I had an absolutely horrible experience with this towing company. I’m new to the area and didn’t know the local parking rules, and they towed my car. Fine — that part is on me. But everything that happened after that was completely unprofessional and disrespectful.
When I called to get my vehicle back, they told me it would cost hundreds of dollars. I panicked immediately because I don’t just have that kind of money sitting around. I tried to explain my financial situation and asked if there was any way they could work with me. I told them I could come up with $300. The response? “I don’t think the owner would let it go for 300.” No empathy. No attempt to help. Just cold and dismissive.
When I arrived, I was informed I had to pay in cash. No one mentioned that on the phone. Who doesn’t tell someone that ahead of time? Meanwhile, they’re charging $65 per day if you don’t pick it up immediately, so you’re basically forced to scramble and figure it out.
After making major financial moves to come up with the overly priced payment, I returned. While I was standing there, the employee called his boss and said, “He’s here again.” The boss responded loudly enough over the phone and I could clearly hear him through the phone — it was NOT on speaker Then he said something about me, and they both started laughing. They were openly making fun of me while I was standing right there.
Mind you as I said he wasn’t on speaker, and could hear full sentences of the words he was saying, he was so loud on the phone I could hear the beginning code to their safe, which is 1042.
After hearing them laugh I said, “I don’t know what’s funny.” The employee tried to brush it off and said, “Oh, it was something he said,” but it was obvious they were laughing at me. The fact that I could clearly hear sentences being said and the safe combination over the phone shows just how loud and careless they were being.
To top it off, I ended up overpaying by $5 because they “didn’t have change.” Instead of resolving it themselves, they told me to walk to a store down the road to break the bill — while they still had my car. I had no transportation at that point. I was already drained financially and emotionally. At that point, I was over how they run as a business and told them just keep it since I want to just go home!
This company showed zero professionalism, zero compassion, and zero respect. I understand towing companies have policies, but there is no excuse for mocking customers, overpricing tows, and handling situations this poorly.
I strongly recommend staying far away from this business.
My experience with Bills was very positive. I needed a tow to a garage in Exeter. A friend recommended Bills so I went there in person. Bill said it wasn't a problem and charged me a fair price. The Tow truck operator, Rob, showed up promptly, was cordial and professional and had no issues loading the car. The car was delivered and unloaded with no issues. In short, it was good service at a fair price.
If i could put a negative review i would. they completely overcharged me a tow. got told by a lady on the phone it would be $600 to get my car back and when i arrived i was then told it was $645 when the car wasn’t even there for more then 24 hours. then when i received the receipt there were charges on there that he didn’t even tell me about. i got told it was $45 for each day my car was there but then the receipt said $65. they get by on struggling college students and are extremely money hungry. i’ve never ever seen a tow company charge that much especially when the car was only there for 1 day. a bunch of made up fees to get more money. he didn’t have a set breakdown on the pricing and when my uncle called to get an explanation they were unprofessional and basically said it is what it is. my car was towed 12 pm, i called the same day and i came the next day at 11 am. My Veloster N had a dead battery needing replacement. We called AAA, Noah texted an ETA. and he arrived exactly on time. Noah diagnosed the problem, checked the alternator, and determined that the battery needed replacement. He quoted a very fair price and installed the battery quickly with no problems, and it had an extra terminal with a fuse on the positive side, so it was not a simple battery to change. Noah was prompt, polite and did an excellent job! This is the best experience I've ever had with a AAA roadside assistance person. I can't say enough about the fantastic service I received. Will keep them in mind in the future for towing and service.
This business is a time waster. I called like 3 hours ahead to schedule a tow. I got price info ($125 cash / $137.50 card), I agreed, and provided pickup/drop-off addresses. The ole guy on the phone said he’d call me after 6 to get it done. 7:00 rolls around, crickets. I call at 7:30. No answer and it goes to voicemail. I leave a message. They never called back, not even the next day. Choose a more reliable operation.
Poor customer service. Fails to call customer back about a tow that was supposed to happen August 9th, and still had not called on today ( August 11th) until I called and they had a bullcrap "im sorry". What is worse is that they agreed to tow my car initially, then backed out on their end and failed to notify.
Last night, in the pouring rain, during rush hour, my 1997 Chevy Silverado decided she needed a rest. After coasting to the shoulder and not being able to coax her onward, I contacted triple A who sent a tow driver from Bills. He was polite, kind, and very capable. How he maneuvered my incapacitated truck into the only open spot on the very tight parking lot of my garage of choice was quite impressive. His words of encouragement were appreciated as well. Here's hoping the repair goes just as smoothly. Thank you again!
Don’t even know where to start. I needed a tow and the the I spoke with at AAA is a total pos.However I got a call from someone with Bills towing she was nothing but amazing and so was her her husband who showed up for the tow. I would recommend them to anyone. There professionalism was nothing but spectacular. If local and need a tow I’d would call them as they are good and honest people
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the gentleman who towed my car on 9/7 from Penn Ave!! He was fast, efficient and even took the time to explain everything to my husband. We appreciate you!! Would highly recommend your services to any one in need. Thank you again!!
I found my F-150 with a flat tire at work last night. I called AAA they sent out a company. The guy told me he couldn't use my spare tire and told me to contact a towing service. Bill's came out and I told him my situation. He asked, if I would mind if he took a look at the spare? He and Rob got my spare off the truck and made it so I could drive home. Saved me over $100 and refused to let me tip them. I'm so grateful to Bill and Rob. I recommend these guys 100%.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
This company practices strong arm bullying tactics to get you to pay exorbitant prices for a tow. They lie and they play games with their prices. I'm reporting them to to the BBB as well as pissed consumer. Com and will most likely seek arbitration since they are trying to extort me for an additional $600. After the total bill was paid and threatened to keep my vehicle if I don't pay an additional $600 today after a price was given and paid.
The manager Dom is rude and demanding and refused to allow me to talk to his boss.
I had inquired about a tow through Triple A on Sunday March 10th 2024 for my Mercedes Benz. I was greeted by one of this companies workers who seemed like they instantly had a chip on their shoulder. Getting out of the truck cursing loudly and immediately telling me he’s not taking my car. I tried to plead with him I was in a tough situation with my car being impounded after somebody stole it and crashed it. They stole my plates off the car and that was grounds for this tow company to terminate the tow and leave me high and dry for hours. I would never wish somebody to encounter this tow company for the simple fact they aren’t nice people. I called just 15 minutes ago and spoke with another representative of the company and got yelled and screamed at for all 5 minutes I was on the phone. I’ll be going to the bbb with this information. Let’s see what they have to say. ??
While I did business with this company via Triple AAA, I wanted to take time to commend the excellent service I received.
Tow truck showed up within 15 minutes and had my car loaded and ready to go in literally a couple of minutes. Driver was very friendly and seemed to have a lot of experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with this company in the future. Thanks for the stress free experience!
In an empty parking lot, some white haired old man driving a Bill’s truck parked next in the spot next to me, but on the line. As I walked back to my car, we made eye contact so he knew I was getting into my vehicle. That is when he decided to pull away. He got so close to me that I had to jam myself against my vehicle and stand on my tip toes to avoid getting crushed. This old man should not be driving especially a truck of this size. Avoid this unsafe organization.
Billy was great! He got to my car on Perkiomen Ave in the time they said he’d be there. He got right to work in pouring rain…and I was grateful to him. I’d worked all day and on way home there was a tree in the road, I swerved to avoid it but not enough, my tire caught the end of it and not long afterwards my tire went flat…ugh!!!
9:00 at night….I prayed for someone who would persevere in the rain and get the job done….Billy came to my rescue, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, you were the answer to my prayers… sincerely DEB
Very helpful and kind, and even though they weren't able to fix my tire due to the damage, they towed my car to where I needed it to go to get fixed. The drivers also waited for the Uber driver to show up since we were not from the area.
Driver was prompt, courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable about his equipment, regulations and legalities for emergency roadside assistance, and careful with my vehicle. He was also polite and made sure of my safety while prepping my car for transporting. His tow truck was very well kept, his lights were bright and very recognizable and a relief as I was stranded alone at 1am. I received texts from them with an extremely accurate and quick(~30minutes) eta. The truck had the triple a logo as well as Bill's Emergency Roadside logo on it very clearly marked, so I was sure he was not just an opportunist or someone with I'll intent. And he stayed with me until I had a safe way home. AAA dispatched him, however, I will be keeping his information regardless of my membership status, and I'm very much interested in having his shop work on my vehicle, a different one as well. You just don't seem to get such great quality service and courtesy these days, I'm very happy about that! Definitely recommend this company.
I would highly recommend not using Bill's. I am a AAA member, and called to get a tow. An hour later they showed up, and the one driver made it clear form the word go, he was not in the mood to tow my vehicle. First he tried to say it would be a transport tow (not covered by AAA,) I said alright, it needs to go about 8 miles, how much will it cost? Then driver started making up excuses, and each one I would refute or point out was wrong (such as, no, my car is not lowered, its the factory height, or I removed the bumper to make it easier for you to tow.) At this point, he simply made up another excuse, and just ended with, "I am not towing this vehicle." This was all on a car that has been towed multiple times without issue by other AAA providers. His demeanor was terrible, and this was a huge waste of time. If you don't want to tow, please stop claiming to be in the towing business.
Bills has gotten me out of more than one bad situation! All the workers are super friendly! Their costs are cheaper than most other garages and towing and Bill always has your best interest in mind! They have a shop and I got my headlights cleaned there and now I can finally see at night! I’ll forever be using Bill’s!
Great service. Leeroy arrived within 25 minutes of my call to AAA. He was friendly, courteous and professional. Hooked my car up to be towed in a matter of minutes and off he went. Thank you so much Leeroy and Bills Emergency Roadside assistance you guys are excellent. I highly recommend you to anyone who needs assistance in the area.
AAA sent this company out when my vehicle wouldn't start. Dillan just left my house after replacing my battery. He arrived quickly and was here & gone within 20 minutes. Polite, professional and just a lovely person to deal with.

Locked my keys in the trunk with food I had just picked up at Victors. Called AAA and a Gentleman from Bills showed up in about 10 minutes had my car unlocked in less than 3 seconds! No joke!!! Polite, courteous and wonderful! Got to my destination a few minutes late but the food was still warm! He saved the evening for sure!! Can’t say enough wonderful things! Best service ever!
I didn't have to wait long for the nice young man who came to tow my car. His truck was clean and smelled great and he was very friendly. I was frustrated and he put me in a better mood. When you're in a lousy situation, this is the kind of service you hope for!
AAA sent them to tow me on a Saturday morning in the pouring rain. The man arrived SUPER fast. Was very professional, had new equipment, i had to ride in the cab to my destination, his truck was very clean and smelled very good! Whatever air freshener he had in there was awesome lol. He was very friendly even having to be out in the cold rain. He held pleasant conversation, which it made my very unpleasant breakdown a bit easier to deal with at its bad timing lol.
Worst service declined. Called AAA for tow to dealer and requested rollback given the type of vehicle and distance towed. Driver showed with a wrecker. Driver told me he couldn’t tow with the bar before he left, and told me to call AAA. They lied to AAA and both acted like it was a big joke. Ok, got me. I’ll file a complaint. Company doesn’t care I’m sure. I don’t trust this company, owner or driver, and will avoid them in the future. Think twice before using them.
I wouldn’t even give them 1 star if I didn’t have to give them something to post this warning. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR TOWING SERVICE!! They towed my vehicle and caused over $300 worth of damage and are giving me a hard time about paying my mechanic to fix it. They claim their driver would not have done what was done to it. Well a locksmith was looking at my vehicle and seen there was no damage to it before he called to have it towed. I will be telling EVERYONE I can NOT to use them.
Never met a nicer group of guys. Bill himself is there running the business and it really shows. I bought AAA just to know that Bill’s will be taking care of me. Oil changes. Inspections. Brakes. Anything. These guys can do it. Best prices you gonna find this side of the Mississippi too!
Owner arrived to tow around 5PM on a weekday, and he diagnosed the problem on the spot - as a broken front right axle. Then he gave me 'his' ballpark estimate to repair. Since he had my AAA info, and I had his, I was able to leave before he towed it. The next day, they called to authorize the repair, and the official quote was almost the same as the ballpark; $190. They had it fixed by noon that day. Their labor/hour rate is quite competitive, about $20-30. less than some of the bigger name competition. Was a good first experience with a happy ending. Would use again.
