Lost trust in their capabilities to fix certain car issues. Totally misdiagnosed issue that was found by two other car repair places. Wasted over $1000.

The care I recieved at ER Auto’care’ was terrible and I will never be returning. On my way to work, I was forced to find a mechanic due to engine stutters/misfires and a blinking engine light. I am not from the area so I googled car repair shops, and ER Autocare was at the top of the list with fantastic ratings. Upon arriving at their Plain City location (around 8:45 am) I was received by Chris who said that they would run their diagnostic test and do their best to find the source of the problem. As you would expect, I was relieved when he returned later and told me that only one issue came up: one of the oxygen sensors. The price they charged me seemed expensive but I agreed to it since they were fully repairing it and I was ready to be on my way. Instead of returning with good news an hour later, Chris came out and informed me that when they were running tests (after replacing the initial oxygen sensor), the other oxygen sensor began reading bad and they needed to replace it. I was very frustrated and already felt slightly manipulated but after asking several questions I eventually agreed to it. That was a huge mistake. An hour later Chris returned again with more bad news: once they replaced the second oxygen sensor, the diagnostic test signaled that the fuel injector was needed to be replaced and the car would not run properly without the repairs. The grand total for this piece was a $800. I couldn’t believe it and I was NOT about to agree to that repair without outside advice, so I called my dad. He has mechanical experience and once I explained to him what was going on he actually talked with Chris and asked several questions to make sure we were getting the best price possible. Eventually we decided to let them replace it and they worked on the car for another three hours. Later on at 5:15 pm, Chris came out and told me that they were confident the car was fixed and running smoothly, even though it had apparently stalled during one of the test drives. I took his word since I was in a rush to get to a commitment at 6 and paid the total of $1400. As I drove away, my heart sank. After spending all my savings and sitting at the mechanic shop for eight hours, my car was running worse than it had been that morning before taking it to the shop. I made it home and the next day I called ER Autocare because there was no way I was going to let this slide. All Chris said was that I needed to bring the car in so they could continue to work on it and try to figure out what the issue was, which I was NOT about to do. A friend had recommended Streamline Mechanic so I called them and took my car there the next morning, hoping that they could resolve the problem easily since it had been so difficult for ER to figure out. Streamline went above and beyond my expectations as they found the issue and fixed it in seven hours for a third of the price, and I haven’t had any problems since. In summary, I will not be returning to ER autocare and will never recommend it to anyone. Do not take your car there if you want to save your precious time and money.

Had front brakes done there today. Service writer intentionally and deliberately misled me about the total so he could get my approval to do the work. Show up to pay and the nice lady tells me a way more expensive price. Thought they would be trustworthy, and they probably are overall, but the service writer was just plain dirty.

I spent $600 there and got a coupon in the mail the next day for $50 off and they will not honor it. I think it’s horrible way to do business.

The staff and mechanics at ER Plain City are the best! They worked with me on my brake situation to get to the right solution! I highly recommend them for any repair! They are very fair and awesome to work with!

My husband and I have been bringing all of our personal and commercial vehicles in to ER. The team has been very honest and straightforward regarding the work needing completed. They always give us a detailed diagnostic report and allow us to pick and choose what services we deem necessary. Highly recommend!!

ER Plain City does a great job with our vehicles. On time repairs with no issues.

First time using ER. They were great. I stopped in for an estimate and it was significantly lower than a similar competitor. They were able to take my vehicle right then and it now runs much better.

I had a leaky tire and went to e&r tire. They were busy but they made some adjustments and got me in right away. Now the tire is holding air just fine.

New to the area and don’t have my independent mechanic close anymore so stopped in and talked with Brandon about a P0299 (turbocharger code) and loss of power on my 2014 F150 last Wednesday. Told him I was looking for a new place, being new to the area, that was honest and fair and hoped to be able to go hunting that weekend. Said I could bring it in the next morning and drop it off which I did. They called a couple hours later and it was finished. Bill was about half I was expecting. Picked it up later and left to go hunting Friday. No problems 2 1/2 hour drive each way. And shot a deer Friday evening. Thanks for the quick turnaround! I recommend ER Auto and will use them again.

I took my 16 Ford Fusion in for a full synthetic oil change $100. They told me I had a very bad oil leak coming from the oil pan gasket and it would cost about $900 to fix. I never have to add oil and my new driveway is spotless. They showed me pictures which shown a few drops of oil on the pan . I was already aware it has been seeping from the valve cover gasket for years. I have a background in car and truck repair and feel bad for someone who does not know better and took them at their word and was out $900.

Worked on my car for years; the price is well worth it if you care about your vehicle. Everywhere else is expensive and of mostly low quality. I would rather choose ER every time. Don't know what I would do if I didn't have one near me

I dropped off rotors to be turned, yesterday. I just walked in and the manager asked" Did he call you?" One of my rotors couldn't be turned but they didn't bother to go ahead and do the other one. I live in Plain City and just wasted my time dealing with this store ! Not to mention a vehicle I have to invest even more time into. Nobody called me to let me know what was going on with my rotors. I will not be back!

You guys do a great job. I am always confident that you will give me a fair price and not try to get me to pay for things I don’t need. The work you do is always good and you stand by it. I really appreciate that I can get a loaner car if you have to keep my car for an extended period of time. Thanks for all you do! I have recommended your business many times to others.

Ive never been able to get same day service on my diesel. Nor have I ever not cringed when I seen the price. With ER they service my needs immediately and treated me as a person, not a number. I actually paid less than I expected. And not because they gave it away because they are in business and thriving, but because it opened my eyes to how ridiculous the other companies were and how they take advantage of other people because of there lack of knowledge or desperation. They even swept out my vehicle and shined my tires. Another totally unexpected way they put the customer and the quality of there work first. I will never look elsewhere for any automotive or mechanical needs again. ER is the place for all your automotive needs

Probably a minor deal to them but….Daughter driving back to school and gets a flat. Called ER, spoke with Brandon and just said bring it in and we’ll take a look. What made it a big deal to us was that every other place was about making an appointment. Tire was repaired and daughter on her way in 30 mins tops - no appointment. Minor but big deal to us. Thanks!!

Had our small fleet of vehicles in for service and repairs. They were very thorough and very reasonably priced. Worked with us to get our fleet done in a very reasonable time frame that worked for us. Would highly recommend these guys for your vehicle needs

The team at ER Autocare are totally awesome! I have gotten my repairs done there for the last couple years, and they even have companies that can assist in financing repairs that might cost more than expected!

Amazing, timely ? work..and very affordable ?.. I had front brake pads and rotors replaced and it was $140 cheaper than a dealership.. Definitely will be my first choice from here on out! Thank you ?

ER AutoCare responded quickly. They were efficient and efficient in responding to my tire issue: Resolving the dashboard warning, explaining why the issue, how they fixed it and got me back on the road in 30 minutes or less! Brenda Gonzalez

I have been taking my Honda Pilot to ER for a couple of years now and their service has been great! If I need a rental car they can provide me with one and I have found that their prices are significantly less than at a dealership! Their employees are very courteous and I will continue to take my car to ER!

I drove over a screw in my front tire and the team at ER was so professional and nice. I dropped in without an appointment and thankfully they could fit me in that afternoon for a tire patch and I was back on the road within the hour. Very clean and organized business!

ER AutoCare has arrived. I have been dealing with ER for over 5 years and started out with them when they were in a small off the beaten path shop in a cornfield providing quality work at a reasonable price. But I can no longer patronize ER as they have changed. I guess the new building in town and the fleet of rentals has to be paid for by someone. I recently went to ER needing new brakes. As cars need regular maintenance I appreciate ER providing me recommendations for services I should consider. This trip along with the brakes, suggestions were for Spark Plugs, Engine Air Filter, Drive Belt and Oil Change. All of these things I considered having done, UNTIL, I saw the estimate Front Brakes, Rear Brakes and all the above could be done by my auto shop of 5 years for the low price of $3,200. Excuse me, ER there must be a mistake. Nope that was the price for ER. Thankfully that wasn’t the price I paid, and Thankfully someone recommended their brother that works on cars. Everything but oil change and drive belt was done by this individual for (you may want to sit down) $550. No typo, Rock Auto online parts and a Saturday afternoon. Sorry ER, I won’t be making this months rent or car fleet payment or any other payments for you. Looks like I can no longer afford your services. Too bad you have nice people that work for you and do good work, but I could really use that extra $2,300.

Did great work and were ready and able to fix our vehicle the same day we brought it in for diagnostics. They let us use a courtesy car (huge help and money saver so we didn’t need to get a rental to drive our kids around). They also took off a chunk of money from our total bill because they didn’t need all the labor funds they quoted us. I found that to be very honest of them, they could have charged us the total and we never would have known the difference. We had a great experience all around!

I had an excellent experience at ER Autocare Plain City and a big part of that was thanks to their incredible general manager, Nathan Raines! From the moment I walked in, he went above and beyond to make sure I felt valued as a customer. Nathan took the time to personally greet me and listened carefully to the issues I was having with my car. He explained the repair process in clear, easy-to-understand terms and ensured that I was kept informed at every step with a complicated issue I was having with my vehicle The repairs themselves were top-notch, and the team worked efficiently and professionally, clearly a reflection of Nathan's great leadership. I left feeling confident that my car was in great hands. I highly recommend ER Autocare to anyone in need of reliable automotive services. I’ll definitely be a returning customer!

I took my car in for what turned out to be a compression issue in one of the cylinders. The team, led by my representative Colson, went above and beyond to properly diagnose the issue, then fight with my warranty company for replacement (nearly $10000). My car was there for over a month, but I received nearly daily updates from Colson and was able to drive a loaner which tremendously helped. You all earned my business for life!

Update: they have moved to a much more convenient location.... they paid me $10 for this 5 star review. Update: after several years of getting good service and $22 oil changes at Schrock, ER bought them out and more than doubled the price for oil changes. They claim to give "dealers quality service without the dealers price" but they actually cost as much and sometimes more than the dealer. Last time my wife took her van to get oil changed, it suddenly started leaking oil. I took it back to them and they said the oil filter base just wore out. Was this because they over tightened it, or caused it some other way? Another $500+ repair! In any case, my wife doesn't trust them anymore. False ad: they are no longer priced lower than the dealer!

Let me begin by stating, I am not one to write negative reviews. But this I could not ignore. Let me tell you my story. I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with 212,000 miles. It had an AC compressor needing to be replaced along with issues pertaining to the power steering. Hearing their ad on the radio I chose to investigate further before taking it in to them. Reading on their website that they were all about keeping vehicles going for 300,000 miles, I assumed, which was my first mistake, that this meant honesty and integrity not to sell a customer on doing more work then was necessary. On July 27, 2020 I took the van in for an inspection and estimated cost of repairs. My wife and I were well treated as we waited. The time it took to get the van in was remarkably quick. I was hopeful. About 20 to 30 minutes later I was asked to go out to the rack which my van was on and speak to a representative in order for him to show me what all needed to be done. He was very confident and convincing as he explained the need to replace the power steering pump, line and gear box. And, since all this needed to be done it would be in my best interest to replace the rack and pinion and outer tie rods do to the high miles on the van. Knowing there was nothing wrong with the rack and pinion I sat and waited on the estimate. Total cost came to $2,729.17! This did not include my AC issue. I told them this was not going to happen. They asked if I would like for them to add coolant to the AC unit and see if they could get it to cool. I gave them the go ahead which was my second mistake. (Thinking back I thought, "If the compressor was not working why try to put coolant in?") It too did nothing for the unit except cost me $181.46. Thankfully that is all I paid for the work although I'm that much less in my pocket. I went home to a local mechanic and told him of the problem. All the power steering needed was the hose replaced. He assured me I could do the work although a little difficult. After 4 hours of work and $130 I had the hose on. It has been three weeks and the power steering is working like new. With that savings I thought I would get the compressor replaced. For an additional $602 it was replaced and cooling like new. It does not take a mathematician to calculate the savings of just over $2,000 by not having ER Autocare to do the work. I called over a week ago with this complaint and thought I might get a response that was a little more than, "We'll check into that and speak to our people." Well, that is my story and I'm sticking to it. The moral of the story is to watch your wallet and be careful not to be sold on items not needing replaced. (RESPONSE 8/18/20) Thank you for your response, but there are no other leaks in the components which you identified. If there were leaks I would have replaced them as well. There have been no drips on my driveway under the van since the repair. Please do not try and push this off on the customer. I'm not questioning your mechanics, but I am saddened by the justification used in response to my complaint. I do not wish ill-will on your business, but hope this will be a reminder to be careful in the future with the estimates you give customers seeking your help.
