Great service and staff. Reasonable pricing. My go-to for auto repairs in Ashland. Also close to downtown - fun things to do while a vehicle is being worked on.

I've been to a few places in town, and I cannot recommend these folks enough. They have always been extremely competent and thorough in their work, not to mention offering reasonable prices. Unlike some other places in town, they truly seem to have the wellbeing of their customers as a top priority, giving honest diagnoses and estimates and charging just as much as they need to without upselling. From small maintenance to larger fixes, can't recommend Ashland Auto Repair enough!

I've been taking my cars to Ashland Auto Repair for five years now, and I feel so grateful to have found such a reliable shop! Jesse and Alira give you honest appraisals of what's needed - what's urgent and what's not. The work is top notch and the cost is reasonable. Great mechanics!

Alira has either no personality or she just decided I wasn’t worth being nice to. She was nice over the phone initially though telling me they work on lots of Ford Escapes and fuel pump/sensor issues are very common in their shop, yet as soon as I showed up with my car, she kept her conversation to minimum. They charged $50 for a diagnostic, told me it’ll run about $1,000 to replace a fuel pump without telling me how much they charge for the labor per hour. She also told me my car battery needed to be replaced because car stopped running, which was hard to believe as to the battery check was fine recently. Anyway, a week later I brought it in at my appointment and Jesse called profusely apologizing that the person who gave the diagnostic was wrong and this wasn’t a type of repair they could handle at their shop. When I went to pick up my car, Alira was in the front office. I asked her if the diagnostic was wrong by their guy, what diagnosis did I pay for. She just coldly responded “We just didn’t have enough information.” Oh, they also did something to the car computer btw because now I can’t even set a time🤷♀️ PS Simply stating how I was treated by your employee isn’t a personal attack, FYI :)

(Null) While I don’t wish to disparage any small business, I know right from wrong—and in my case something went very wrong. I had brought in a vehicle (an ‘82 Subaru GL) after it was used without my permission and totaled without apology. Not only did the shop allow the people who damaged my car dictate what would be done with it—I was offering to replace the engine after a pressure test but was told it didn’t make sense for “everybody” (although “everybody” did not own the car, pay for the car, its insurance, towing and repairs, or wiper fluid of course). They then allowed an unidentified “white tow truck” to tow it off their lot without even calling me after the fact. I found out later after having to get in touch with police. The shop claimed to have no security footage and no further knowledge—my car simply was stolen from their lot and that seemed to be fine for everyone except me. Unfortunately this happened alongside what I can only call very worrisome gang violence and seeming police complicity that ended up forcing me away from my home and my business entirely. There was some insinuation from the shop that I needed to take a hint and cower away but that’s just the problem—I never hurt anyone and I am proud of who I am and what I do in life. I don’t operate in secret, and I know that those who do are dangerous. I thought this was a highly unfortunate and unusual situation, and I don’t suspect that others will have the same issues. These folks probably do fine work. Just be forewarned if you feel something isn’t right—listen to your instincts and drive safe.

I've had a few great experiences with Alira and Jesse. A couple of big jobs and one that was extra complicated which really showed they care about their customers and know their stuff. And I referred my neighbor who was happy too. :^)

Straightforward in explaining what my car needs, flexible with service times, did not upsell and gave me the time to answer all my questions. A good experience for me being new to the area. They know what they're doing.

Top notch, dependable, professional mechanic! Jessie put a new clutch in my old Toyota Tacoma in less than 24 hours and did an excellent job. He even welded up a broken exhaust manifold bracket at no extra charge. He's a great guy and specializes in Toyotas. I highly recommend this shop! A+++ Thanks!

The staff was professional, clear, communicative, flexible around my schedule change, and the work was done quickly. They did not sell up with added services, but let me know what they saw, and the price was more than fair. They found a problem that had been causing me a lot of expense and trouble for over 3 years. They fixed it in about a half hour, and charged me only 40$ for the extra service! I highly recommend them!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! I took my car in to get a power steering leak fixed. They found one of the leaks and pressured me into letting them power wash the side of my motor to look for more leaks. I picked my car up, and the next day the battery was completely dead and the starter wouldn’t work even with a fresh battery, (my car had zero electrical issues before taking it to this shop). I called them to notify them I would be bringing my car in so they could fix the problem they had caused. They claimed that there was no way the power washing had done any electrical damage and quoted me over $700 to replace my starter. I promptly took my car home and did the work myself, which took me 45 MINUTES and cost $80 in parts. COMPLETE SCAMMERS.

I had some trouble with my Toyota Tacoma and couldn’t figure it out. There were a few times I had to call them and get it diagnosed but they always charged me way less and took full responsibility and care of my truck. Jesse is amazing; very detail oriented and knowledgeable!

Waited a year to leave this review... said I needed a new engine. Conveniently had one for sale around $4k. Went and got a second opinion, spent $40 on new spark plugs and my car has been running great ever since. Either they are really bad at what they do or take advantage of people in a vulnerable situations. Avoid at all costs or at least get a second opinion.

Do not take your car here! I came in with my car's AC not working - it was blowing air but just not cold. They checked my AC for freon leaks, and told me there were absolutely no issues there and just filled it up with freon and charged me $315 (pricey). The AC worked again for only a couple of weeks until it didn't. I called Ashland Auto Repair again to let them know about the issue and they said to me that "the machine is extremely accurate, and would not be misleading about there being any leaks or not" and instructed me to bring my car in again as it might be another issue. After doing so, when I finally heard from them later on in the day they told me that suddenly my condenser was cracked and tried to quote me for over $700 to fix it. How did it go from my condenser being totally fine with no leaks to there being a big crack in it in just a matter of a couple of weeks? I only drive to work and back so I'm not insanely wearing down my car or AC...I told them not to even bother fixing it because I'm not paying that much money to a place who didn't even fix my car effectively the first time. Trying to charge me $700+ to fix something that seems like they broke and botched from the first time I brought it in is extremely scammy. If you feel like getting ripped off and having your car get more destroyed, then by all means, visit Ashland Auto Repair! But seriously, don't waste your time or money on this place.

Ashland Automotive saved our vacation! Jerkey Stick, our 2003 Honda, was on her last voyage from Portland to Sacramento when over the pass, the cooling system quit! Michael and team at AA were there to help our poor stranded souls and quickly diagnose and help decide what to do. Honest, courteous, clear communication and going out of their way to accommodate our schedules. Can I give 10 stars? No - well then I give them 11! If you need mechanical help anywhere near Ashland OR - this is where you should go. Thanks Ashland Automotive - we owe you many beers!

Scammed me out of an extra $200 for an unnecessary diagnostic test after I checked the battery, fuses, and confirmed the issue with the shop + was told the original quote for a fuel pump replacement… When I walked in the original quote was over $200 (“we told you about the diagnostic test”) Nope, never told me + I had to call the shop 4x for updates on the car. Icing on the cake $1100 for a simple fuel pump replacement on an old Ford. Take your car somewhere else, or get your wallet ran up by these scammers.

Excellent service! Ashland Auto Repair did an outstanding job repairing my daughter’s car after the electrical system had been damaged as the result of water intrusion. Jesse and team were able to get the job done for literally thousands less than the dealer’s quoted repair cost…and even came in UNDER estimate on the final cost of repair — a rarity these days. Really appreciated Jesse’s professional follow-through and quality work.

Took my Lexus in for unexpected alternator replacement - I was able to go in with no appointment. Jessie is a great floor manager with fantastic customer service. The team worked very well together. The work was done in less than 3 hours. I was very satisfied with the overall experience. Highly recommend.

This is the one you want, you can stop looking. Brakes done when they said it would for a price that seemed reasonable. I gave them a car that barely stopped and made a lot of noise doing it and I got back one that stops on a dime..rather than a deer which is what I didn't want. Didn't flinch when I said the other car is German so looking forward to taking that one to them too rather than getting robbed at the dealership. Highly recommend.

Jesse took time out of his day to check my car when the service engine light came on in the middle of a 2 day road trip. He fit us in immediately and figured out the problem with no cost to us. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and upfront with us. Would recommend. Thank you Jesse!

I brought my vehicle in for some simple work, fixing a running light and an air filter (air.filter was fixed hence the 2 stars and not 1). The running light wasn't ever fixed, I called and explained and I was told to bring the car back in so they could take a look, no problem. The car was brought back in, but Jesse (who runs the front desk) claimed there was no appointment and he didn't remember anything about the vehicle (mind you this is ALL in an 8 day span with an initial phone call, meeting in person and an additional phone call). When speaking with Jesse on the phone as a follow-up (to get a refund), he proceeded to call me names. I did raise my voice briefly (around - 3 seconds max at the end of a sentence), but it seemed the only way to get a word in as he wouldn't let me speak otherwise (he was constantly interrupting me). After that, I stated that I don't trust him with my vehicle and I'd prefer a refund (mind you it's a small amount of money, but I'd like a refund for a service that wasn't delivered). He said he would have to see the vehicle again, understandable. But I told him I specifically didn't trust him with my vehicle so I wasn't sure how that was going to work. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with, then he hung up on me. The guy who works the front desk (manager, Jesse) is horrible to work with. He has a condescending tone and he isn't willing to listen. He forgets everything and everyone (at least from my experience). This isn't a mechanic you can trust. I'd highly recommend bringing your vehicle elsewhere - at least until management changes (bummer is: I used to being my vehicle here all the time and they were GREAT, my favorite shop I had ever been to).

These guys consistently do a great job, they are fast, and they are very friendly and nice! I always take my car to them and trust that they will take care of whatever problem I have. In my opinion, the best shop in town!

My headlight bulb was out & I bought a replacement & tried to replace it myself. Not! Friday afternoon stopped @ Ashland Auto Repair and Norm fixed it in no time and no charge! What a very nice guy! Thank you Norm! Will definitely return & recommend to friends!

My battery died at a coffee shop just down the road from their facility. One of the guys changed the battery in my key fob at no charge to troubleshoot when that didn't work he walked down the street with me, charged my battery and had me come down to make sure it would start again. I ended up buying a new battery from them but he was so helpful and generous I will go back every time!

We have been taking our Toyota’s here for more than 2 years now. They do an excellent job, fair priced, honest. The current mechanics are excellent! I would recommend to any of my friends and family to take their vehicle here.

Excellent service. Fixed my brakes and replaced rotors for less than half the price of estimate from the chain tire store down the road. Matt was communicative of delays to fix and took the initiative to get rid of a very annoying sound from a hole in the exhaust, with no additional charge to me. When my car started making more brake problem type noises a few weeks after the job, I thought "oh boy" ...but when i brought it back, they simply diagnosed and removed a loose heat guard over the muffler, also without a charge to me! Highly recommend Ashland Auto Repair, they feel like a real friend, in our small town!

Matt and his incredible team have been servicing our vehicles for many years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are honest and their prices are very reasonable. They have never tried to sell us something we don't need, which has happened to us with Les Schwab. Ashland Auto Repair is fantastic!

This place has saved my car twice in 2 years. Most recently was yesterday when Matt, Ron, Sky & John all worked together to fix my 4Runner’s jammed ignition. Matt is also amazing for talking to me in depth about Pokémon while I waited. Def recommend and appreciate Āšhłâńd Auto Repair.

After keeping my car for over 20 hours for an oil change and ac recharge, mechanics never called the day of service or the next. Had to show up in person to retrieve my vehicle, at that point the mechanic felt it wasn’t his fault or problem to contact customers and proceeded to try and fight me at the shop, on top of all this there was an extra $20 for absolutely nothing on the bill. These people don’t know how to work on cars or run a business. If I could review lower than one star I would.

Matt and the crew at Ashland auto repair are amazing! Very professional, helpful, and honest. They want to help you get back on the road, period. Plus, they have a super helpful free shuttle if you need to drop your car off. 10/10 would recommend!

After getting oil changes, brakes, and minor repairs on my vehicle here for years, I went away for over a year. When I came back I had an oil leak and asked when I was getting my oil changed. I felt the guy was right about the diagnosis which no one else had been able to make. After forking over over $500 my vehicle still leaked oil. This was in January. Since I also needed a new oil pan from damage a different mechanic caused, I had that repaired... still leaking... I paid $100 to have the undercarriage spray cleaned, dye put into my oil to pin point the repair that had just been made. They kept my vehicle for 3 days and when I went to pick it up, it wasn't there. Manager didn't know where it was. They had taken it to Valley View which I HATE! When I went to pick up my van it would not run. They had done damage to the vehicle. I had to leave it another day (NO CHOICE!) so they could repair the radiator hose they broke from rubbing on a belt. When I finally go it it sounds like crap making a whining noice from the belt. When I called them and asked them to repair it, they refused. Probably just as well. I will never let them touch a vehicle of mine again. They talk a nice talk but they are very incompetent and I would even venture to say dishonest but not in a crooked way, in an incompetent way.
