Matamoras is lucky to have him.
Very nice people, great to work with. They were quick and efficient and actually inspected your car how it should be done. If I'm in the area I will definitely use them again for repairs.
I needed an emergency brake service about halfway through an 8 hour ride. I pulled off the highway and searched auto repair shops near me. I went to JR's because of their high ratings and was glad I did. The owner was friendly and accommodating. Even though the shop was busy, my car was on the lift within 10 minutes, and the brakes were replaced within an hour. The rate was comparable to a recent brake replacement we had on another car. Both the customer and repair services were excellent. If I lived in the area, JR's would be my go-to for any auto service.
I can't enough about the positive experience we had. My son's car had a coolant leak on I-84 East just inside the NY line. It was late in the day and I called JR's. john was extremely friendly. I had the car towed to JR's. They looked at the car within the first hour of opening the next day and ordered the parts needed. As soon as the parts arrived they installed the parts and had him back on the road to New England. I would recommend JR's to anyone. Excellent experience.
John and his crew were able to help me early on a Friday after I started hearing noises and smelling something burning during a road trip from NH. He looked at my car and diagnosed my problem (blown compressor, fuses) within 15 minutes of calling to see if he had time for me, then got a mechanic on it right away so that it was all fixed in 2 hours for a fair price.
I got to chat with him, as well as observe his interactions with some of the locals, and it was obvious that he is an experienced and trusted mechanic in the area. I am very grateful for the prompt service and fix that allowed me to continue on my way without having my weekend spoiled!
Great place!! Had issues with our car on our way back from Vermont on vacation at 2:00 on a Friday and he diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in under 2 hours and we were back on our way to Ohio. Recommend to fellow travelers and locals!!!
You can't beat these guys for auto repair. One of the most honest mechanic's I have ever met. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and attentive for a busy shop. Check them out , you won't be disappointed
