I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this company. My first order took longer than expected and they gave me a credit. Their customer service is too notch. They always reply to emails quickly. 🚌

They are very professional, I purchased a part and needed it for up coming event. They called to ask if they could change my shipping and got my part fast. Next day... on a Saturday. Thank you for going the extra mile for your customers...

Pete was super helpful over the phone and helped me solve my issue with a good attitude and humour. I will definitely contact them again!

Bus Depot has been one of the most amazing vw parts vendors that I have used. They actually get stuff out the door when its ordered and if something isn't in stock they communicate quickly and provide a solution.

They advertise/stock parts that they don't have! The PayPal refund was prompt, but I'm not happy that they said that they had the part, but they didn't. Bus Depot - either sort your stock keeping system out, or stop this false sales policy (whichever it is). Edit after owner response: Thanks for responding. "Not in stock" isn't written on the mobile site, and the "Special Order Item" has "Availability: Usually ships in approx. 5-7 working days" written next to it. How am I supposed to know that this means that the items aren't in Stock? I appreciate your response, but the reasoning seems faulty. Many thanks.

I cannot recommend The Bus Depot highly enough. I had placed a large order of parts for my 1979 Volkswagen bus, which I was in the process of restoring. Their customer service team went above and beyond to confirm my order and ensure it was shipped promptly. The parts were exactly what I needed and arrived in perfect condition. Unfortunately, right after I received my parts a fire destroyed my barn and VW bus before I had the chance to use any of the parts. When I reached out to Bus Depot to explain the situation, they were incredibly understanding. They graciously allowed me to return the parts and even waived the usual restocking fee, a small gesture that meant a lot. The Bus Depot exemplifies what excellent customer service should be. Their dedication to their customers makes them the go-to place for Volkswagen enthusiasts.

Paying more for shipping on an oil filter was painful. Slow to ship. Wrong Wheel bearings sent. Parts not in stock. Never received credit. But it was my first dealings with this company. Hope you have a better experience.

These guys are so lame... Parts ordered (shipping$$$) parts came, parts missing, and wrong parts sent. Told wrong parts, were right parts, even though sku different than what ordered. Told ,sure send back at your expense, minus 10% restock, and have store credit. I would go elsewhere, lots of options, my experience not good.

I’ve ordered from Bus Depo several times and have found them to be ok. I think the main problem I have with them is the lack of online instructions/ videos . The instructions they send with some products are pretty vague. I recently ordered a new pop top canvas and the instructions clearly state that you MUST watch the video from them . Long story short there is no video . I ordered this over the holidays and couldn’t get any phone support or advice. When i finally got hold of them they did try and help but I think it would be easier for everyone if the instructions were a bit better . Now I totally understand the pop top install can be a bit finicky and some improvisation is necessary . I also ordered some new E code headlights and upgraded to the ultimate kit . The kit itself is high quality and the parts they provide are great , but again the instructions aren’t great . I think overall Bus Depot are pretty good but with some pretty simple improvements to the website they could be great

If you like bad customer service, emails about shipping cost changes when you order was supposed to have already shipped, and having to cut your parts out of the spray foam filled box. Then by all means use these guys. I had to eat $150 in shipping when they told me it was going to increase by that amount AFTER it was supposed to have shipped. It then took me 30 minutes to Literally cut it from the spray foam filled box. WILL NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN

Website was very clear. Price was competitive. Shipping cost was reasonable. Part arrived on my doorstep the 4th day. Packaged well. Part is exactly what I ordered. Props to Bus Depot. I will order from you again.

My original review is in the next paragraph, but I just have to make an addition - I strongly feel all the bad reviews are really bizarre circumstances and not even the fault of Bus Depot! Keep in mind they just made a huge move too. If you're just looking for parts for your old VW and follow normal ordering conventions this is a great source! The customer service is better than some people claim too. I got a box of spark plug wires with one missing, gave them a call and they sent me a return label, and even sent me a replacement box of wires immediately without waiting to get the return! Pretty good online store, it's so nice to have a good selection of VW parts on the east coast (I live in RI and my orders have been arriving in a few days with standard shipping). Prices and availability are also better compared to other online stores like Gowesty and Van Cafe.

Sub par customer service. Company does not respect its customer base. They outsource orders and when my package arrived late and smashed with no contents they are trying to make me liable. I will never order from them again. Try van cafe or gowesty, you won't regret ordering from them as you may with the Bus Depot

My items were “drop” shipped they haven’t show up in over 2 weeks. When I called for help and asked if I can return them when they arrive(late) as I’m going to need to order elsewhere they said sure with a restock fee… won’t be ordering front them again.

My first order came without a hitch, so I kept thinking it was just back luck that my second two were fumbled. But now, after a third, I'm done. A lot of wasted time with these guys! Meanwhile, my bus just sits there. You'll call to find out some parts that were available when you ordered are back-ordered. OK, that happens, but shouldn't you have notified me instead of making me wait a week then call you? This last time I called to cancel just a few backordered items that were holding up the rest of the order that they said was otherwise "boxed up and ready to go". Instead, they cancelled the whole order by mistake. Unorganized!

I recently purchased a Rialta (a VW EuroVan Body with a Winnebago camper on it....) I needed an extensive list of parts. I dealt with several people and every single person was extremely knoweldgable and helpful. 5 star experience. Thanks.

I always wanted to see this place in real life and when we were driving by, it was the golden opportunity. So I finally got to see the place where half of my bus parts come from. I met Dan, was super friendly and helpful.

Abysmal problems getting these guys on the phone. Loooong wait times and always an excuse that, "we are busy". Well, if you are THAT busy, you can afford to hire some more help. Once you actually GET to customer service the folks in Perkiomenville are knowledgeable and helpful. Had a quick question that took 1 minute to answer but had to endure a 25+ minute wait time to actually speak to someone - after two different attempts to connect with customer service. On complex issues like how to install one of their pop-top camper canvases I would expect nothing less than a disasterous experience. Ugh! Good company needs to adjust their business operations or expect to lose customers to a provider that actually answers the phone.

I ordered parts from thebusdepot.com to finish my old bus project and one of the parts that I ordered (Bamboo Under Dash Parcel Shelf Part #J19598 for $119.95) did not come with any instructions nor hardware. I took the bus to my upholstery guy, who has been in business for 30+ years and he called me and said he could not figure out how to install the shelf. When I got the bus home, I looked it over and realized it was missing the mounting parts. On Jan 11th, I emailed the Bus Depot and explained the problem to them. I then gave them a follow up call on Jan 14th to see if they had an answer for me. The gal I spoke to put me on hold and when returned on the line, had a bit of an attitude. She informed me that my email had been received and they were attempting to contact their supplier with my question. Another 2 1/2 weeks have gone by since that phone call, with no response from them so I called again this morning. I spoke to a guy named Caleb who checked into my concerns and when he came back on the line, informed me that there are no hardware kits or instructions that come with the shelf kit and that I would have to fab something to make it work. I guess I am glad that I have the capability to make this happen. I wish I had the time that it is going to take, to make this addition to my bus. Keep this ini mind, it took a whiiiiiiile to get this part delivered to me, because whomever is suppying them with this part, is making them as they are ordered. This part is defintiley NOT a plug/play part and you will NEED TO FAB brackets to make it work. Furthermore, this place provides about the worst customer service that I have received in a long time. My advice, keep on scrolling to the next parts supplier for your VW project.

They are either thieves or have a very unsecure website. Placed an order last month, only place I’ve used my credit card, and today a $1,800 charge for cabinets at a Lowe’s in Illinois! I live in Massachusetts! I did get a bit irate with them when they refused to ship on neither my fedex account or ups account. What’s the big deal? Last time I ordered with them, used a check. Took about a month to “clear” for them. Check showed cashed days after they received it. Fishy fishy business practices here. I wouldn’t have used them this second time, but was my only option for the part I needed. Big mistake... shop elsewhere, don’t fall for their false claims. A month for a check to clear that was already cashed? Yeah okay....

Wow, bought 2 calipers for my customers 73 westy. Someone had remove the d/s caliper and flattened the brake line hoping the rig would stop. My cost on the calipers was bout $55 each with a $70 core on each one so I called Ryan and asked him if we could buy another caliper and let the Depot keep it for the core, they would save $$$ not having to rebuild the core and I could save my customer $15 on price of the core and $31 shipping. I thought it was a win win situation for them and my customer. I was told that I could certainly buy another caliper for $55 but would still have to pay the core even tho they would keep the rebuilt caliper. I soon realized what their MAIN CONCERN WAS frikkin $$$$..I will send the one core we have back to them and my poor customer will pay a $70 core charge on top of everything else, AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PART FROM THEM AGAIN, EVER. And why in Gods name does a core be more than the cost of a rebuilt unit. Something very wrong with their mission statement.

I've always had a great experience and have never had any problems with the parts I've ordered. Recent purchase was a cover for my 71 westy. Shipped on time and arrived when promised. Fits great better than the empi cover I had which didn't fit correctly.

This is my favorite vendor in the USA for bus parts. I've always gotten my parts on time and IF anything is back-ordered (pretty common with parts for a 46 year old vehicle), they have notified me and told me when they expect to get them in and they don't charge me till its on its way to my house. The staff is knowledgeable and you can tell they are Volkswagen people... not just random employees they found looking for a customer service job. I've read complaints about the packaging but I think it's pretty cool that they are committed to recycling and not wasteful. Definitely probably hippies. We only get one earth you know.

I've never had a problem ordering parts from Bus Depot. Shipping is fast and I've never been charged for backordered items.

Quality varies as do prices. Shipping charges are ridiculously high ($12 on a $6 item that they can put in in envelope and mail). "Usually ships in 1-3 days"? Who does that anymore?? We may have old cars, but please get into the 21st century with shipping charges and speed.

Yesterday we went in person to the store. My husband has a VW van 1984 and attended their annual meeting. Despite the rain at GreenLane Park in Perkiomen Valley – Montgomery County, PA it was fun! And the prices in the store great! There were lots of people helping with the spare parts, t-shirts, and the best part... their area of big discounts!

With first order, was satisfactory; nothing outstanding but nothing negative either. Good price and good shipping time. Normal for this industry. Then submitted 2nd order, and the bottom fell out. After submitting it, and waiting for a spell, received a package with part of the order. So set it aside, and began waiting for rest. After several days of no package or advisory from company, emailed them for explanation. Got response ... FINALLLY ... advising that they did not have all of those backordered items ... others were 'on the way' ... and that I would need to search other vendors. With that emailed them addressing the prepaid amount, plus shipping, for the not-available orders, and requested a 'break' on another item I needed. NO RESPONSE here. This, along with the lack of advising customers rather than them having to track down the information, leads me to rate them low in customer service. They need to badly address their customer relations ... IMO. Chuck Nevada
