It's never fun when you have to take your car in to get serviced. But I don't worry when I take it to Barb at Excel. I know that only the repairs that are necessary will be done. She communicates with me to let me know what's going on. And I've been very satisfied with Excel. I highly recommend them.
While I was driving home tonight, I saw one of their trucks driving erratically and over driving his tires.It was stealing and everything else.I moved over in the left lane to stay as far away from the guy as possible.He got behind me and started tailgating me.And when I didn't speed up, he slowed down, went around the three lanes of traffic and then tried to hit me.And slammed on his brakes, after he missed sideswiping me, and then I came to an almost dead stop in five ninety northbound between broncroft and empire boulevard.I had to call the state police.And everything it was absolutely horrible
My car was towed to their lot due to my transmission going. Me and my kids were living out of that car at the time, they did not give me any information as to where my car was even located so it took me about a month to get that information from the Rochester police department. The women I spoke with at excel was so nasty and rude to me all because I wasn’t trying to pay to get the car back . I wasn’t just trying to retrieve my kids birth certificates from the car and she told me I had to pay $453 just to retrieve my belongings out of the vehicle. The only thing she allowed me to retrieve was the plate off my car. This company will never receive business from anyone I know as long as I can help it. It was absolutely disgusting how she spoke to me and completely disregarded my need for my children’s legal documents. Not to mention we are not even from nys and I expressed this to her she did not care. I wasn’t asking for the vehicle itself but for my legal documents that I use to identify me and my children. Something I spent about a month trying to retrieve so that I can get shelter for us and this women told me I could not get my belongings without paying first . Very disappointed in my interaction with this company.
Needed a tow for my car, these guys arrived super fast and the truck driver was super nice, waited and talked with us while I worked with my car companies roadside assistance to get the destination changed. 10/10, first guys I'm calling next time I need a tow

They quickly dispatched a truck, and CJ did a fantastic job towing my Charger and dropping me off at work. I truly appreciate their prompt and professional service.
Recently I had a flat tire while doing a photo project. It was approximately 5:00 0'clock. I called Trip AAA and they dispatched Excel.
Barely half-hour later an Excel wrecker showed up. From the time I called them, to how quickly the operator changed my tire, put everything back in its place was phenomenal. The operators name was Mark.
5 stars all the way for Excel.
Driving down the road and timing belt went caput. Got onto a ramp and called my buddy to come get me. Got back to my place of employment and started calling tow company's I found on Google near me. After being told can't do it by a couple other places, do to it being to far where I wanted the car taken to (my home) 28 miles away. I reached excel service and towing. They were right on it within 25 minutes. Actually called back to let me know the driver would be there sooner. Headed back and he was already there 15 minutes later. Gave him my key and the car is in my driveway an less than a hour later. Good service all around from the dispatch to the drop off. If I need a tow again this is who I call. Thank you for your curtesy, timeliness, professionalism, and reasonable price.
They towed my truck to Wayne county from Monroe with professionalism and safety. Joseph was gonna clock out but he helped me out he's awesome for that thank you
This tow company took my son's car and did not let a number to get the car back. I had to report it stolen , afterward, a tow company number was given to us. However, the bill went up to 400+ dollars, and this company has no empathy whatsoever!!. We ended up losing our property . It's so sad ,for my son is homeless.....
We had no business with them, but one of the drivers was in a hurry to turn around and damaged our property. The owner said they come back and fix it. He obviously lied about that now that a year has passed.
I can't say enough good things about Excel. I had a bunch of repairs done to my car and they were amazing throughout the process. There were a couple unavoidable hiccups but they resolved them quickly and put in 100% right to the end. I dealt with Barb the entire time and she was amazing. She is very respectful, professional and knowledgeable. It's hard to find an honest garage these days but I would definitely take my car there again and recommend them to anyone I know.
My truck brakes went out and I was in a very bad location and I had CJ come out from Excel and he was very professional very friendly did an amazing job and drove me to the shop that I deal with to have my vehicle fixed. At the time I didn't know they did repairs I may have taken it over there instead. Next time. :)
I trust Barb and her team to resolve all my vehicle issues. Today was an inspection and safety check. My truck runs great and is ready for my trip. 110,000 miles and runs like it’s new. Wouldn’t take me vehicle anywhere else. Thanks Barb
They responded to my AAA call for a blown tire just after sunset. I had been trying to get it off myself and failing. The first driver couldn't get the tire off, so his supervisor drove over and helped him. Both drivers were professional and competent. These guys helped me out of a jam and I am very impressed with their company.
I cannot say enough good about excel auto! They treat you with the upmost respect and professionalism. Barb at the front desk always explains everything thoroughly. I never feel like I am being talked down to like I do at other garages.
Our truck was stolen off a public rode, hidden in the back of a storage lot so we wouldn’t know where it was so they could charge us fees daily. On top of the $150 charge for dragging it across asphalt 50 yards. If you want your money stolen and vehicle taken without a clue of where it is then feel free to call these guys they will serve you best.
The driver was very rude, refused to use the wheel chock on my harley. Instead he pulled it by the rim and didn't secure it properly. We followed the truck as he said he needed assistance unloading at the destination. He pulled over and refused to continue until we went in front of him. At the destination, he was very intimidating and told me he is allowed to take my bike and leave. I took videos of this interaction and called triple a. They advised me that he has no authority to leave with my bike. He slammed his truck door and yelled "you see this? I work for excel not triple a!" I don't feel this was excel, it was just the driver.
The tow truck operator who I later found out is the owner was very rude when I asked him to use tow dollies on the rear wheels of my truck instead of towing it in neutral. He tried to charge me extra and instead of putting the dollies on he rather argue and try to price gouge. he even gave me a hard time when I asked him to drop it off in my drive calming he didn't have enough experience to back up his truck. I paid $351 for a 8 mile tow
Customer service very rude. One of the employees or maybe owner i am not sure wouldnt even listen to me when I wanted to ask for help. We picked up a vehicle to transport and the key was missing, i called to ask if they can look for it or maybe the guy who handed the vehicle accidentaly put it in his pocket, but they called me back yelling at me and not even allowing to say a word. Instead of politely offering help and saying something like " we will check with the guy and look around" he just yelled and hung up.
That is unacceptable
We've been bringing our cars to Excel for service for nearly 20 years. In over 15 years of working in corporate America, I have rarely found a manager as straight-forward, honest, and effective as Barb, or a team as precise and efficient as the technicians at Excel. Highly recommended.
Mark I believe his name is, came and helped me unlock my car after leaving my keys inside... he got in so fast it was literally unbelievable!!! He was so sweet and made sure I didn’t need help with anything else before just taking off! I recommend this company 100%
When my vehicle died, Excel was recommended by my usual vehicle repair shop (to whom the vehicle was towed, and for whom Excel apparently does "all our towing"). The tow truck showed up exactly when I was told it would, and the operator was courteous, personable and efficient. I would recommend them without hesitation.
Called at 10:30am was told it would be an hour and a half. 2pm no tow truck. Called back to see what was going on and was told I wasn’t scheduled for a pick up and they weren’t doing any cash calls because of something going on. Would have been nice to get a call to tell me they weren’t coming so I wouldn’t have been waiting for 3 1/2 hours for nothing.
So this was the SECOND time I've had Excel help me out. Last time my motorcycle key broke in my ignition and they got my bike safely towed back to me apartment. This time my friend got her keys locked into her car. Mike was here this time to help as well and sure enough, within minutes he got the jeep open and keys out. I cant thank them enough and if you're lucky enough to get Mike, your in great hands.
Let me try and explain my first and only experience with this place. I need a tow after having a flat tire on my way to work. I call this place and I'm told there extremely busy and it would be at least 3 hours before someone can come. I was very understanding that there busy and didn't mind waiting but I would like a call when the driver was on his way, ok cool. So 3 and a half hours later I call back just to make sure I wasn't forgotten about. When I get in contact with the driver I'm told that I was going to have to call the 11 o'clock guy and even then they might not be able to get to me until tomorrow morning. I truly don't understand how a 3 hour wait turned into tomorrow morning. @ this point I feel like I completely waisted my time waitng. If they couldn't do it today they could of just been honest about that from the start, it may have resulted in me still calling this place first when I need a tow considering how close they are from my home. However this first experience was the worst experience. All in all 1 call later I got a nother tow in less then 45 min and it was only $80 :) so thanks for waisting my time and saving me money
I wish I could give this place no star. Customer service was very rude over the phone and they took 2 hours to NOT COME after clearly stating they’d come in 90 minutes. When I called back they said they never gave me that time frame. & wanted to argue but I took the high road . I mean come on! I have 2 witnesses who also heard 90 minutes. Suddenly you said you’d call when a tow was available . What a jerk! I will NEVER utilize or recommend this place to anyone.! East ave car shop on the other hand is very fast and efficient
Best service ever. Snowy morning, off the road. I called and was helped within 20 minutes. I do not remember the drivers name, but he was the nicest and most helpful person ever. After I paid he even told me to look out for signs of damage so it would not ruin my tires or alignment. If I ever need service again, these are the ones I'm calling hands down.
I've been going to Excel for years. They have always been fair, honest and very good at what they do. They have never performed unnecessary work. If they find something else when working on my car, they call and discuss it with me. I have never had any complaints about their work. If I needed a car towed, these are the people I've called. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my car needs. Are they the cheapest? Probabaly not, but working on cars is expensive and I want someone to give my monies worth. I have always gotten it here.

I called another tow company at 8am, they never came. I called this company and they informed me that it will be about an hour before they can get to me. I informed that was fine since i had been waiting on someone else for four hours (it was now 12pm) this company came 30 minutes after i called them and got the car up and out. When i got to my mechanics shop they pulled up no later than 5 minutes after me. Great service great experience
