I have been going to Skinner's service garage for about 2 and 1/2 years now. And I've always gotten excellent service and the staff are very courteous and will answer any questions you have and make good decisions if you can't make. Their workmanship is good and they will tell you exactly what needs to be done after they have inspected your vehicle for the issues you were bringing it there for and give you options on what you want to do. Another thing I like is the fact that you can bring your own parts and they will install them for you. The waiting room is just like sitting in your own living room which is very good and relaxing. I highly recommend Skinner's to anyone that's looking for quality service .
Decided to have my car towed to this location after my engine stalled about 75 miles from home. After doing some preliminary checks and replaced some oil, they recommended an engine replacement. Because my car has less than 100k in miles, she recommended I call Kia about my car troubles, even went so far as to provide me with Kia's Customer Service number. So glad she did because there is a recall that may resolve my problems, potentially saving me thousands of dollars. Would absolutely recommend, and thank you again!

It is also nice to be informed of upcoming inspections and how
your vehicle is doing as far as wear & tear on your brakes, tires
& other maintenance issues. It is nice to have a place to go where you can have your vehicle fixed and you know they are
trustworthy and reliable.
Finally found a service garage that I can trust in this area. The communication is great, they are so easy to talk to, and they have the most reasonable service rates in the area. Absolutely love Skinners! They treat you like a friend rather than just another customer. They don't play games or rip you off like the other big garages do. For the first time ever I actually left paying for an inspection. No matter where I went before I would be told I needed parts replaced that didn't need replacing and leave there paying $409-700s later. No more! Skinners is my go to place from now on.
I went in to get an inspection, tirods on both driver and passenger side, lower ball joint on passenger side and the strut on the driver side needed to be replaced. They did all of that plus the alignment in about 6 hours. The cost for all of that wasn't bad compared to what another garage would have charged me. They were pretty spot on with the quote as well. The ladies that answer the phone everytime I called to check in were so friendly too. I've had other garages get annoyed with me if I called to check in on my car which always seemed off to me. But the people at skinners are definitely a whole different experience. They made me feel comfortable and kept me informed, they didn't try to add extra things in just to get more money. I've recommended them to multiple people since the first time I've gone to them.
Definitely the most friendly and cost-effective shop in the area. This is my third time back to the shop and i think they may have acquired a life long customer!!
Excellent service from a trustworthy, family owned automotive repair facility! You don’t really find any place like this anywhere anymore! They do excellent work on all types of cars and brands of cars, trucks, campers, and hot rods too, and they back all their work 100%! The employees are top notch! My little secret place for y’all.

The thought of buying a "new" vehicle was daunting and we were not looking forward to a hassle, but my father recommended Skinner, so we thought we'd check it out. Not only did we find the vehicle we were looking for, but the staff was so helpful and not one person tried to pressure us into anything. They genuinely wanted to help is get what we needed. They made the process so easy, and they took care of EVERYTHING! We just picked it up! They even helped us out with some "extras" after the sale! Definitely add this place to your car shopping list!

If I could give zero stars I would. Brought vehicle in for a vehicle check specifically around the front right passenger axle and major oil leak from the engine, so that I could schedule the repairs accordingly also to install a customer supplied part with a stripped bolt. I was informed that it would take about an hour to complete. After not receiving any call to pick up my car, I called and was told, “ the mechanic is having fun with it.” I replied, “if it is too much work or if the mechanic cannot do it then disregard the request. This process took more than 3 hours total. The follow days included massive oil leaks (worse than before) and my engine would stall. I inspected the engine bay and cleaned the engine myself from all oil and EVEN A SCREWDRIVER under the engine guard. Unfortunately within one drive the oil was back. It had been spewing out of the sensor that they had attempted to replace and multiple other locations. They failed to inform me that my valve cover had been cracked, multiple bolts holding parts that require oil to be flowing were finger tight. This “service station” has only cause d more damage and loss of time due to their inability to admit they cannot handle a job. These mechanics obviously are incompetent on making decisions regarding my vehicles repairs and now i am responsible for it. This could've been avoided simply by notifying me you didn’t feel comfortable performing the repairs.
I was about two and a half hours from home when my car broke down on the freeway. I was able to inch my way to the nearest rest stop and had to call a tow. No one was willing to come get my car, myself and my boyfriend in the current blizzard. Skinner sales and service were the only ones who were willing. They brought us to the nearest hotel, and told us they would pick us up in the morning if we wanted to have my car taken to their shop. So in the morning we called and no later than 15 minutes they showed up to take us to the shop, along with the car of course. They were super quick to tell us what was wrong and how long it would take. They had it done by the next morning which was fine with me. They even brought us back to the hotel (free of charge) and the kind owner told us all about Herkimer and the history of it, quite the interesting little village. They told us if we needed anything to give them a call. The next morning he picked us up again and my car was done. Super easy and super quick. The car is currently running great! Actually better than before. The family who owns the business are incredibly nice, kind and just good people. If i lived closer this would become my go-to shop for everything. I couldn’t be more thankful to have been taken care of by this business. There needs to be more trustworthy and caring people like these owners/employees in the world. Not to mention, even the dog was friendly. Highly recommended!
Coming home from the Patriots game, our van broke down on I90 east. AAA dispatched Skinner to come get us. The driver was very helpful and phoned ahead to see if they could do the job today (it was already after 4pm.). Van fixed, sat in comfortable waiting area with complimentary coffee. The owner came over to us and chatted for 15 minutes about being a Patriots fan too. Genuinely kind people who bailed us out when we needed help. Very reasonable price too. Honest and quick. Stopped in after my check engine light came on during a cross country road trip. The mechanic performed a scan, tested the issue from the scan, and determined the light was accidentally tripped (likely from a hill). He turned the light off and didn't charge me for any of his time - even though he tested the issue for about 30 minutes. I've since driven 1,100 miles with no issue.
