Incredible service and really straight shooting crew.
We broke down almost two hours south of Artesia and Michael towed us out late in the evening. Great dude. We were on a road trip from CA to FL and needed quick service and these guys put everything aside to get my truck roadworthy again in short time. Highly recommend if you’re in a tight spot and are looking for somewhere to take care of you in an unfamiliar place.
I have had a nightmare experience with a rental car that had mechanical issues and needing to get it replaced and towed from my remote location. It was a lot of back-and-forth between the rental company and several different tow truck companies. Ramiro at Southwest body and towing was on point. I had conflicting information that I was sending him and updating him with based on the info that I was given. He continued to go with the flow every step of the way. He delivered the car. Everything looked good and he was so friendly and kind which was so refreshing given how frustrating the whole situation was. Thank you for your kindness and patience!
They charged me a callout fee for a towing that I called for at 10:30 on a Monday morning. They waited around to be able to charge me this. I will never use them again.
Don’t use this people to help with towing your vehicle they stole my car that I was willing to use as collateral but they never did the job and never answered the phone they took the car without having me sign any release papers and never did the job that was part of the agreement worst part is they called me to come “sign” paper work as they were hooking up my car and then when I got to the office no one was there I called they said come sign in the morning but again no answers and no one at the office when I got back from the office my car was already gone if you value your vehicle don’t use this towing company.
If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Set up a tow at 11am. Waited and nothing. Half an hour after the appointed time, they called and beefed to postpone the tow for 4 more hours. 4 hours come and go. Nothing. No call. Nothing. Wouldn’t answer the phones either. After hours of calling and trying to track them down, I finally had to get a manager involved. My tow didn’t take place until after the auto body shop was already closed past 6p. What a joke. Over 7 hours of waiting for a tow truck to show up and tow my car is pathetic. I wouldn’t give this company the time of day in the future. Don’t waste your time or money.
We were connected to this company through AAA. We asked AAA as well as this company if there was any additional charges other than what was being paid by AAA. We were told no by both. The tow truck showed up and the service guy was very nice. We asked him also if there was any additional charges, he said he didnt know and called his Boss and handed me the phone. I inquired the same question and was ensured there was no additional charges other than what AAA was paying for the tow. We released the car to them which made it to the destination without incident. The next day we received a phone call asking for $240 for uncovered portion of the tow bill. I explained we were told no additional charges and they continued to demand payment and stated the "Boss" doesn't know anything about the office. We asked for the invoice to be negotiated since we were told multiple times there was no additional cost and it was refused and the $240 was continued to be demanded. We paid the invoice in good faith.
I just want potential customers to be weary that this company was not honest when it comes to quotes and billing.
Artesia NM -Was told multiple times over the phone $250 MAX - was charged $830.13 in total. Had it towed to the shop and they brought the wrong tow truck which was unregistered I learned thx to the state cop that pulled us over. Also my Bluetooth adapter was either moved or stolen and none of them claim to know anything :/
The people I spoke with were all great - front desk, tow driver, and the car tester. But overall a pretty frustrating and disappointing experience >:(
My husband and I were traveling back to El Paso, TX from Carlsbad, NM on a Sunday evening, when out back tire blew. The tow-truck technician was kind enough to drive all the way from Artesia, NM to get us back with our car to El Paso. We appreciated his professionalism and commitment to service. We highly recommend Southwest Body in Artesia for you towing needs!
We were traveling through Artesia from Yuma, AZ and stopped at Sonic. Our car decided it was a good place to die. Battery complete dead on a Sunday night. We called AAA which referred us to Southwest Towing. Unfortunately, all tow trucks were out on service calls and were not due back for a couple of hours. This put us (70 and 75 yrs old) at Sonic after closing at 11pm. The tow truck driver called ri check on us to see if we were okay.
We decided to get a hotel for the night and were able to leave our car at Sonic. The next morning, they towed us to the local car dealer.

One of the best professional towing place around .they do heavy haul onstars and r.v. moveables....?...I don't see anybody else around southwest ("no pun intended")area doing these kinds tows ?..(⬇️Joel's⬇️ or ⬇️rubios⬇️...???....good job southwest....keep up the finest work around this area .....????.
I was stranded in my tractor trailer as an Owner Operator we don’t have a whole lot of capital starting off. This company was extremely reasonable on the wallet. Parts weren’t available but they were to make some magic happen to get me back on the road again to TX
After being stranded for over 6 hours and various tow companies not showing up, AAA finally contracted Southwest Towing out of Artesia. They contacted me immediately and their estimated time of arrival was pretty accurate. Margarito, their driver, was very professional and kept me updated throughout the process. I am disappointed with Hyundai Roadside as well as AAA, in the manner they handled my situation. But, I am very grateful and happy with Southwest Towing and Margarito, on their professionalism, promptness and overall way they handle their business.
Professional and caring service. Towed my truck to the dealer in Carlsbad and the driver was kind enough to offer me a ride back to Artesia. Friendly and timely service and a fair price. I hope to not need a tow again, but they will be my first choice should I need so. And they are contracted through AAA, so that’s an added bonus.
Never showed up. Called them after an hour of waiting to ask for ETA they said 45 minutes and nothing! Husband had to unhook truck from RV and go to Roswell to get equipment needed to change tire.
Please be aware they are thieves!!! This shop lied to me, they kept my vehicle for almost three weeks for a job that should have taken a day or two maximum a broken axle. After being stranded without a vehicle for three weeks 12 hours away from home. They charged me $300 over what they agreed with me at the beginning. They said they were keeping my vehicle if I didn't pay, they were very unprofessional and disrespectful. They took joy in stealing from me laughed in my face and insulted my race. I will never set foot in that place again, hopefully this won't happen to you guys. This is the first bad review I've ever ever written, those guys deserve to have their shop shut down for stealing from their costumers.
If your automobile gets towed by this company, you had better get to it as fast as you can. Any property you might have left in vehicle will most likely be missing, and possibly the entire vehicle. I had a car towed by them, and in less than four hrs., it was burglarized and almost stolen. They did however replace the shattered window. Their fee is outragous, but they're all that is available.
My car broke down and I am from out of town; I was only 8 miles out from Artesia when I called onstar they automatically connected me to this company I was told they would be there within 20 minutes, so an hour rolls around and no one had came. Onstar calls them and they tell onstar it'll be about 20 more minutes then another hour goes by and I finally call and get told they are at lunch the lady gets ahold of the driver who hadn't answered the calls the past two times they tried to contact him and tells me that it'll be 10 minutes. so another call comes threw from one driver telling me it'll be another 45 minutes. I decided to hitch a ride to the tow place because I was hot and tired of sitting on the side of the road. So the driver meets me there for my keys well I realize I forgot my wallet in my car so I ask if I could go get it with the driver and he refused to let me go with him to get my wallet because I believe his girlfriend was with him. (this is after I told onstar and the tow place I would need a ride if I was still on the side of the road so glad I wasn't still with my car.) so all in all I was very disappointed that the service wasn't the fastest and that the driver never answered his phone. But thankful they did finally show up. Only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the girl working the front at the company was very friendly and was trying her best to help me out. If it wasn't for her I'd only give them 1 star
I just want to say thank you for being the only company willing to rescue my son (a disabled vet) outside of Mahill on 8/6/17 when 2 other companies canceled on him and not one company from Alamogordo was willing to get him when his rental truck broke down. He waited 9 hours for someone to finally get there. Thank you again.
