We have been buying Weber grills at Harquail for years. It’s always easy. Quality product, assembly and delivery, and haulaway of old grill. Reasonable pricing and very good customer experience. Years ago, we also used them for snow removal. That was also very good, and I liked that they used a Jeep Wrangler rather than a larger truck. We are fortunate to have them in Summit.
Untrustworthy and Incompetent Auto Mechanic/Staff
Routine service including wanting to repalce the battery, noticed a new alert on my dash as I was leaving so went back and the mechanic said “he thinks it was related to the auxiliary battery”.
When I asked why they charged me $200 for testing my battery, the mechanic suddenly told me, they tested my auxiliary battery and it needed to be replaced.
When asked why no one told me and let me leave, he literally said “ I don’t know what to tell you”. I told him I was already in for $800 (see images), which included a new air filter I was never told about until I went to pay, so I had no issue spending the money.
After the negative exchange with the mechanic and feeling I have been lied to, I took my truck to someone else even though the owner offered to fix it after the fact. Essentially leaving with a new issue I did not have prior to my service.
FACT: YOU TOOK MY MONEY, NEVER TOLD ME OF THE ISSUE, YOUR MECHANIC ADMITTED HE KNEW THERE WAS A NOTIFICATION AND LET ME LEAVE WITH AN ISSUE I DID NOT COME IN WITH.
Took my car to get serviced here recently. Very easy to make an appointment, they called me when it was done. The prices are also reasonable. I will definitely come back.
I made an appointment with the Harquail’s repair shop for a state emission test. The technician told me the guy with license does not work today. Then what’s the point for the appointment. Very dishonest business.
Just saw the response from Harquail’s owner. Unfortunately, the whole point is missed. I made the appointment through the phone for Oct 12, 2024. This is not a walk-in. I drove my car to the auto shop in the morning of Oct 12, and the person in charge told me the mechanic with license did not work that day. The appointment pretty much is a joke!!!

I've been a very satisfied customer of Harquail Brothers for more than 30+ years. Starting with a grill, Mr. Harquail Sr. helped me to pick out the best and most reasonable grill for my purposes and coached me on assembling it to save money. It was the start of a great working relationship; since I have had auto work done, more grills, and got rave reviews from friends in surrounding towns for recommending they try Harquail. (Dave and Maria from Montclair are the most recent.) Most recently, my Jeep rear bumper had been damaged by someone backing into me in a car with a trailer hitch, damaging the panel over my hitch. I was told by a local dealer that the entire exhaust system would have to be replaced at more than +1K. I happened to be at Harquail soon after and mentioned it to Steve. He said he'd like to take a look at it, and resolved the problem for $200 plus the purchase of a new hitch cover from a Jeep dealer. A big thanks, and when I need auto work or grills, I'll be back! Horrible service. First I waited many months for my grill. Finally after I called multiple times they said it was in. After they installed my new grill they told me it was the wrong grill and I had to pay much more money. I haggled down the price and kept the grill. Jim the original owner wouldn’t have let this happen. I rarely used the grill the first year as it came towards the end of the season. Upon using it this year I noticed grease stains on my deck and a loose cover over wires. I fixed the cover and put a big drip pan under the grill. I never had to do this before. This did not solve the problem. I called Harquail and they sent a team for service. I was not home. When I inspected the grill there were many dried drip and burnt particles all over the area of my deck. It was a mess. For $170 I didn’t expect this. I called immediately and was told they would send someone out. This did not happen. I attempted to scrub the area but the grease stains remained. I again called and was told I would get a call back. Again no one called back. I asked for the manager or owner and spoke to another person who was not either and was told the manager would call back. Again this did not happen. After I called again they wouldn’t put me through to either the manager or owner and was told this was not there problem. Jim Harquail who I have dealt with would never have given such poor customer service. I have used Harquail for many years and will never use them again. Poor attitude and extremely poor customer service. Very disappointed
I needed a car inspection and Richie one of the mechanics took my car to the shop. Then Steve did the inspection for me without extra cost. Great service and helpful people! Would recommend Harquail for any car service. Won't disappoint!
Lou is very helpful in the Hardware store. A really nice and knowledgeable guy.
But forget the repair shop. Steve the mechanic is okay, but one of the workers BROKE THE HOSE in my car when I brought my car in for an oil change.
When I brought the car back to show them, the guy who worked on my car started to lie about it and said it was like that when I brought it in, which is not true.
So if you need a Hardware shop for your needs, go to Lou at Harquails. For car repairs , go elsewhere. Find a reputable mechanic shop !!
I had 2 flat tires early this morning. As the customer parking was already full, I parked my car in front of an apartment which is only exclusive for the renters while waiting for a spot. One of the workers came out the parking lot and I took the spot which says for “customers only”. After 5 mins or so the worker came back and was mad telling me that he was supposed to park there. I told him I have 2 flat tires and I am a customer and waiting for the store to open at 9am. However, he gave me a spiteful look. Due to my dismay, I had audi roadside assistance picked me up to bring me to another car shop.
Steve helped me in a real time of need. I was visiting the area for a brief time and was referred by my friend who lives near by the shop. He took the time out of his busy day to look at my car to make sure it was ok to drive back to Rochester, NY. I am very appreciative. I have a family emergency and he cared. There are still good people out there!
They fixed my old truck's water pump in record time as I needed the truck to go back to where I live in Virginia.

I just talked to this company on the phone. They were quickly able to advise me that the repair I was considering can't be done, and discussed an alternative that will probably fix my problem but won't make them money. I really appreciate dealing with a business that operates this way. Many thanks.
Steve practices excellent customer service, very fair and Honest (almost unheard of in mechanics). Clear explanation of Service most critical to repair with considering to customers safety and financial means. Work is completed and reliable within a very fair time period! I would not use anyone else.
Great service at a fair price. Especially for an expensive neighborhood. Steve was upfront, honest and fair throughout the whole process of getting my car fixed. He was very accommodating with car pick up after hours, finding a solution to work with my hectic work schedule.
We arrive 4:47 and the lights are out, door is locked. Guy comes around "what can I help you with?" I say I came to look at grills. He says, "we'll be back open tomorrow."

I purchased a Ducane Affinity 3100 BBQ Grill in 2012 and just recently the ignition lighter stopped working. I called Duane and they gave me the names of two businesses that service their brand in my geographical location. I did my due diligence and checked out online reviews of the referrals that Ducane gave me and decided to call Harquail Brothers, and I am very glad I did. I called them just after July 4th and they told me that they could get to my house in about a week, which I kind of expected since it is July and almost everyone who owns a BBQ is using theirs now. I happen to use mine all year round but I expected a week to ten days before someone could get out to me because this summer. I personally thought I would need new burners, grill plates, almost everything since my BBQ was a total mess. However the technician who came here was very honest and told me that everything was working perfectly, except of course the ignition switch but all that needed was a new battery. As part of the service, they cleaned the entire inside of the BBQ (which was a mess, as I hadn't cleaned it since I bought it) and it runs like new. They asked for my credit card at my initial call which the person I spoke with explained that since the BBQ is outside, I didn't need to be home and they could just come and perform the service. They did a great job, cleaned up after they left. They are very honest and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs to get their BBQ Grill serviced.
Harquail came out today to repair my Weber grill. It had been purchased in June of 2012 and this was the first major cleaning or service.
It turned out that the copper tubing gas line was kinked. The repairman did a fabulous job of putting a heavier line in and bracing it so that it could not happen again.
In the process, he completely cleaned the grill, it works like new.
The only downside is that they are popular so you might have to wait two or three weeks for them to come, but the wait is worth it because they do such a great job.
The repair cost was quite moderate, given the fantastic job they did. Better than new (gas line as it should have been from day one).
I purchased a Lynx gas grill in 2006, and the guys came out, delivered and set it up, and tested it. These guys are the pros on grills. Customer service is excellent and prompt, and they have a great selection at competitive pricing. Very knowledgable and accommodating. Would highly recommend them.
