Friendly, fair-priced, and quick! I went to Hart’s off of a recommendation. I needed brakes, an inspection, an oil change, and a tire plug. My Tundra has 155k miles and is driving as smoothly as it has since the day I purchased it! If you are in Gaston county, this should be your new automotive shop!

I've been going to Hart's Automotive for years because they are so responsive, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I trust them completely. Years back, I thought I needed new brakes and I recommended they replace them when I took my car to them for an oil change. They didn't. They said my brakes were fine and didn't need replacing! I am still driving with those brakes. Another time, the Honda dealership wanted to charge me $800 to replace a switch on my driver's side window. Hart's charged me around $200. I had problems starting my car last week and if they had been somebody else, they could have sold me a new alternator and starter and maybe even a fuel pump because I don't know much about cars. Instead, Jimmy Hart ran tests and concluded it was my battery still under warranty. They have been around forever and I think they service all of the USPS vehicles in the area. Can't say enough good stuff about them.
Drove from MN and needed to rent a U-Haul for one way back. While I was a long way from home my power steering line broke and these awesome guys lent me tools and space at their shop to fix my truck instead of trying to gouge a out of state traveler! I appreciate this crew very much and made it back safely with no issues. Thank for your help guys!!
The guys at Hart's are awesome! Super friendly and honest and I fully trust them with all of my vehicles to let me know what's going on with them and to charge me a fair and honest rate. They are good people and are not the type to take advantage of you. I recommend them whenever I can. Have faith, there are still good and honest people left in this world and this small business that's been around for year's is one of the good ones!!
The customer service was exceptional. They explained everything to me and made sure I understood what they were talking about. Even helped me as far as looking up and trying to get a part for my daughter's car cheaper that was not even the car they were working on. She lives 3 hours from here but they were willing to help me not only get the correct part but at a cheaper price and have it shipped to her, she's a college student! I would recommend them 💯
I have known Jimmy Hart Sr. Since 1990 and he and his family has always treated me and my family like they were family. I fully trust Hart's Automotive with the care needed for our vehicles.
Absolute worst. I had my vehicle there for over a month. I gave a date I needed it back by and they agreed to it. I called to check in and they told me it would be ready. I called the day of and no one knew if it was ready and told me someone would call.me back, no one did. The next day we drove down and the person said he was not sure what was still wrong with it but knew it was not ready and to call back Monday?? How am I suppouse to get to work Monday?? I call on Monday after taking the day off work to find out only one item out of three was fixed after a month! He said he honestly just did not want anything else to do with it and to come pick it up....??? What kind of mechanic says that??? We then drove to my vehicle and it would not turn on!!??? We went back a week later and it was so dead we could not even jump it!!! They left my key in the igniton and completely drained a new battery I put into it a week before dropping it off at this shop... We had to save up for a tow ontop of all of this. I called this morning to tell him the tow company was calling him to get permission to pick up my vehicle up form his lot and he started yelling that he was not dealing with this becuase he was not at his shop and the vehicle has been there for a month. I said yes we tried to take it many times and my vehicle is completely dead. I was trying to explain to him that I only needed him to give permission to the tow company to pick up my car. He continued to yell over me and hung up on me... I tried to call him back and he blocked my phone number!!!! Most unprofessional place ever. If you did not want to work on the vehicle or thought it was too much after looking at it, then you could have told me this right in beginning.
First time there and will be back for all my automotive work. They were quick and did a wonderful job. The best part was the customer service. They are the friendliest gentlemen I have meet. Had great conversations with everyone and drove away feeling like I just came from a friend's house.
The Hart family at Hart Automotive are a blessing. A truly honest and fair mechanic shop which is hard to come by these days. They treat you like family and I trust ONLY them with all my vehicles. I recommend them highly for any of your automotive needs.
We rented our UHaul from the Hart’s. Unfortunately we got it stuck in some mud. We called Hart’s because we couldn’t get UHaul to answer!! Darren and his dad came out during their lunch time and helped us out. Absolutely a class act, very personable, helpful and did not charge us. Just a great team!!!!!
Love this place. We came to Gastonia to buy a car, and I don't usually trust my husband's choice of garages, but he really hit the nail on the head with this one. They did a great inspection, caught all the mechanical stuff I noticed on the test drive plus some cosmetic damage I completely missed. Gave me a full run down on the pros and cons of push button ignition, which I had never repaired before. Really a top notch place. If I brake down in Gastonia I'm getting it towed to these guys.
I have been going here for years and had nothing but amazing service. They always tell me when I need, what I don't, and what can wait. Quick work, amazing prices, and very reliable. Had everything from basic oil changes and tire rotations, to paint work, to towing done by them and wouldn't go anywhere else!
Excellent automotive shop that you can truly trust! This family business is the only place you should go, they can do it all. Darren was very friendly and explained what he was doing for my repair in very clear and plain terms. He pointed out another minor issue but didn't pressure me to fix it that day, unlike other places I've been. The repair was also half the price of what the other guys quoted me. This was my first visit based on a recommendation, and I will absolutely come back here for my next repair.
Yesterday I called Hart's Automotive Service around 2:30 PM. I asked what time they closed and he said normally around 1:30. When I told him my problem, he said to call him if I didn't find anyone that could inspect my car. I had been out of town all weekend and thought I could get my car inspected anywhere in NC. I called one other person and they were closed as well. Mr. Hart called me back and said if I could be over there within 45 minutes he would get my car inspected for me. What a wonderful experience, a very nice man. It's good to find someone that is honest. I choose him due to the fantastic comments comments that he had received from other clients. I am going back on Friday for them to change my oil. I think that I have found my mechanic while I am in Gastonia. Thank you so much for your help.
