Was working nearby and had a load of trash in my pickup. Got off at 230, saw they close at 3 so I hurried there. Got there at 245, and someone was locking the gate when I pulled up. Asked why they were closing before 3 and he said they close the gates so the workers can leave by 3... I told him I would be quick just needed to dump out the back of my pickup and he didnt care. They clearly care about going home more than serving the community. I'll take my business elsewhere.
In and out to dispose of recycle, household rubbish, as well as used oil, coolant, and oil filters. Teresa is absolutely awesome! She greets you warmly with a big smile as opposed to a "Why are you here?" demeanor. She is always pleasant, friendly, and willing and happy to help!
I did not realize what a treasure we have right in Broome County like seriously 10 miles not even 10 Mi away or 10 minutes away from me I live in Johnson City the place is a diamond in the rough let me tell you they have so much to offer and it's the place to go when you want to get rid of stuff but it is so big I got a little lost so yep not only can you bring your TVs and electronics if you don't scrap them yourself and do what you got to do you can take them there you can also take your garbage their recycle there basically you can there's a lot I got a compost bin today also found out that I can get free compost in it's available for everybody just bring something to put it in and it's yours
I actually enjoy making my routine run up there every week. A short but scenic drive from upper front st and the Gal that works the weigh station and payments is a sweetheart. Hauling a weeks worth of refuse is decent exercise considering my literal lack in physical activity of any sort..... over all something I look forward to having to do ......
Where do I find information on pickup schedule? I haven’t gotten one delivered in the last few years and I don’t know the holiday schedule. They didn’t pick up my garbage today…
What more could you want in a county landfill? Recycling is easily accessible and generally clean, scale house is clearly marked and well placed, employees are professional and efficient, and although prices keep increasing, it’s still a very economical way to get rid of trash, especially from larger projects. Also love the idea behind the reuse center, just wish it got a lot more use.
Decided to take some larger items and about 15 gallons of motor oil here for waste. Pulled it and got rid of our ♻️ recycling with no issues. Pulled up got weighed and off we went. Went to dump oil and found out it's only 5 gallons per day per person. So we disposed what we could and off we went. Lines were short, but wish it was posted someplace on the oil limitations.
Today the lady on the scale was very rude.
I guess she had a bad day.
Maybe next time I won't see her.
We are the customers and just do our business.We paying money for this service and she get paycheck because of that.

I made arrangements to get 12 maximum tall blue recycle bins for my East Side area. My SUV probably doesnt fit more! Lol
I put out a Blue Bin Recycle post on 'NextDoor.com' for ONLY those that can't drive, are disabled, or work during Landfill hours. I did get names and addresses and residents were So thrilled with those bins! You would think I was dropping off Lottery money! Seriously!

The hours could be better but the price and easy of use is great. I'm happy that my tax dollars go towards this. The fees are cheap 45/ton and the workers are always helpful and pleasant.
Took the family here for dinner. Impressed ! All you can eat is a big plus for me, but to go through all that trash to find your dinner, can't be beat. All in all I would go again, only i wouldnt wear as nice as clothes as we did. Two Thumbs up to the chefs !
I've got to say it's so confusing when you pull up on the scale first of all you can't hear the person that's inside you can't really see them cuz it's tinted glass , and they're certainly not friendly..... When I was told to go to container 3 it was one of the most confusing thing I've ever heard because nobody tells you where they are nobody tells you if there's one container or if there's five containers it's certainly one of the most confusing things that's ever happened going to this landfill they certainly should make it more easier for people who bring their garbage in and if they were a little bit friendlier that would make the experience so much better....
Doesn't answer the phone and doesn't accept banks cards as payment. Had paint cans to dump and a small window of opportunity to do it as I live out of town these days. Still paying taxes here though.Given a pamphlet and told come back for the free day tomorrow. Leaving today though. Thanks!
This is only for the experience that happened today in regards to the Earth Machine Composters that were for sale there at $45.00 I had thought it to be a great deal for what it was. I researched it and very well knew all that it was capable of doing for the price that it was being sold. I could get the very same model over $25.00 more elsewhere. But the problem was not the product at all. I would have been happy to buy it for the price and the things that came with it.
We went up there to see the item asking for it as before we could complete the sentence the female at the window said aloud..."It's a piece of junk!" (No one asked for her opinion.) Not really even wanting us to make this choice for ourselves if we wanted it. She did finally let us in there to see the Earth Machine Composter. But because she was giving me hard time I did not get it. I feel it would have done what I needed until I was able to do better.
It is not good to give customers a hard time like that. She even began to tell us how to go looking for places to get barrels to make our own with plastic bags and whatever. It would cost me more to do that than to just buy what I wanted. Her mouth kept going until we left.
BAD customer service. She didn't know.."The customer is always right."
