Best shop on Long Island hands down! Luigi and the guys at High Grade Auto and Towing do great work, and I never have to worry. From mechanical work, electrical work, and body work. Even towed my vehicle in a pinch from a different county. Great guys that are honest and knowledgeable with reasonable prices. I’ve been taking all my cars that I have owned over the past 10+ years, to get work on and will continue to return. Definitely thankful for Luigi and the High grade auto team.

Truly a highly reliable auto shop that has taken care of all my Subaru’s needs. I highly recommend them as they are knowledgeable and well versed in many makes and models of a wide range of years.

High Grade Auto is the only place I take my cars to for all service matters. Luigi is on point with everything he does. I've been going to High Grade since 2014 and have never had a problem. I've gotten major repairs done on 2 of my cars on the past and didn't wait long to get them back. I did a TRANSMISSION replacement on an older model Acura TL it was ready in 2 days. If you have any issues with your vehicle or simply want to get a nice synthetic oil change (Amsoil Synthetic Oil - look it up) High Grade is the place to go. And remember, you get what you pay for!!!

Luigi and his crew are exceptionally talented in their auto repair and diagnostic skills. They work efficiently and fast and will help you get back on the road quickly, safely and with precision. My husband and I use them for everything from tire repairs, brakes, timing chain replacement to wheel bearings and more.

LUIGI IS THE MAN!!! My brakes gave out when i was driving , they were long past due on brakes and rotors. I called at least 15 shops in the area that were giving me some outrageous prices. Not only was Luigi’s price way more reasonable , they got the work done FAST. And quality work , no aftermarket parts. Really took care of me when i needed it , Great guy and great shop. Highly recommend

I wanted to like these guys. They smile in your face and appear trustworthy. I brought my car in for a timing chain service. I provided the parts, we agreed on a price. I left the car there, a few days later I received a phone call advising me that the car would need an oil change with the timing chain service. I advised them NOT to change the oil, as the oil was recently changed. They insisted, advising that the timing chain job would contaminate the oil. I say ok fine. No price change or dollar amount was mentioned. The next day, the job is finished they call me advising to pick up the car. I inquired about the original quote, they advised that the price has changed with the oil change, an additional $100. I advised them that no agreement was made on a price change. They insist that i verbally agreed to the new price. As well advising me that they have audio on me stating i agree to the new price. I agreed to listen to the audio, and no mention of a dollar amount from either side is on the audio. But they insist there was. We go back and forth with this like children. This whole ordeal was very unprofessional. Anyway i take the L , i pay the price just to get it over with. I received the invoice. Noting they charged me for 5qts of oil when the car only takes 4 qt. Aswell i checked the dip stick afterwards. Anyway, i get the car back. As i start the engine, i hear new vibrating noises, and notice the brake pedal sinks to the floor. I bring it to their attention. They advised me that the ABS module is making the noise, and this is how i delivered the car to them. This is absolutely not true, the car drove perfectly fine prior to leaving it at their shop. Is it a coincidence that the ABS module is making a noise as soon as its at thier shop? I am now quite frustrated at this point as the car is pretty much unsafe to drive. But i take it and leave as im stuck at this point. The next day i notice one of the front lug nuts snapped off completely. I bring it to their attention they advise they will talk with the tech whom worked on the car. Later on that day i follow up, they all of a sudden remebers that the tech had previously mentioned the broken lug nut. Now if you want to retain a customer. Honestly and trustworthiness retains customers. A honest mechanic will never be out of work.

He’s a member of my church, and I immediately felt I could trust him—not just because of that connection, but because of how honest, professional, and knowledgeable he is. I brought in my 2017 Honda Pilot because the AC wasn’t working, and thanks to him, it’s now blowing cold air again—just in time for summer! Over the years, I’ve taken my car to different mechanics, and most recently to the dealership—which was not only expensive but also left me unsure if I was getting honest service. I’ve always been searching for a mechanic I could truly trust, and I’m so grateful to have finally found one. Luigi explained everything clearly, didn’t try to upsell me, and made me feel confident that my car was in good hands. Had to vans worked on by these guys they went above and beyond for me. Work on my first van for 6 hours checking everything for $60, they got me back on the road for work with my 2014 Ford E350 the next time & was willing to come look at another van for me all at the last minute. Great service.. They make you feel right at home…

Hello, I don't want to criticize them, but I don't like that job. They had my car for about a month and a half due to an electronic fault and they didn't find the problem. What they did was damage my car even more and they don't take responsibility. I got so angry. I don't know why they would do something they don't know. I don't recommend that place. If you don't want to see your car, let alone my car, they screwed it up. Bad mechanics, they don't know.

Absolutely amazing guys and super quick! They don’t overcharge and they work with you to get you everything you need at an affordable price. They were able to get my car towed to their shop, order the part i needed and fix the car all within the same day for under 600$. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Having recently acquired a new 22’ BMW m340i (and now i’m broke) I was very cautious in choosing the right mechanic. I bought a AWE Suite Track Exhaust that I needed to swap out for the stock exhaust. Upon arriving, Luigi was super friendly and attentive, examined my car, and then quoted me a super SUPER fair price. The job was done perfectly (Exhaust fit on right, and my old exhaust was removed carefully in case I ever wanted to swap it back in) and done fast, but with care and detail! Luigi and his team are proper mechanics, experts, and professional. They do everything here and are super knowledgeable. You can trust these guys with your car, and with whatever problem/issue/service you guys need. Thank you Luigi and team! I’ll definitely be back for all my car needs. Within this year alone he has rebuilt the motor for my 07 yukon and redid my entire suspension. I travel from halfway out the island to bring my vehicles to him! I don’t usually take time out of my day to write reviews because I’m super busy but my experience with High Grade Auto was amazing. I got my BC coilovers installed on my Ford Focus st by these guys and let my tell you the customer service is top notch. They adjusted the height and ride quality to the way I wanted it to be. From start to finish they were very professional and honest. The people there are very experienced and I will be going back to get more work done.

This was my first time at this repair shop. Replaced front and rear brakes on my BMW, as well as, my rear shocks. Great mechanics and excellent workmanship. GO HERE! I was looking for shops to get my new exhaust system installed and I am so glad and relieved that I went here. Saying that the guys working at High Grade Auto are great is an understatement. They are as transparent as can be with pricing. They let you know everything that is happening to your car so you won't have to worry. Just the level of honesty and professionalism is what keeps them outperforming any other auto shop out there.

After years of receiving terrible, indifferent, over priced services from car repair shops in this neighborhood, I’m especially grateful. I found high grade auto online and am blown away by the excellent customer service and mechanical work that the owner and his team provided. Their 5 star yelp reviews are well deserved! Frank not only quickly ascertained ied why my “check engine” light was on (something my former mechanic could not figure out after 3 visits) he also informed me about diagnosis, cost and completion time. Prices were 40% below the dealership which is an answered prayer for me. HGAR will continue to be my only option for every automobile I will ever have. They have turned a complete nightmare into a routine service. I was able to sit comfortably in their waiting room and help myself to a coffee. Friendly and honest staff, fast service, great prices, exceptionally work. They won’t let you down!!

Thanks to 5 star online reviews, I found Frank and his crew (and his adorable kids). Very professional, very friendly, very fair prices, drop off and pick up too. Frank gave me estimates in a few minutes and being fairly priced, I went for it on the spot. They found oak nuts stored away in the air filter compartment! They cleaned that up and we did a big tune up and other minor items. All in all I am so relieved and happy to find a trusted mechanic shop for my Toyota (having moved and leaving my old trusted mechanic - Ray in High Falls NY). Thanks Frank and Luigi!! See you in 6 months for the breaks : )

Wow what can i say. what a great experience. Frank and his team at high grade auto repair are great, kind, and down to earth people. My car was misfiring and i took it here to get it repaired, not only did they tell me what the problem was they also explained it to me in great detail and in a manner i can understand. Frank is a real nice guy he runs the shop and kept me company as i waited while his guys fixed my car. They fixed my car in a real reasonable time and the price i paid was reasonable. I recommend frank and his team at high grade auto repair. Left feeling like they work more for the people and not for the money.
