Integrity and truly honesty in a mechanic is hard to find. You will find that exactly that here. I am a 100 disabled Veteran, which they didn't know at the time my truck needed service. I was quoted at a dealership for the job they were going to do for almost half the price , which was around 600 dollars. Turns out it was 36$ dollar fix. Integrity and honesty is what your getting here.
I will put my comment so that it helps someone else. It is my experience. Two months ago, my Freightliner MT 55 truck had a problem. I took it for a diagnosis because the stop engine light came on. It was simply something so simple. For a workshop that supposedly does that, they made me change an actuator at a high cost and then they told me it was the turbo. Then they started guessing what was failing. I am a mechanic and I have never done that crazy thing to my clients of making them buy parts and not repair the damage. Unfortunately, I did not have the tools. I would have fixed it myself in minutes. But because I trusted incompetent people, my cost doubled because I had to pay for a tow truck service to my house and plus the unnecessary expense they made me pay for the parts. So if you do not want to have a bad experience, look for another place, choose wisely. And if you like to work with a bad heart, karma exists.
A deer hit my car and by the grace of God I was able to still drive the car enough to get it to this repair shop. While they couldn't do the extensive repairs they were very kind and helpful to me during a highly stressful time where I was very shaken. I am so grateful.
Wonderful family business, absolutely lovely folks!! They got us back on the road in about half an hour after our engine light went off on our way from Colorado to central NM to visit family for thanksgiving. So happy they were there!
Shoddy repair shop, I had a turbo blowup outside Raton NM so I called got another turbo ordered and had D&T put it in. They charged $3400 in labor with intercooler. Once I picked my truck up, a 1/2 hour later driving, down the road, I notice a funny noise coming from under the hood, so I stopped loaded it on a trailer took it home and come to find out Donnie and his shop crew only installed 1 out 4 bolts on the turbo flange to header. In addition, v clamp came off turbo and exhaust. I called Donnie and he claims they torqued all the turbo bolts which it's impossible to get a torque wrench to fit in engine bay. He's a liar and doesn't back his work up. I had to pay dodge $5K to fix all the work he was supposed to do correctly. Do not use this shop, absolutely terrible workmanship.
I cannot say enough good things about this family owned and run business. Donny squeezed us in when our check engine light came on when we were passing through town on a road trip with two littles. He was prompt at diagnosing, getting the part, and getting us back on the road.
We are so grateful, kindness went a long way today for our little fam.
We were on our way to Colorado from New Mexico when our truck started shaking. Fortunately this place was only 20 miles up the road. Once we arrived, they noticed immediately that we needed new tires, and one nearly popped.
They gave us a great deal on new tires and had us on our way quickly.

Called because one of our fleet trucks had broken down in Raton, spoke with them and they advised that they didn’t have anyone at that time to travel to the truck at the moment, but they fit us in and repaired our truck in a timely manner to get our operator back home to Colorado.
Wow what a friendly and honest place. We were traveling to Colorado and had an mechanical issue with our truck. We searched repair shops and found D&T and I’m so glad we did. Not only did they fix our issue, everyone one there was friendly and in my opinion under charged us for the work done. Instead of looking for a way for them to make the most money on the repair, they started with the most cost effective way for us and it fixed our issue. We could have been stranded for days had we not found this amazing place. The cost was so low we actually paid them more than they asked for because we felt like we were under charged. I’m positive I’ve never said that before about an auto repair shop. Thank you D&T for being such honest, caring and amazing people.

We broke down on our way to Colorado whensday before Thanksgiving. This company helped us getting a rental car and we continued our trip till they could fix my truck great people i would recommend this place to everyone.
AMAZING! I’m from south Texas and was coming thru town for work. My 2015 Dodge Ram was making horrible sounds and I suspected a wheel bearing/CV joint issue. Brought it to a shop in south Texas 2 days prior, as I had noticed a scraping sound when I turned left, once in a while. That south TX shop told me “it looks fine” “good to go” So I left for work. No one seemed to be taking my concerns seriously. The sound increased in volume and harshness so when I wrapped up the job, it landed me in Raton NM. Praise Jesus it did because these guys and gals are lifesavers! I called several other shops in the area and either they didn’t answer or didn’t have time. I did a Google search for the closest mechanic shop and this awesome shop was closest. So I called them. The receptionist was kind, and listened to my concern. She made me aware they were very busy but she would check with the owner to see if they could just look at it, as I was concerned for my safety driving it. He said to bring it on in and they would look at it but probably wouldn’t have time to fix anything until next week. Understanding they are a busy shop I was still great full they took the time. Diagnosed...bad wheel bearing...as I suspected. These amazing people recognized my concern and knew I wouldn’t make it much further and brought it in for repair. Part was available and they were so gracious and accommodating. They even went out of their way to bring me to the hotel and picked me up so I didn’t have to wait there for the repair. Thank you thank you thank you! Highly recommend bringing any business this way. Amazing family owned company that listens and uses their heart instead of watch and pocketbook. I can’t thank them enough.
While traveling from out of state we had electrical problems with our vehicle and trailer, not only were they super fast and helpful with nice staff but they had clean restrooms and were honest. I hope I’m never in this situation again but if I were I’d use D&T again.
Side note: Google maps did us a little dirty and took us to the wrong place, it’s about another half mile down the road, so watch out for that if looking for it.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions, but I have to disagree vehemently with the review of 1star. D&T kept my car and ran multiple tests to discover it was a “mildew issue” and not a broken heater core. Some bolts were tightened, and it was suggested that I drive my car around for a while to make sure the smell did not return . Two weeks have passed and everything is great. NOT ONCE DID I EVER FEEL LIKE MR. SANDOVAL WAS GOING TO BE UNETHICAL AND COME UP WITH A BOGUS ISSUE! He was honest about everything and now has a customer for life and if I am ever asked about an excellent place for car repairs, I will send them to D&T! And speaking of honesty and being ethical, when I went to pay Mr. Sandoval, he said “no charge”! I was blown away because most garages would have a least charged for labor.
The guys at D&T Auto were so welcoming and honest and respectful. While we opted to not wait for parts over the weekend, we were able to make it on to Santa Fe! Thanks for your help and courtesy and responsiveness!
Donny is the nicest guy. He always has a smile. I am so glad to have a quality mechanic in our town. The work they do is solid and they don't try to spend your money for you. Highly recommend!
Really friendly! We were stranded in our RV all the way from MN. They helped get us back on the road to continue our trip the same day. Family atmosphere.
I did not use them. Seemed shady to me with high prices-unneeded repair suggestions. They had no clue they were talking to ASE master mechanics, not tourists they could cheat. Go to Mesa Tire instead. I used them several times and accurate qoutes+work excellent. Only suggested repairs actually needed or preventive maintenance. Avoid D&T though. Raton is full of crooked businesses. Some honest ones-but hard to find in my 4 month visit.
