Original Post from 2015: I'm completely biased about Haverford College. Very glad the college welcomes the community to use its beautiful campus.
Walked around on the weekend with my daughter to see if it was a good environment for her. We weren’t allowed to so we saw other universities. Nice campus, just didn’t feel the right vibe here.

Haverford is the LITERAL definition of: "Little Ivy." Along with Swarthmore & Bryn Mawr, they reminded me EXACTLY of Amherst, Vassar & Mt. Holyoke (maybe a tad more conservative) & the campuses are beautiful and bucolic. WAY too preppy for me though.
Picturesque campus where some of my favorite folks have attended school! Speaking as an outsider, this place is immaculately kept up and the “maps reviewer” in me is very satisfied. It’s like going to a really nice park. And it’s so quiet here. Really lovely when not too hot or cold.
I play for the Germantown Cricket Club and we play the Haverford Cricket Club a few times a year. It's a very historic rivalry. It's a beautiful setting (the outfield is slow). Today's score: GCC 211. Haverford 119. We'll play them a few more times this fall.
Five stars to this college campus for it's walkability and serene beauty. This review is not of the college itself, although it is widely known to be a top liberal arts college, but of the grounds, which are picture perfect. Haverford boasts a working farm (Haverfarm), lovely wooded nature trail, areas for running, and plenty of open-air paved paths for walking and enjoying the beautiful campus and trees- so many impressive trees! Fact: Haverford has a 1:6 student to tree ratio.
This campus is just gorgeous. Thanks very much to the college for it's willingness to allow members of the community to enjoy it. A perfect place for a walk, or to just sit on a bench and drink in the peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings.
Haverford is a nice college. It's very small and close knit. There's a total of 1200 undergraduate students. There are no graduate students. Being said, this gives the undergraduate students to have research opportunities with professors that they wouldn't have if there were graduate students at the school.
The school is located in the suburbs of Philadelphia and the faculty live nearby which is great for the students.
Housing isn't guaranteed all four years and not all dorms have air conditioning.
If you're looking for a college with a small close knit community, then this is a place that should visit to determine if it's a good fit for you.
