I was very pleased with the help I received at Northport (Larkfield) because I had a problem with how my wiper warranty was set up at another store and they went out of their way to assist me and solve my problem. They including Jimmy were very caring and helpful. I was a happy customer because they assured me I did not have to worry. They accommodated me in every way. I will definitely come back again. They are patient and informed. Thank you guys!
I just bought a new truck a couple of days ago. I need an oil change and new wipers. Since I was around the neighborhood I pass by, I was greeted by friendly staff and helped by a gentleman named Jimmy. He helped me find oil, filter, and wipers that best suit my needs. He suggested the engine oil was in promotion where buying a gallon of oil gets you a free oil filter. I took the deal and bought 2 gallons of oil. After he helped me find all my essentials, he recommended doing a fuel system clean with a product named Seafoam. I gave it a chance and took one. Since I used it in my truck, it has been running smoothly. I would recommend this location for there friendly staff and any mechanical needs.
I work around the corner from this location, I went it to grab some wiper blades for my car. I had the pleasure of working with Jason who helped me find exactly what I needed and even offered to help me install them. Id highly recommend this place because of him.
I was RIPPED-OFF! I had a windshield wiper blade fail while on the road, most likely from ice. Had shopped in this store many times so I stopped in to buy a new pair. I chose a decent quality brand and went to check out. The clerk rang up the order and took a spray can of windshield cleaner, said, "This comes with them." and added it to the order. Bosch blades come with cleaner free so I assumed this brand was matching the offer. When I got outside I realized the bill was much higher than I expected and looked at the details. Not only was I charged for the deluxe cleaner but he also added 1-yr maintenance contracts for each wiper blade.
I have to get used to the fact that, since I'm in my 70s, many people feel they can take advantage of me. I still do my own general maintenance (brakes, fluids, filters, belts...) on 4 cars I & my children currently own. With my long history with that store I did not expect to be treated like this.
I challenged the bill & received a refund of about 25% of the total. I will not shop this store again.
Super friendly staff, Jason was extremely helpful and polite. I recommend this location over any other local advanced auto parts store, the service is unmatched.
Have products listed for one price and charged 20% more at the register. When this was brought to the attention of the associate he acted like it was ridiculous for this to be pointed out and the price correction would not be made as what is in the register is what is valid. The associate was either lazy or incompetent or both. It's illegal to post one price and charge another and this will be reported to the county authorities.
Very very very few of the counter people know anything about cars or trucks. They simply plug in your year/make/model information into the computer... Also, because of their higher prices, you're forced to go to places like Walmart for oil which is generally about $10 cheaper per gallon.
Another "CHAIN" auto store yes. But they keep the shelves stock and the ppl are nice. Even when they didn't have something I needed they offered to get by the next day. Can't beat that.
*UPDATE FEB2024- same issues, have even gotten a bit worse-I will not be going here anymore.
2020-Lately when you go in, you're barely acknowledged by at least three people working there, doing something other than helping you. Sometimes they take a phone order while they're helping you and it drags out the process. Happened to me more than once.

Salesman are great.l was checking my windshield wipers and noticed the blade was spilting.Went to store explained what my issue was and he looked up part needed and installed . I know it's a easy fix but nice to have it done for you 😊

This is not true.
If you order online then have your wife drop her car off to have the battery installed, the guys behind the counter will be rude and dismissive about it. They'll tell you that they don't do installations with an attitude. When you call to inquire about it they are dismissive and tell you to call the corporate office. Didn't care one bit.
Returned the battery. No intention of shopping here or at any other Advance Auto Parts again. Great job guys!
Small showroom but HUGE amount of hard parts. All major brands, no "white box mutli line" parts here. Some OEM Ford and Delco parts. Most parts have a limited lifetime warranty. Join Speedperks program for great discounts online and in store. They also support the local volunteer departments with special discounts with proper identification, just ask! Military discount as well with proper identification.

A white man can get help inside the store but a colored man has to go online for help ...is this something new thats going on ? Worst customer service ive ever encountered with..im disappointed and cant believe what this world is coming too.
I stopped in for car mats and the selection was pretty slim and what was available wasn't the best quality or very appealing. Not sure if I will go back for anything else.
The shelves were empty, nothing in stock. I asked the person behind the counter if there was anymore motor oil. He stated back to me what ever is there. If I didn't really need the oil, I would have gone somewhere else.
The staff there are patient and they know their product. They were able to help me find something as a replacement for a very old car. Thank you guys the part worked perfectly!
Very small but half the guys there are ok. The other half look at me like they don't want me to buy something. The Adv Auto on Jericho in Commack, those guys are all nice, courteous, bigger building and openly welcome you and ask if they can help you. This place needs some customer service training. PS I am a mechanic and am super friendly.
Everytime I look something up online with the ZIP code the website says that the store has it in stock I know when I get there they don't have the part in stock they tell me I can order it haven't be there in a day or two but I just wasted my time and money coming out here the first time for nothing this is happened on more than one occasion
Good customer service and easy online pickup. I recommend purchasing online and picking up at the store so you can use coupons that available online only.
