The new no scale policy and cost of flat rate earned the 1 star rating. The price has gone through the roof for loads that otherwise would have been reasonably priced by weight. Unfortunately, I'd recommend to look elsewhere for debris to be unloaded.

Lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Big John, actually don't know his name just rolls off the tongue, was also very helpful loading up high-quality cedar chips. Thanks McFarlane's - will be back in the spring for MULCH :)

Had the same experience as Patrick below. The guy backing people in to the dump should be washing the bathrooms, Not working with customers. Horrible experience. You have multiple customers complaining about the same thing. Maybe it is a problem and you should check your staff!

Wide variety of landscaping bark, mulch, soil, also yard debris dumping for a very reasonable fee.

I'm retired, just getting by on my Social Security. I've been using & very grateful for McFarlane's Bark (MB) for year round 'disposal of my yard debris' for the past 20+ yrs. I appreciate and take advantage of their senior discount - especially in these increasingly Very difficult financial times. For as long as I can remember the prices and subsequent price hikes at MB Were more than reasonable - but now those days appear to be a thing of the past. MB no longer uses a scale but instead measures 'trailer size' to determine disposal cost(s) = the price Doubled (from $16 to $30) for a smaller than usual load! I understand raising the prices of the products they sell (mulch / bark / et al) but raising the prices of the 'main source' of their products (our yard debris) is Unconscionable! I'm not the only senior citizen who feels this way. For most of us: MB is the only way to affordably clean-up our properties, so now we have no recourse but to pay up and up and up and... Thanx?

I recently posted a negative review of the wait time at the yard and have been back twice since then and had no wait at all! The women running the place are great and have been extremely helpful in moving the line along. Much appreciated!! Its unfortunate that the local county/city code cops are making life difficult and as a result limiting the unloading spaces. I hope that changes soon.

Last year the price for yard waste drop off was reasonable. I paid $15 for an 8 ft pickup bed with senior discount. I went today with a new smaller 6 ft bed pickup and they now charge by volume. Today I paid $24 for a smaller load including the senior discount. I am going to look for some other green waste dropoff place unless they get their prices reduced closer to last year's. Not to happy about this place now.

So sad to see this place go downhill. I've been coming here multiple times a week for the last few years. Been excited to come here every time. Happy friendly people, fast and cheap. Bit out of the way for me but it's worth it. Now, now so much. For my little 4x8 trailer of yard debris, what used to cost $13 3 years ago for a overflowing amount of debris, now cost me $24 for below the rim. I was always the minimum amount. It went from $13 to $16 to $18. Now I guess $24 but more if it's overflowing. On top of cost, it takes unbearably long. First you wait in line to pay. And you now have to get out of your rig to go into their little store to pre-pay. Then wait some more to dump your load. While dumping your load there's giant loaders shooting around. It's hectic! When you finally swerve away it's been about an hour. I just went at 1030am on a Tuesday thinking it'd be in and out. Plus there's road construction happening at the entrance which makes you wait on the way in and out. So, too much waiting, too much cost raising, too chaotic. I think I'll find somewhere else for the time being.

In doing a front yard upgrade, we cut down 6 arbovitaes and had quite a bit of yard debris. After setting aside what could be used for firewood, the remainder was recycled at McFarlanes. It was cheap and the service is good.

Really should add to Google you are not accepting yard debris. Google is how most people view you and to only update the website is not doing enough as a business for your customers. Will not be a customer again.

Showed up to drop off only to find out they weren't taking any yard debris? Do you think they could take the time to put that on their website? The guy was really rude about it. Not how I would treat my customers

On Saturday, 5-31-25 at around 2PM I was in a very long line waiting to dump my debris. The line started to move forward and from my right a truck pulled in front of me and I slammed on my brakes and the truck went by. A man came out of nowhere banging on my window and was yelling at me in a threatening manner while I stayed calm. He was accusing me of running the stop sign when I sat at the sign for 5 min. And the line started to move forward and a truck pulled out in front of me. The man was one of the tractor drivers with gray hair, about 6 foot, has a large belly, with a cap on his head. He walked away threatening to not let me dump my debris. He got on his tractor and was real loud and yelling at people. Ive been dumping here for years and never ran into anything like this.

Great place with friendly employees. I'm always recycling my yard debri here. They charge by weight instead of volume and I always find the price fair.

This place haven't changed in years I used to work next to the place for years . The smell is terrible it lingers its oder is bad. Sure we got used to it working next door but when you first come here and you better be prepared that's beside the point I mean they do a good job here man they know what they're doing it's cheap to get rid of debris just has to be pretty much no paint no creosote on your wood but it's a good place to get rid of scrap debris leaves they turn it all in the mulch I'll turn it turn it turn it and they only charge 65 a ton plus you can wear your car off all the dust that he gets on there you just have to pay attention do not take your kids here adults only it can be very dangerous you're not paying attention but when people here are great as far as the debris recycling this is the bomb peace I'm out

Purchased a large amount of a mix specifically for raised garden beds as the soil at my new home is very thick clay. A dump truck came and delivered it. It smelled terrible and was FULL of bark chips and definitely far more sand than advertised. This stuff gets hard as a rock and dries out way too fast. Everything I planted in it died even with gentle organic fertilizer and I am not a new gardener. I also noted leaf curling and stunted growth consistent with pesticide contamination in plants sensitive to it for the things planted in their mix, whilst plants in large grow bags filled with soil from Home Depot thrived. This was for the same type of plants even! The only difference was the dirt. Fast forward to now (a year later), and with a year of decomposing, some cover crops etc, the McFarlane mix is in slightly better shape but I am having to amend it heavily. (Too much sand!!!) I do not recommend buying any mix from here for use in garden beds.

It was pouring down rain when I arrived. They were short handed and yet they found someone to help little old me, empty out a huge trailer full of yard debris. The wet stuff was still coming down when I left, very dark and dreary, but that didn't stop Emily from greeting me with a smile, telling me it was only $11.50 (I was expecting it to much more) So even with the sky dumping water, the 1st time experience to McFarlanes was outstanding.

This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered fine compost from McFarland and I am so happy with them! Dan, the driver, is AMAZING! He called to make sure it was going to be dumped in the exact spot I wanted and it was a cheery voice to hear in the morning! Lori (If I remember right) is one of the office lady’s who takes my call and is super helpful as well. I couldn’t remember the name of McFarlane’s so I pulled up old credit card statements to find them because I knew I wanted to use them again! I told my mom how great they were and she apparently has also used them and nothing but good things from get as well! Definitely recommend. They were also better priced than 3 other company’s I had called the first time around and their fine compost is incredible!

McFarlane’s is close to our house and has been our go to place for taking our yard debris and buying bark dust. It’s always been reasonably priced $15-25 for a full size pickup or small trailer load of debris. We had lots of tree damage during the February 2021 ice storm and wanted to get it cleaned up asap so we took it to McFarlane’s. Our pickup and trailer load of branches was $90! Are you kidding??? I am strongly against companies that take advantage of people to increase profits during a time of disaster and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Great organized facility.. friendly and cheap prices.. you can dump a truck load of yard debris for around $20. Great for young boys to watch Big Trucks..

This place has turned from great to absolutely awful within the past year. First they removed the ability for account holders to avoid the scale when being charged by yards. Forced pros and account holders to wait in the scale line, even if they’re not being weighed. This has caused a major inconvenience for pros and account holders. Then they increased their rates by $3 a yard. Which honestly I can understand, but it just came as without notice. This last visit, they have completely removed the ability to be charged by yards. I normally about $65 for 5 yards, this last visit I paid $93 FOR THE SAME FULL TRAILER! THIS IS INSANE! We visit about 1 once a week and I’m very disappointed with direction the management has gone. Will be looking for another place to send our business.

This place has been here for a while. I’ve used them to purchase soil amendments & to get rid of my yard debris. I’ve always had great customer service. Even when I’ve shown up 10 minutes before closing after a full day of clearing debris - ‘always friendly & helpful! And inexpensive. They even give a senior discount. Hello! Yes, I’ll keep coming back. Added bonus - I love the smell of the dirt. It’s my happy place.

Only about 8 bucks for 400 pounds of yard debris. Amazing place with the quickest in n out service. No waiting like at the dump.

Been going here for decades, and is perfect for being able to drop off large quantities of brush and yard debris, as well as pick up bark, soil, and gravel for your landscaping. People have always been friendly, prices reasonable, and good hours. 3 keys to happiness here: 1) Always cover your load going in and out, it's cheaper and keeps the roads clean; 2) Put a tarp UNDER your load as well, you can drag it out in seconds; and 3) Gravel is heavy, don't order too much and overload your truck!
