I forgot if his name is Max or Alex but he went above and beyond. I am super appreciative of him, he is knowledgeable kind and helped me with my dead headlamp problem. He truly made my day and you guys should be very appreciative to have him.
Max is seriously the best employee!! Love his enthusiasm, attention to detail, and knowledge and expertise!!! I intentionally look for him going to the store and if he isn’t on schedule, I leave and come back when he is available!!! Kudo’s to Max, you rock!! And thankfully my automotive guy sent me to him, apparently all the shops around the area know that he is a hidden gem in plain sight!
There is a particular worker in this store that is so unhelpful and not at all kind. There have now been 2 separate visits to the store where upon being asked seemingly simple questions he either says he can’t help you, doesn’t know, or just says no without hesitation. Then I take the initiative to double check with one of the other workers and they quickly know all the answers and are able to easily solve my problem. I think it’s fine to be new and figuring things out if that’s the case, but when you see someone that needs help and don’t think there’s anything that can be done, I would have appreciated if he checked in with his coworkers just to make sure he did whatever he could do to assist. On top of that he just has no customer service skills. So unfriendly. That combination was enough to have me writing here, I usually never write reviews. Anyway I hope you guys know who i’m talking about and do something about it, it hurts to know some people had to leave the store feeling helpless due to him misleading them into thinking there are no solutions.
Kenny was incredible!! We were visiting the area and our car battery died. He helped us make the best purchase to charge the battery to get home safely and took extra time to teach us about our purchase and practice using it before we left. This is an excellent store with very educated employees!
I ordered parts from here and they never showed up twice and you have to pre pay for the parts. Not only do you have to pay in store but if you want your money back once again you have to go to store. Also most the parts I have bought from here in that past all have had to be Replaced within a year. Unfortunately they are one of the only parts stores in the area. Very friendly staff, that much I can say...
They must have taken down my review from October 2021 but I’m still very upset they advertise that they offer “free installation” for battery purchases yet their employees refused to do so.
Max, from Advance Auto in New Paltz NY is an ?. He not only sold me a battery but after hearing my sad story, gave me a jump with his personal car & referred me to another Angel at the Gulf station down the block right on Main Street.

We go to Advance Auto to buy our batteries for our motorcycles and we take the insurance on the battery in case something happens to it and within that year it's only cost $21 to have that so it was well worth it cuz the battery did fail and they replaced it with no problem we did have to bring the battery back again because the one that we had gotten did not have any amp charge but again they replaced it with no problems and we were on our way thank you Anna
These guys are great they allowed me to make a return from the same store but located in Idaho. Very friendly extremely helpful they've got a customer for life
Was out of state when one of my headlights blew out. Went here to get a new set of bulbs and after picking out the ones I knew I needed, I went yo check it. The cashier (receipt says Anthony.. sorry, not sorry for calling you out bro), insisted I needed two sets because my low and high beams are two separate bulbs on each side. I know my car well, I’ve changed all my lights before.. so I tell him that I know I only need one set. He continues to insist I’m wrong and starts talking about the amount of filaments.. at this point the only way to get him to stop was to buy a second set because I knew I could return them. Stopped by on my way to work this morning to replace my fob battery. They were incredibly helpful and kind. As a new car owner, the staff here is knowledgeable and doesn’t make me feel bad for my inexperience and lack of knowledge.
Their New People are very helpful. Even if they don't have the part. They still care and try not to leave you stranded every time. That impressed me greatly with these new employees.
Riley was very helpful and friendly, went in to get Brakes and Rotors. Also it was very nice to see Scott was managing the store. I'm not a big fan of Auto stores but I can say that these two people made my experience great.
I wasn't sure if my truck was 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive when I went in for a license plate bulb. I guessed wrong and now my GPS is constantly trying to invade Poland. Send help.
Bill and Logan went above and beyond to help me and my customer. As an on-call emergency road services provider, I replace a lot of batteries. These guys did a fantastic job, and have earned praise. Well done!
Poorly managed. Standing here for 15 minutes for a manager to type in a code for an exchange. She's literally at the next terminal bit too busy talking about nonsense.
I would personally like to thank Sarah, she was my guardian Angel Thursday night! I was making a 14 hour drive home and my check engine light came on. She talked me through using the reader thing, showed me how to look up the code and explained how to fix the very minor issue. She gave me piece of mind while making my trip. Then, after everything, I left my driver license, and she even mailed it to me! She is an AMAZING young woman and a true credit to your business. Thank you Sarah!
Usually get decent service here but during this visit I stopped to get a replacement set of windshield wiper blades. As I entered the store I observed, as usual, signs that installation of the blades is free. I also saw the place was devoid of any other customers at that time. The clerk greeted me from the register as I entered and asked what I was looking for. He looked up the part and I paid. I asked him about the installation and he provided me with the claim that he was unable to do so because of an injury, it's a set of wiper blades, geesh. I have dealt with this employee before with similar claims so I didn't bother to argue. I could hear another employee moving around somewhere but didn't feel like arguing.
I am not pleased with this visit.
I like the store. The associates are usually friendly, but one out of every four visits I seem to deal with an uninterested associate. Someone that seems like he'd rather be anywhere else on the planet.
Place is conveniently located but they don't offer the services advertised on their website like battery installations. And they didn't even have basic tools to offer for customers to use. Had to borrow a wrench from another customer because my car had a dead battery. You can find similar prices and discounts at other stores so next time I'll try shopping elsewhere next time.
I love Joe! He's always so helpful when I go in and always recommends the best products, and was willing to come check out my car in the parking lot. I haven't had a bad experience here at all! I highly recommend!
I rented tools for a project, they showed me how the tool works, packed it in my car for me, and was inexpensive... I moved a piano for $15 with 4 strong men, the dolly was perfect, and I didn't have to pay the $300 a piano service would have charged me. That's a great deal.
