This assisted living is beautiful It feels like a Victorian house The staff is wonderful My father loved the food. The activities director is amazing and there were varied activities for the residents to enjoy and stay active. The care managers treated my Dad with excellent care. The nurses and medical staff were top notch. My Dad lived here for a year and my only regret is that I did not encourage him to move there sooner.

Sunrise has been a wonderful experience for my father. He requires a high level of care and we are so fortunate to have found this wonderful community. The residents are engaged all day with activities, the care is top level, the staff is incredible and everyone is warm and friendly.

My mom liked this place when she first moved in 15 years agp. Since then, it's really gone downhill. Food is subpar, van is constantly broken, so very few outside activities. Some workers are caring, others are verbally abusive. Fees go up exponentially every year. We're moving my mom out, which isn't easy since change is tough for a 91 year old. But, she's paying $150,000 a year to be treated like dirt. No thank you. Bait and switch. Look elsewhere.

My mom has been at Sunrise of North Lynbrook for seven months now since her care needs have increased. Aside from the residence, being beautiful and clean, she was assigned an excellent care manager. We certainly hit the jackpot with Pat. She is kind, caring, patient and Mom just loves her. It’s a comfort to know that she is being so well taken care of.

There are angels on Earth and they work in the Sunrise Reminiscence unit. The care that my mother received was extraordinary. The woman who work there are not doing a job. They are doing their life’s work. They are not only skilled but are filled with compassion and love. They have unending patience. They could not only arouse my mother out of a stuporous state while she was in hospice to feed her or clean her but they could get her to smile and respond. Two that stand out to us were Promise and Rachel. They brought out the best in her at the worst time. It was like taking care of an infant. The connection that they had with her was nothing short of remarkable. We all end up at the end of life the way we were in the beginning. We are helpless and need angels to care for us. We cannot thank them enough for the comfort that they gave to my mother but also the comfort that they gave to us. Thank you, Lorraine Millers Family

I recently visited my mom who is a resident at Sunrise Lynbrook. I would like to commend executive director Larissa Kostal. Larissa’s compassion and commitment to the seniors is remarkable. I live out of state and don’t get to visit as often as I’d like too. Knowing Larissa and her staff are there to support the residents makes me feel my mom is in the best place possible.

The staff at Sunrise of North Lynbrook is very professional and they really go out of their way to accommodate residents and their families. The director, Larissa, is someone who explains everything in detail. She answered all the questions I had and I feel a lot better knowing that my loved one is able to stay here in her golden years. I highly recommend Sunrise of North Lynbrook for those seeking the proper facility to care and assist their loved ones!

My uncle has been a resident of Sunrise North Lynbrook for close to four years now. In that time, the quality of care he receives has been excellent. The staff attend to all of his needs and give him a sense of comfort and security that makes him feel right at home. I would highly recommend their services.

My Mom was a resident at Sunrise North Lynbrook for 10 months before she sadly passed away. The facility is well maintained, attractive and comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond daily to keep the residents engaged and comfortable. Every staff member is kind, patient and enthusiastic, not only with the Seniors but with visiting family members. Smiles are endless!! It is comforting and heartwarming to know that my Mom received the round-the-clock care that I believe she deserved. I will miss the wonderful people I came to know during her stay! Thank you very much!!!!?

It is always a difficult decision to place a loved one in a facility. My mother moved in after COVID and I wasn’t sure it would work. I now can honestly say it was the right move for my mom. She’s doing more activities, socializing more and most of all I feel she is getting the care she needs. The Sunrise team along with our family have forged a relationship that has been to the benefit of my mom. I would recommend Sunrise Newtown Square if you are looking for a place for your loved one. The communications are always signed The Sunrise Team….our family is very happy with the team!!

In late spring of 2021, I realized I’d have to move my mom from our home of 47+ years to an assisted living facility. I came across Sunrise of North Lynbrook and eventually Mom decided to go with them; she moved in July 2022. The place is beautiful and well-kept outside and in. The staff is superb—caring, friendly, on point. Starting with Maria BG a full year before Mom moved in, to Larissa the ED, to Maureen at the front desk, to Erica the activities queen, to Aida, Jackie and all the nurses and members of the care team… All fantastic. Expectedly, my mom didn’t have an easy time adjusting after feeling like her world was coming undone, but over time the kindness, patience and disposition of the staff helped put her at ease and she and the other residents got to know and like each other more and more. After four months, when she referred to Sunrise as her new family, I knew she’d be ok. She’s taking part in more of the activities and is settling in more day by day. Bingo is now her thing and everyone knows if there’s music playing, look out! So grateful to God for guiding me there and for the Sunrise of North Lynbrook team for their great work!! Highly recommend them.

I am glad that my mother, who passed at 98, was at Sunrise for two and a half years. She could be cranky, but she liked the people who work there, and she got the care that she needed. I was also very glad that she received additional care from Grane Hospice during her last year.

When our family decided that our mother must leave her home and move into assisted living, we toured many facilities to determine what would be best for her. Sunrise Newtown Square was our clear choice. Some other facilities had beautiful infrastructure and support staff, but we thought they could not handle our mother’s memory issues correctly. We also experienced some places trying to take advantage of us financially instead of telling us they were not a good match for the situation. Their property is clean, modern, and built to give people with memory issues, which our mother has, a feeling of a home. It is also in a perfect location for our family. The staff that gave me the property tour answered our questions, reviewed our situation, and worked quickly, thoroughly, and with no sales pressure. The nurse met with my mother in the hospital to ensure she would be a good fit for Sunrise. Our mother, who very much wanted to continue to live in her home of over 50 years, quickly transitioned successfully. Fortunately, we have many family and friends in the area. As they have visited, all have left with positive feedback for Sunrise and all their staff. A situation like ours never has a perfect solution, but our family considers ourselves blessed with how well things have turned out. We went from having constant worry to peace of mind. Our mother is being cared for by professionals who understand her needs and have experience servicing them and the resources to do it properly.

My father moved in Nov-2021, the workers were attentive to my father's needs. There was a lot of turnover with staff from day 1. I fault the leadership for that there was a disconnect. The leadership was insensitive and uncompassionate regarding an incident in Nov-2022 and immediately basically gave an ultimatum without having all the facts to why the incident might have occured. And when more facts came out that would give cause for the incident instead or re-evaluating things leadership would not change its position in order to save face for making a rash decision from day 1...If you have a loved-one with any cognitive impairment, but not dementia or alzheimer look elsewhere. I did also have concerns with billing and why it show credits and recharges from previous month. Watch the billing especially if you have auto-pay make sure you set a max pay limit, because it will try to charge the amount on the invoice even if you have spoken with the business manager or make a payment after billing cycle, that payment will not be reflected properly and you will be double-paid..thank God i had a limit set..This took nearly 3 billing cycles to resolve... Stay away from this place....its a matter of time before something major happens...

It is a nice place for your loved one to spend the rest of their life. The staff is very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed touring the facility meeting the staff and even some of the residents. It was clean. They have a wide variety of daily activities.

My mom had a short respite stay at Sunrise after partial hip replacement in June. As a family we knew she was not strong enough to return home after only 21 days of PT and OT. Since Sunrise Newtown Square is less than a 5 min drive from my home, I spoke with the director Kevin who was very professional, caring and explained the short stay program to me with the option to become a permanent resident.. My family and I found Sunrise Newtown Square to be friendly, very welcoming. She met friends there and had frequent family visits. Live Entertainment, fun games and social events as well as religious services kept her active. While we wished she stayed permanently , she wanted to return to her home where she lived for 56 years. We are grateful for the terrific staff members, Kevin, Dom, Jody, Zakema to name a few and the many others who took the time to make her stay fun and comfortable. Thank you so much ?

My mother stayed here for her last months. The transition from home to assisted care with her advanced and quickly worsening dementia plus related complications made this a very challenging time for me. The situation was very difficult as they were facing the same staffing challenges everyone was at t hat time (and still are facing as I'm writing this) That said, mom was cared for, respected and started enjoying her life more than she had previously. They had great entertainment come in more than weekly and had to overcome moms resistance and hygiene and eating. Her resistance to eating preceded her residency at Sunrise by years but was on a steep bad trajectory before she arrived and I knew it was worsening regardless. I can't say the experience was easy for me but that was the situation I was in. They did everything they could to help Mom and I through this time and it was obvious they care deeply and do all they can for the residents.

I came home from college to visit my grandma. She was telling me about one of the activities she did last week and how much fun she had. Every time I visit the staff always greets you and the environment is very welcoming. So glad we chose Sunrise North Lynbrook.

Five stars is really not enough for how I feel about my experience with Sunrise of North Lynbrook. Let me start by saying how absolutely beautiful this facility is. From the impeccable manicured grounds to the facility itself reminiscent to me of a beachside retreat, this place was stunning. Not only was I thoroughly impressed with the outside, but when you step inside, the decor and ambiance is stunning. The staff was nothing short of welcoming and affable, they took their time with me on the tour, answering any and all questions that I had and was so thorough, patient, kind and considerate. I never felt rushed and it was such an enjoyable experience. I can’t say enough good things about what I had the pleasure of experiencing. Beyond words, and absolutely phenomenal. Top of my list is where I put this beautiful place.

Got to visit my aunt and uncle soon after they moved into Sunrise. Was so pleased with the accommodations for my aunt and uncle. Beautiful place and very well kept. Staff is very kind. My aunt and uncle have adjusted so nicely to Sunrise and are very happy which makes us all so happy and puts us at ease.

My beloved father was a former resident at Sunrise of North Lynbrook and my mother currently resides there. This facility truly is the best! From the accommodations, cleanliness and activities to the nurses, care managers and various admin/ building staff, everyone provides an unmatched level of professionalism, kindness and dedication. In countless ways, the combined team helps the individual and their family to adjust to important transition with a sense of security, true caring and emotional support. Plus, during this most challenging time, infection control is meticulously prioritized. For these and more reasons too numerous to mention, Sunrise of North Lynbrook forever has our thanks and gratitude.

My mother-in-law is a resident of Sunrise North Lynbrook for quite a while now. It’s always a pleasure to see her happy and engaged in the multitudes of activities they have there. The staffs kindness, genuine concern and care is something you won’t find anywhere else. Besides, they have a Bistro how could you go wrong!!

My Aunt is a resident at SSL. I have often met them for movies or dinners (pre Covid). That was so nice because my mother would come and we could socialize with her sister (My Aunt)in a public setting. My Aunt was always smiling and happy. We truly got to know the staff and they would go out of their way to make Sure the residents needs were met. They were like Angels. Now with Covid, we have had several zoom meetings. My Aunt always seemed so happy to see us and chat.

My Dad has been at Sunrise of North Lynbrook for a little over a month and there's not enough good things to say about the accommodations, the staff and the overall care and support both he and my family have received. The nursing staff are wonderful, the sales director was informative and welcoming, the administration is friendly and always available to discuss any and all concerns. The activities are fun, conversation groups are interesting and get residents to socialize and communicate. Sitting ourside on the porch overlooking the beautiful landscape is a bit of heaven and my daily visits give me a feeling of home. I feel blessed to have found Sunrise for my Dad. Please check them out if your loved one is ready for the transition to assisted living.

Sometimes things happen for a reason. My mother, who has Alzheimers , had become violent and uncooperative. She was asked to leave another "lifecare" facility with no attempts to change her medications or routines. They just wanted her out. Sunrise welcomed us with open arms, open hearts, and lots of possibilities to try to make mom's adjustment easier. She has been there just over two months and we are thrilled that we moved her. The staff is so knowledgeable and attentive. Everyone from the administrative staff to the aides on the floor are upbeat and welcoming. The communication has been amazing. No matter when I stop in, there is always someone there who knows what is happening with my mother and can answer my questions....even on weekends! We feel very lucky that mom was asked to leave her former place!!!

One month ago, I had no idea of how assisted living could benefit both my mother and I. My mother arrived at Sunrise of Lynbrook on March 5th, 2021 and everything has been uphill ever since. My mother is an 86 yr old survivor of double COVID pneumonia with early onset dementia. My former picky eater has not hd one complaint about the 5 Star menu and her appetite has picked up tremendously. In addition, her care team which consists of Carla, Maxine, Renee, Joann(so many more but I ca't remember all of the names) treat her like a member of their own family. They are extremely patient with addressing her every need!! They request items from home to make her feel AT HOME! Her newly renovated apartment is beautiful!!! The doctors(including Dr Raber), the nursing staff and the entire care team keep me updated on my mother daily. NO STONE GOES UNTURNED WITH THIS TEAM!! I am truly pleased with my decision to send my mother to this facility!!!! On a scale of 1-10, I rate them a 20!!!!

Sunrise is an extraordinary facility; the care, attention and compassion the entire staff has shown my mother since her move-in last fall has been wonderful. They are in constant communication with the family and truly have partnered with us. I highly recommend Sunrise of North Lynbrook.

Care and compassion are the key elements that we experienced as we walked through the door at Sunrise. Environment was clean and welcoming. Staff outgoing and friendly and always willing to help Mom in anyway they could. Mom just loved the “at home” feel in her corner room with many windows and beautiful view. I would certainly recommend Sunrise for your loved one. Terence D

Battered, bruised, cut and suffering from a fungal rash after only 30 days in this facility, We removed our family member before he was killed there. And we can only hope he can recover from the injuries and ailments he suffered there. “Stepford” would be a better name for the facility. Everything is smiles and pleasantries when you are in the caregivers’ presence. What Lies Beneath and what hapoens when you are not is the real story. The reminiscence coordinator is woefully inadequate in the areas of accountability, follow-up, compassion and forthrightness. The Executive Director talks a good game but is clueless about what goes on on the third floor of her facility. I feel sorry for the Director of Sales. Truly well-meaning, his career would be better served at a facility where the people in charge of “care” actually know what the word means and are able to impart it to their staff I could list at least 15 complaints about the Reminiscence Coordinator and her staff and facility. Suffice it to say they are unable, ill-equipped and worst of all NOT interested in delivering on the care for your loved one that they promise.
