BUYER BEWARE. Overpriced. Upsell. Sharks. I’ve been too patient with this business, so here’s just a few issues I’ve encountered with them over the past 4+ years. The Lifetime Oil Change is a money making scheme to pull you in. It takes the techs about 12 minutes to do the oil change and multi point inspection and they make you wait 1-2+ hours even with an appointment. They try to sell you something that costs at least $200 every single time you go in. They sold me a $3500 extended warranty when I bought a brand new 2021 Honda Passport from them. I bring it in at 90k miles with starter and transmission problems. Starter issue is a recall I’ve had done before and needed again. They tell me I need a new transmission and quote me over $11k. I tell them I have an extended warranty. Oops! They quote the extended warranty company a lower number. Still try to sell me a new trans for $5000 difference. I get my car back after a month! The vehicle is driving worse than before with new issues. No coolant in my reserve tank after driving only 600 miles after picking it up. Major problems with suspension and steering. I bring it back in and my motor mount was off! They didn’t even mention that before telling me the coolant reserve tank wasn’t empty (bc I filled it when I realized it was empty before driving over 20 miles to the dealership) and I need new front brakes, over $800, when I just had them done at 77k miles. I say what about the issues with my steering, “oh the motor mount was off.” I just picked up the vehicle after they apparently fixed it and the steering is still messed up, vehicle still vibrates while maintaining speed. $50,000 down the drain. Bought & financed the vehicle with 10 miles on it. The collision mitigation system also destroyed my rotors before 20k miles and they refused to repair bc the rotors were not under warranty even though it was the malfunctioning CMS. I turn it off every time I drive now. As well as the auto start. The transmissions in these vehicles are unreliable! The vehicle is not built to last. Their salesmen, finance guys, cars, techs, and service team are not your friends and they will drain your bank account and waste your time all for some commission. I’m severely disappointed as I kept giving them chances. They also have an arbitration agreement slid into the sales contract which is a huge red flag I missed. Shame. Report to Consumer Affairs!

I went in and asked them to check the computer/chip on my car because all of the lights on my dash come on and stay on every time I turn the car on. My regular mechanic suggested this to me and was certain it was a computer issue since the car is driving fine and nothing is actually wrong aside from the lights. The service department immediately tried to tell me I had something wrong with my front right tire, and then tried to tell me my engine was failing and gave me an insanely inflated estimate of over $8k. When I called my regular mechanic, he said this was near impossible and wasn’t even sure how they came to that conclusion. When I relayed this information to the service department, all they did was tell me to look at the diagnostics. They’re really just trying to rob people blind. In the year 2026 I was hoping we’d get over the whole “trying to rip off young women because they’re stupid” thing. I’m appalled by my experience and would not recommend them even under dire circumstances.

Let’s go back in time a bit bought a new car paid for tire rotations four times needed 4 new tires by 35k so now I mark my tires left today and guess what??? marked tires NOT touched but yet they took my money. Now the question is, this is the service I could see they’re not doing what about all the other things I can’t see? Oil charges? Recalls? Etc are they doing those?????

I went on Saturday 11.22.25 for oil change, they tried to push on me all the fluid change, brake job for $ 800, cabin air filter for $116 and engine filter for $125. Transmission fluid changed at their branch 5 months ago at 55k mile (my car now is at 64k mile), but still recommended me to change it for around $750. I replaced the radiator water myself Saturday 11.15.25 and still recommend it to be replaced, same as for the spark plugs (the manual says it is to be replaced at 90 - 100k mile). They want you to replace everything even without testing, just for the sake of making money. Total recommended invoice is THREE THOUSAND DOLLAR. Those people are worst than any lube shop in a shady sketchy place. Be careful, and count your fingers after shaking hand with the.

What happened to this dealership?! My husband and I have bought many cars from this dealership but all of a sudden, service is HORRIBLE. They say they give you lifetime oil changes but when you need one, it seems you need to wait a lifetime. They make you jump through hoops just to get this so-called free oil change. When you do wait for weeks to get an appointment, they still make you wait a couple of hours. For that express service they make you wait THREE hours - even if you go there very early. There just doesn’t seem to be any care at all for regular customers. Once my current lease is done, I do not think I will go back to this dealership anymore. Am actually now looking at other brands - which is really a huge deal for me because I have always had a Honda. This dealership though has soured me on Honda.

These treat you well until you buy the car. They then start robbing you in the service, saying you said things you didn't say. They bring up prices that you have not signed and that you have not seen. They say oil filter is free, but they charge $200 for two $20 filters. You object. They will download a little more. I regretted buying it completely in him. The officer here is the amount you will pay me at the next service. Although he says one hundred and seventy-nine dollars, he can first issue a payment of about five hundred and then reduce it to four hundred when I object.

I purchased a 2019 crv , and was given free oil change for life. About six weeks ago, around July I took my car for an oil change. My son drove the car for 2,000 miles and did not noticed the it was leaking oil from the oil pan. Apparently when they did the oil change they tighten the screw too much and the car started leaking. I reported this to them and they wanted me to take the car back. I got a separate mechanic and they refuse to accept responsibility.i shows the pictures of the crack and they still refused to pay for the service ( i took the car to my own mechanic) I got no were with the. This repair service for this dealership is lousy. I will never take my car there again I rather pay for an oil change them have this people work on my car. Because of them I had to paid $890. Yes they did tell me to bring the car back but I refuse because from Long Island ny (where the car was) is 2.5 hour drive. I was not going to drive my car leaking oil, and for them to tell me when I get there that it was not their fault. Service is very bad.

Becareful! Do your research before buying anything or getting your car serviced here! They over charge you for everything. I no longer get my car serviced here because of how expensive its gotten but I sometimes do need parts. This time I needed a sensor that i had no idea what it was actually called, a mechanic named Rick "helped" me out. After i made the mistake of trusting him/ over paying i find out he charged me double what im supposed to pay. Clearly taking advantage of the fact that i didnt know what the part was actually called just so he can make his commission. The actual prices of the parts are on the website.. when I confronted him about what he did, he brushed me off, smirked and walked off without an explanation or an apology.

Terrible customer service. My husband went to this location and was completely ignored, they took other customers, even the ones coming after him. He wasn’t addressed at all, not even a hi. The sign said “See somebody before you sit” which is what he did but he was ignored. I do not recommend this place, terrible customer service. They beat themselves out of a big purchase, he was there to inquire about a tire lock and possibly to buy a family vehicle. Terrible customer service.

I scheduled an appointment with them for only a routine oil change... I waited 2 hours without Anyone checking in with me about my service. Is it because of my lifetime oil change is "free" (not really, because they upsell their cars for profit so the price is hidden in the sale price) and they don't think they make any profit from it? 🤔 Don't offer this perk to new car buyers if you are going to disrespect their time. I emailed them immediately since I know they Love to send followup surveys about their service and mentioned how bad this particular visit was. They mentioned that there was an issue that caused a backup of their services. If that is the case, then wouldn't you think that the customer deserves to know as soon as soon as you find out about any delay so they can decide whether they should stay or reschedule the service to another time/day?? If a customer schedules their appointment, it means they're not just casually stopping in to get their car serviced and are highly likely to be tight on time. An oil change should Never take more than 15 minutes, but somehow they manage to make stretch the work over an entire hour each time I bring my car for the service (5+ years). I would have stopped coming back if it wasn't for the free oil change "perk" with my new car from Honda 23 and my rim/tire insurance requires me to go either here or Ramsey (further away from where I live). If you need Anything else, you might as well call out of work, because fast service does not exist here. From my experience, only the cashiers (which have only been young girls from what I've experienced) are somewhat customer oriented, but they don't associate themselves with the service center at all, which explains a lot. The service center is so bad that I would not consider buying a new or used car from Honda 23 again. UPDATE: I came back here for another oil change, absolutely nothing changed! 2+ hours for a simple oil change... They praise and defend their bad workers. Do Better, Honda! 0/5 stars!

The BEST Honda service shop! Had to replace a spare tire kit, and get the spare inflated and kit installed. They are true to their word (appointment time and pricing) and provide excellent, friendly & professional service.

The service team at Route 23 Honda went above and beyond in taking care of me and my 2016 Accord. My car was being serviced for a warranty issue with one of my headlights when the lift failed and it had to stay overnight at the dealership. I was kept informed throughout the entire process and did not have to call for updates about the situation. Once I got my car back, not only was the issue taken care of, the tech also fixed the fender around the headlight that was very bent. I also received a complimentary oil change for the inconvenience of not having my car and being able to obtain a loaner. I definitely will recommend this dealership to all of my family members and friends who own Hondas

Visited 5 different Honda dealers. First 4 dealerships the sales reps were just a bunch of fony liars con artists. Looking for a Honda ask for sales rep JOE. He will answer all your questions with legit answers while treating you with respect and kindness. Gave Rt 23 Honda 4 stars only because the first sales rep i spoke to didn't even introduce himself. I requested another sales rep immediately. Happen to get the best sales rep ever. Joe.

10/22/24 - I took my new Honda CRV to Route 23 Honda for it's first service. Everyone I encountered was very professional and pleasant to deal with. In particular, Dana patiently explained the process to me and answered several questions that I had about the car service needs - both that day and for future things. I was pleasantly surprised to find out about the multi-point check done with each service and that I even got a free car wash! Very happy that I chose Route 23 Honda as my dealer.

Route 23 Honda was truly phenomenal! They called me back the day after I purchased a used Audi Q3 and corrected issues that I didn’t realize were a problem to begin with at purchase. The entire staff at this location, from management, to sales and service are top notch.

I received a recall/warranty extension letter from Honda and called this dealership service center to schedule an appointment. But the lady mentioned there is no warranty extension or recall under my vin#. Next I mentioned I received a letter and she mentioned please disregard the letter received. Then I called Honda and they confirmed my extension of warranty/ recall in their system and he mentioned they will note a complaint down of this issue if misguiding me trying to cheat me of my money. The guy said they will work internally with the dealership but they didn’t specify what will happen. This place is a scam and the workers are liars at this dealership. I only gave one star because because that’s the lowest I can give. They deserve a zero star. Huge liars, cheaters and scammers.

Streamlined service department. Poppy did a great job communicating what service my car needed and getting me in and out while I waited. The interior of my car remained clean (no dirty hand marks on my steering wheel) and they gave me a quick car wash at the end of the service visit. Overall good experience.

I he'd a computer error (Keyless system problem) i went to Tham thay Overcharged me. They told me at first that I cut into the wires' end the warranty won't pay for it. I show them That I didn't touch any Wiring of the car and they tried to blame it on my Dash cam and after thay tried to blame it on my high beams thay Charge me $990 for labor and changed high beams My car was there 2 days and thay fixed it and 2 weeks later that Computer error came back (Keyless system problem)

Very friendly staff But the auto repair pricing is sky high very very expensive It's a shame because you spend all this money. Purchasing the car from their dealer. And then if you need a repair it's going to be sky high. Your better off going to another mechanic and pay half of what they're gonna charge you. Sorry, but I'm just scene honest. I bought my 2008 Ridgeline at RT 23 Honda and except for a flat tire once near my job its the only place that has ever serviced my truck. It is now 15 years old 300K miles still runs great. Poppy and the team have always been great to deal with and any Honda I own in the future will be serviced there

Over an hour for a scheduled oil change, what's the sense of making an appointment? Plus, I got charged for a FREE tire rotation, and they will not refund me my money even though they were the one who told me. Why would you tell a customer "we charged you for a free tire rotation" and then not refund them? I spoke to someone from the dealership and explained the situation. They listened to me and said I will call you back, and guess what?" It's 3 weeks later, and no call back....so that says it all right there. Good luck... this place doesn't have my blessings and beware of the FREE $39.99 TIRE ROTATION...😔👎🏼

Hands down one of the best service providers. I recently came in with my 2017 accord coupe to get a key made and also check on a problem with the gauge cluster. As soon as I came in I could tell this dealership was different, they took pictures of my car and also put down a paper mat and plastic seat cover and this blew me away. Not only did they respect me and my time they also respected my car and this shows a lot. I have been to metro Honda near Bayonne and so many other dealerships in the area but this one takes the cake. No other dealerships will treat you with this level of respect. My service advisor Poppy was AMAZING. She understood the issue I had with my car and got it in right away for a key and diagnostic test. I had the car back within 2:30 hours for all this work. I used to get oil changes done at metro Honda that would take 3 hours long😂😂. Even though I live about 45 minutes to an hour away I will be driving the distance even for basic maintenance like oil changes for all my cars. Thank you guys and keep up the good work!!

"Worst" Honda Service provider out there! The wait time is on average 3 hours. I waited a couple times here for over 2 hours just to bring my car into shop 😱 and this is when my repairs were scheduled. They charge you for service about two times the price of any other Honda Service providers. For instance, I had my car inspected for transmission issues by Honda Mahwah and they recommended a treatment for $430 but they still recommended I should come here since they serviced my car in the past, and Honda Mahwah didn't charge me a diagnostic fee even though I didn't end up servicing the car with them, but here they charge me $530 ($100 more 😤) and when I told them I'll go do this treatment back by Mahwah they are threatening to charge $199 diagnostic fee which was NOT agreed upon before. The service agents are mostly rude (had experience with 3 of them), though, I must admit that the managers are very nice. The guys taking over your vehicle when you enter the shop don't even speak English. 🧐 The reason I came here in first place was for a transmission exchange. When I called them up asking them if I'll get a loaner car (which not all Service providers are giving) they told me yes, but after taking the car in for over two hours I was told that no loaner car will be given to me (even though they told me so on the phone), so I went out and made several phone calls to other Honda Service dealers and told them I want the car back and take it some other place, somehow, they miraculously found a loaner car for me. 😅 Be smart and go some other place that has integrity, is honest, and is not gonna overcharge you. And yeah, you don't deserve waiting for hours because of their incompetent scheduling system.
