To be clear this review is about the Harriman location. I brought my car in for a NY state inspection and when completed was given a list of service recommendations. It was on this visit, that I was shocked to discover that they were engaging in the dishonest practice of recommending unnecessary service. During this visit, I was told the "air filter was dirty" and needed replacing. When I got home I pulled the filter and by no reasonable standard was it even close needing replacement. In addition, I was also told the drive belt was "visibly worn/dry" and should be replaced. Upon inspection, I found the belt was in such good shape it could be mistaken for a new one - not worn, not cracked and not dry. It is highly likely that their technicians are being incentivized to "find" services to up sell to unsuspecting customers. The Technician who made these false claims, according to the paperwork was B. Morocho - yes, I'm naming names. When I rejected the suggested services, the service advisor, Chris McShea went from polite to visibly frustrated and unprofessionally condescending. My family has been bringing their cars to Freeman's for years (mostly for tires, alignments and inspections) but our trust has been shaken by this incident. BTW I reported this situation to them when they solicited feedback about my visit and received no response, hence my decision to write this review.

Ray from Freeman’s (Monroe NY) was super helpful. He not only charged my car battery, but also moved my husband’s truck, which I couldn’t back into the right spot. He was courteous, professional and very, very nice! 5 stars!

I’ve been using Freedman’s Auto Repair for the past 15 years, starting with our business trucks and continuing with our personal vehicles. Their professionalism is truly unmatched. The team works incredibly hard, their prices are always fair, and the turnaround time is impressively fast. What really sets them apart is how available and responsive they are—you always feel taken care of. I can’t praise Freedman’s enough and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, reliable auto repair.

I’ve trusted this shop for years because they always do a great job. Recently, they fixed an oil leak I had put off longer than I should have, and they handled it quickly and efficiently. As always, excellent service.

My family and I have used Freeman's Auto and Tire for years. They are our trusted, local garage for all of our auto repairs. My truck was recently broken into, and after my windows were replaced my truck would not go to sleep, and would drain my battery. I tried to fix it myself (e.g., replaced the battery, searched for the voltage draw, etc.) but was unsucessful, so I called Freemans. After performing a number of diagnostic tests they were able to eliminate the battery draw. They kept my truck for a few days to confirm that the issue had been resolved, each day retesting my truck. After all the work was completed I was only charged a diagnostic fee, which was extremely fair and reasonable. Prior to bringing my truck into Freemans I contacted the dealership and they wanted 3 times as much to diagnose my problem. My family and I will continue to use Freemans for our auto repair and maintenance needs.

Freeman's breathed new life into my car! I had several tricky problems and they tackled everything and did so with excellent communication and dedication. I love their invoice system as well, it's very helpful. I will definitely be returning.

I am so upset because I recommended all of my friends to use Freeman’s auto. I am quite embarrassed when several of them told me that they had work done work that didn’t need done & they were overcharged for it! So we looked into all the work over the last years that we too realized that we also were overcharged on stuff done on our car! We also had unnecessary work bc we believed they were an honest auto repair shop. I definitely would NOT recommend them to anyone.

Freeman's Auto provided excellent service with a friendly atmosphere. They did quality work while keeping me informed and sticking to their estimated time frame. The office maintains a personal, hometown feel which makes it more comfortable dealing with auto issues. Quality work and friendly service makes for a good experience.

I’d been fortunate to deal with service advisor John Esposito for several years at another auto shop. When I learned he had moved to Freeman’s, it was a no-brainer to make Freeman’s my go-to place for car maintenance. John is honest and fair — he never pushes you to get work done unless it’s necessary. And he’s always happy to answer questions. Freeman’s has always had a great reputation, and with John there, they’ll be getting all my business.

I first used Freeman's when we moved to the town 5 years ago. A friend recommended them. They are honest, friendly, fair, professional, courteous, and environmentally friendly. Choosing Freeman's for our car maintenance was a fantastic move. I know that the job is done right. I always leave their lot confident my car has been serviced correctly!

I’ve been a long-time customer of Freeman’s, but this experience ended that. I went for my yearly inspection and was told my car failed. My car had no check engine lights on indicating any problems. I was charged a $200 diagnostic fee that was never disclosed to me in cost. I was told the fuel pump was leaking and was quoted $1.8k to fix it in order to pass inspection. After which they said they could make it cheaper by sourcing less expensive parts once I voiced concern about the cost being high. I declined and took my car direct to the original dealership for a second opinion. They found no leak and passed my inspection. When I returned to Freeman’s with this information and requested a refund for the undisclosed diagnostic cost, staff became hostile, raised their voices attempting to deflect responsibility, and told me I was no longer welcome instead of addressing the discrepancy. After reading recent reviews describing similar experiences, I have serious concerns about transparency and pricing practices. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any work and to go elsewhere.

From tires, service, maintenance, emergencies…. Freeman’s is the BEST. You will not find better service, appropriate pricing, or exceptional attention anywhere else! I have entrusted all of my vehicles with these amazing gentleman for over 20 years (before the merger) and I won’t take my cars anywhere else. They are experts at their craft, professional, always knowledgeable, timely and honest, and just extremely great people! Kerri, taking care of business at the front of the house, is absolutely lovely and we adore her! She’s always there to answer your questions and goes above and beyond. I will still never forget how very consoling they all were when I had to tearfully say GoodBye to my 1996 VW Cabrio 15 years or so ago! Yes I cried, and yes, they even gave me hugs. These are your guys!

I want to personally thank Melvin who came to my rescue this evening through AAA. He was so friendly and personable!! Put me at ease the min he got there, explained the process, got it done so quickly and then ensured everything was ok for me before leaving! Beyond excellent service and professionalism!! I really look forward to using this shop going forward for any and all needs!!

I don't live in Monroe. I have family I visit often. It's good to have a reliable source. My first experience with Freeman's was excellent.

Freeman’s is THE most popular and trusted mechanic in Monroe/Woodbury for a reason. Their customer service, their honesty and fairness, and the quality of their work is incredible. My car was DEAD this past week, and I had just purchased a battery from a local auto parts store on Sunday, so the situation was rather odd. I used to take my cars to this place for years and liked the service people I dealt with but it's changed to more of a dealership feel and price. The last straw was when they made me feel like I was forced into a $1300 repair just to pass inspection on something that had no bearing on how the car ran. I went down the road and the car passed inspection and another repair cost me 1/2 of what Freeman's was charging me. Just feel like a can't trust them- I'm not going back, plenty of other good shops around That you can trust.

I went in for a transfer case fluid replacement. They finished the job early and at a better price than other shops. Freemans is definitely my go to mechanic, great job guys! ?

Very helpful staff. Service was fast and they worked with me to do the work and pick up the car at a later date due to my schedule. Very accommodating and professional.

Got my truck inspected and did an oil change over at their new location in Beacon with Abel and he did an awesome job! He fully explained to me my inspection and let me know what to prioritize with my truck. Will definitely be returning and bringing my other truck to Abel also!

I can’t say enough great things about Freeman’s Auto! I brought in my Niece Isabella‘s2009 Honda Civic and had a situation with Endurance warranty that was frustrating, but Dennis truly went above and beyond. He reached out multiple times, tried his absolute best to get them to cover the transmission service, and never gave up on helping me. Even though Endurance wouldn’t budge, Dennis still made sure my car was taken care of. The entire Freeman’s staff is excellent, and Patrick always goes out of his way to make you feel like family. Their honesty, dedication, and customer service are second to none. I trust them completely with my car and would recommend Freeman’s Auto to anyone looking for a reliable, caring shop. Thank you!! I’ve owned used cars my entire life and I am pushing 50 years old. The mechanics and customer service team at Freeman auto in Monroe have helped me through quite an extensive list of repairs for my Toyota Sienna. I have to say that overall, I am very pleased with the service that I received. The quality of their diagnostics and repairs seem to be superior to most other mechanics I’ve dealt with in my life. Also another point that I would like to note, Each time I went in there recently, I had three different people deal with my account. At first, I was hoping that the same person would deal with me because that just made sense, However, I have to say that there was no difference in the high-quality of customer service I received from the three different individuals that dealt with me at the desk each time I went. I wouldn’t even think about it next time walking in there. After walking away and thinking about it, this might’ve been the most impressive part of my experience recently. I would highly recommend this mechanic to anybody with any kind of car issue. I would even recommend that people travel to use their service. That’s how good I think they are. I was recommended to Freemans by a local friend. Such a recommendation that we chose to drive from the Poconos to Monroe NY for servicing. I met with Dennis. Best I can say that as a prior business owner myself HE and TEAM are exactly what this world needs. Dennis step by step advised what was going on with my car. His service, detail, sense of humor (thanks my friend) during a few rough days going in personally was the TOUCH!!! It’s what is service. It’s what is trust. He personified excellent knowledge service and communication. Thank you Dennis and entire team at Freemont. I won’t even consider anybody else moving forward to work on my and all I care fors cars. I was stranded in the highway for over 3 hours because my insurance tow truck company did not arrive. Freeman’s Auto & Tire was contacted shortly after, Michael was there in less than 20 minutes. Khaled my service advisor and his team were amazing. Khaled kept in touch to give me updates on my car. Once my vehicle was scheduled for pick up it felt brand new. I highly recommend Freeman’s Auto & Tire.
