Good mechanics & honest people. Indiana is lucky to have them in town. Also just about everyone that works here is named Mike so it's easy to remember names. Thanks for keeping my old Volvo running.

Called tripple a and told them I needed a new battery. They assured me this service would bring a battery. They did not. They said the alternator was bad and left me stranded. I got a ride, bought a battery, replaced it and the car runs fine. Alternator works perfect. 14.6 charging volts. Bad service

I do not recommend using Import Auto to have your vehicle towed if your using AAA! I had them come to Blairsville to pick up a vehicle to be towed & it had been setting for a while & had a stuff in side it! The driver refused to tow it & told AAA that it was full of junk & had been setting for years & the brakes where locked up on it! To top it off I waited 3 hrs wondering where my vehicle was to find out after I called AAA that the driver refused to tow my vehicle & nobody called to let me know that! I went down two days later & seen that they never even hooked up to the vehicle because there was no drag marks in the gravel! A simple phone call explaining this would of went better instead of not calling & lying to AAA! I put a new battery in the vehicle because I found out that was the problem & drove it home without an issue! So no the brakes were not locked up!

Contacted AAA to get my car towed and have been waiting for over 3 hours. This would be understandable if I had broke down on some back road miles away, but it’s 5 blocks away!!! I could walk to Import Auto in 5 minutes! Pretty sad!!!

Amazing place. Mike is knowledgeable, he will do what your car needs, nothing more. Easy to work with. Trustable. Reasonable prices. Try it and you won’t regret it I promise.

They were very nice and convenient to drop off at lunch from work and oil change done to pick up after work. Very reasonable price.

Very professional and courteous. They receptionist was great to deal with. They got the vehicle as quick as they could, correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a very timely manner and at a very affordable rate. When no one else in town would even look at it. This would be the only shop in this area I will use again.

A locally owned auto repair shop focusing on imported cars. Good service and fairly priced. I have used them for over 20 years on three imports. Far better than dealerships.

went for an inspection, didn’t pass me, tried to have me make a bunch of appointments to fix all of these “problems”, and charged me. I went to another place to have them look it over and it passed without any problem. Money hungry and will take advantage of young women.

Great work, reasonable prices, friendly team. Only problem was that my hood is now gapped as if someone shut it with something in it. Not a huge deal but it is annoying

My daughter is a student at IUP, she brought her car in with a compliant of smelling gas or exhaust in the car while driving. To diagnose it they did not take it for a drive to see if there was a smell, but put a machine on it which indicated a "random misfire". $350 to change (4) spark plugs was their estimate. I called them to ask a few questions about their diagnosis and told them we would be taking it elsewhere. At which point I was told there would be a $70 diagnostic fee. When I pushed back on being over charged for simply plugging in a machine -that costs less than $70- and reading it, I was told "I don't know anyone that works for free!". If that is what they call "work", and if that is what they call value, I'd avoid this place. (They did elect to reduce their fee to $40 when she arrived to pick up)

I graduated from Indiana in 2014 I have not been back to the campus since I graduated. This past weekend I visited for Homecoming with two high school friends. Our first stop was at Constellation Coffee at University Square. We parked, went inside for a while enjoying our coffee, then decided to take a walk because it was such a beautiful fall day in Indiana. When we returned about an hour and half later one of my friends cars was towed. I had two friends that drove. One was still sitting in the University Square parking lot and the other had vanished. After speaking with the security officer he said one of the business probably had the car towed . We were all customers of Constellation Coffee (all three of us purchased beverages). After having to call the Indiana Police to find which tow company the car was taken to, we were told via telephone that they would meet us at the lot and they only accept cash. They were requesting $160 cash for the car. It was a hostage situation!!!! Completely and totally unjust as we were customers of the coffee shop. Not only that but the parking lot was empty. They were not limited on space. I sat on the student panel for IUP and the community when I was at the University and was involved in numerous community service activities for the county of Indiana. I understand the contempt that some in the community have for IUP students. I feel we were targeted. I also feel someone is receiving a kickback when a tow company only accepts cash. We did our due diligence and asked each and every business that was open that day in University Square and they all said they did not call. I believe the security office did because he profiled us as IUP students. Do no patronize this business!!!!!

Great customer service and mechanical work. I am glad they were recommended to me. Hard to find places locally that work on all aspects of imports, so I will definitelt be a regular customer now.

This place has a deal with The Apartment Store (Carriage House and Regency) to tow cars. I mind you, there is zero visitor parking- and the only way to obtain a parking pass is by paying $4 per day to the office by 5 p.m., if you decide to visit a friend for an hour anytime after 5 p.m., and you didn't get a pass, you will be paying Import Auto Works $166 for them to return your vehicle which they stole. It's about a 4 mile drive from the Apartment Store to their Impound Lot off of Old Rt 119, so say 8 miles round trip,... and they're charging $166 to get your car. I wouldn't trust anyone that works here if this is how they treat the students who contribute to this towns economy.

Best service for imports at reasonable prices - especially if you talk to Mike (owner) first. They also work on domestic, but if you have an import out of warranty, don't bother taking it to a dealership - go to Import Auto -and get it done right there first time for less money!

I have been taking both of my cars to them for over a year now and I have been very pleased with the results. The mechanics are knowledgeable and can nearly finish your sentence when you are explaining the issue. They pay attention to details of the what you ask for in a car repair. My cars have never been dirty after getting them serviced.

Best place to get your car fixed right the first time without getting jerked around. Mike the owner is very knowledgeable and fair with his service rate -especially compared to a new car dealer.

Gracious and Helpful - especially to a local college student away from home. My daughter's car broke down one evening earlier this week and she had it towed to this garage on the advice of a local friend. She had never used their service before. The next day, they diagnosed the issue, explained what happened, and gave us time to make a decision by allowing the car to stay on their lot for a few days at no additional cost. Total bill: $40. We are towing it home (4 hours away) tomorrow, and they are making sure the car is in a position for us to easily load it onto the tow dolly...again, giving up their time without charging us a cent more. I would recommend this business to anyone. When you are kind, and show this kind of business integrity, knowing that no additional monetary reward is coming your way, I am happy to recommend them to anyone. Honesty and integrity like this speaks volumes for a business. If we lived close by, I would use them for all car maintenance, hands down. I add this extra comment only because a previous review suggested that they have an issue serving people of a different race. My daughter is white, but she is a Muslim woman who wears conservative dress and head-covering. They treated her kindly and well. I sincerely doubt that race plays any issue in how they treat people. They should expect compensation for their time, however...and no one should be upset when they are charged a reasonable fee for a professional to do work for them.

My car battery died right on the side of the Import Auto. Knowing this is a place that repairs cars. I kindly asked if I could get a jump. They directed me to the front desk and said $25 & as a college student I walked back out. Especially because I already had cables. Maybe next time I'll have my mom call. Because they did it for FREE for the girl who mom called. Or maybe just another white owned company in Indiana discriminating against African Americans. #sadTRUTH

I brought my car to them Wednesday, got it back Thursday morning for a simple brake fix. Don't know how other people feel about them, but I simply knew it was my brakes that was an issue - told them what to look out for (in terms of noise) and they replaced the rotors and pads for a reasonable price. The shop doesn't look like much, but they seem to a pretty good crew. Issue is fixed, price was reasonable - can't complain.

I have no idea where the negative reviews come from. This is probably the most competent and professional shop I have ever taken a car to for service. They fixed my 1994 Jaguar XJS V12 and that's not an easy fix. I was surprised at the price and in a good way. I am 63 and used to build my own cars, that was in the 70's and out of necessity, so my experience level is very high. I am also a business owner and have operated a fleet for 25 years. Maybe I don't know what I am doing????? Take your car here. Ask for Mike, or the other Mike.

Worst place possible to take your vehicle took my voltswagon for a simple crank sensor an minor timing. AND the mechanic that worked on my vehicle blew my motor up an tried to fix it but made it worse then tried to charge me for parts that they broke . And now my car makes all kinds of sounds and is messed up real bad I don't wanna even take the car back so they can fix it. The mechanics are no good beware do not go there

My daughter is an IUP student who lives fairly close to Import Auto Works. The first time her car battery died, they walked over and started it using a portable charger. They did not charge her. The second time it died, they walked over, started it using a portable charger, drove it to the garage, and replaced the battery. Their price was very reasonable for a good battery (I checked around) and their service was top notch! They let me pay them with my credit card over the phone. I can say for sure that this place does not take advantage of anyone, not even female college students :)

I am a college student who was also conned by these people. I had an alternator installed by them, the total cost running around $300. A year later, the alternator dies again, luckily I was in my home town so I could take my car to a family friend and a trusted mechanic. He said the alternator that Import Auto installed was a total piece of garbage, and was worth about $50 brand new. So they totally ripped me off just like every other college kid who goes here. Every single mechanic I've gone to in Indiana has either tried or has taken advantage of me. This is a really screwed up business and I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Shame on your Import and the rest of your competitors in Indiana.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF THEN DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. MY SON IS A COLLEGE STUDENT WHO TOOK HIS CAR TO THIS REPAIR SHOP AND ASK FOR A QUOTE BEFORE THE REPAIR WAS DONE. NEVER RECEIVED A QUOTE AND THEN WAS HIT WITH A BILL OVER $400.00. NEVERMIND THIS IS A COLLEGE STUDENT. AFTER PAYING THE BILL BECAUSE WE HAD TO. THE CAR WAS STILL NOT REPAIR CORRECTLY SO HE TAKES THE CAR BACK AND THEY AGAIN REPAIR THE CAR WITHOUT PERMISSION AND TRIED TO CHARGE ADDITIONAL $260.00 FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT REPAIR CORRECTLY THE FIRST. AND TO TOP IT OFF MY SONS RADIO WAS STOLEN FROM HIS VEHICLE WHILE AT THIS SHOP AND NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. BE WISE DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY......
