I’m only giving manager Vic his 5 stars because the way he handled things professionally.

Overall, I was happy with the service at the facility. I did purchase four tires and have them installed and requested that an oil change be done. I expected them to at least discount the oil change a little bit being that I was spending so much money in their facility, but that did not happen really that’s the only thing that turned me off about using this facility and I’m not quite sure that I’ll be back . If a discount was applied to the oil change, I definitely would’ve recommended this to family members

I specifically requested rear tires replacement three times that I scheduled an appointment. Pep boys ended up changing the front tires instead saying they were more worn out which simply isn’t true and false. One of the front two tires was actually replaced due to a nail and that tire is still good condition. The rear tires that need to be changed have wear down to the wires on the inner edge of the tires making them road hazards. I’ve been here for almost three hours and now they have to fix their mistake and change the rear tires. Not happy at all with this place

I went here for an oil change last year, and they tried to tell me I was in due of replacing my tires since I was over 100,000 miles. I was only at 25k miles so I don’t know why they were so misinformed. Staff not very friendly either. Classic case of a car shop trying to misinform women. Be careful if you go here, I’m avoiding it from now 🚫🚫🚫

Vincent took great care with handling my sister’s appointment and got the car done in a timely manner thank you Hector for installing the tires. Would always come back great staff and well run!

Made an appointment the day via phone call of for an oil change. Very easy user-friendly process. I dropped the vehicle and work was completed as expressed to me. The counter person was very communicative and helpful.

Went in after getting a last minute appointment. The team did an extensive check of the concerns I came in with. They added a bottle of radiator coolant and said "no charge"! I was blown away and have the comfort of knowing that I have a local mechanic that cares and most importantly, that I can count on!!

From Dec 6, 2025. I had an appointment and still spent 3 hours for replacing 4 tires and tire pressure monitoring system sensors. On my way home, the sensor light came on. I called and was told to go back tomorrow. I now have to spend another hour round trip and not sure how long it would take for them to fix it. Very disappointed.

100 for an oil change on a 2011 Subaru legacy is outrageous never coming back here. You’re better off supporting a family owned shop than this corporate bs. I’m giving two stars bc the tall black guy at the front was the only pleasant thing about this place

The service was quick and efficient. The staff were friendly and professional, and my tire was changed in no time. Great experience overall!

My boyfriend and I were driving back to NY from California and the car started making some funky noises. We stopped to have the car checked out very last minute. They identified the issue (broken muffler) and got us back on the road. They were quick, kind and thorough!

Just amazing service. Got a screw in my tire on my way to work. Thought I would need a new tire after only two months of getting a whole new set of tires. They took care of my tire 20 minutes after I initially called them and it took them less than 30 minutes to fix it. And everyone is so nice there. Just incredible!

Pep Boys Parsippany offered amazing service when I needed a new tire within a few hours of their shop closing! I called ahead and explained that I needed to get back to NYC with a new tire and they were able to get everything taken care of efficiently. Thanks Pep Boys Parsipanny!!!

I had a great experience there, always get tires done and always have no troubles, this particular time I went to put a fairly new tire on a new rim because the rim went, previously around 3 weeks, I went to this same pepboys, I had another rim replaced via the same process and with the fairly new tires, workers were great and was in and out, now when i went in this time, I was told to bring the other rim when i can and they would put it on in no time, I told them I would and then the time came to return and get the rim on, when i went into the store, I was met with an associate who said they weren't taking walk in( fair enough) but then told me that i cannot get it done because its against company policy and that he doesn't have the proper paperwork so it would not be able to be done and that I could not get this done because its a liability for them even though it's a new tire from a couple months ago and he tried to upsell my a brand new tire because of this "policy", I said ok and left and the next day i called them and they told me that I could come in and do what I asked of them yesterday, I went in and was out within the hour, I don't know who that man was but he was very sulky and acted like he didn't want to be there and tried to upsell me a tire on a procedure I got done a couple of weeks ago! Not impressed but that individual but overall experience was great and fast!

The customer experience was extremely poor, and we wasted both time and money. The lack of expertise to resolve the issue within a day or two was frustrating. Even after calling the advisor, there was no update. Additionally, a couple of problems were introduced after my first visit, and I had to take the vehicle to Firestone to get it fixed due to an oil leakage.

Please use Parsippany Pep Boys. The guys, Jordan & Jay took good care of me. Came in with a flat tire & broken lug nut. They explained the repair, parts & labor very clearly for a senior lady to understand. Nice waiting area and the guys were very courteous & professional.

Took an hour 1/2 for an almost $100 dollar “full synthetic mobile one oil change” and my oil-life on my vehicle lasted a month; that’s NEVER happened. I get my oil changed every 2000 miles from a different place and I think they didn’t give me new oil or a new filter or both. Attaching a picture that my oil life died 2000 miles before it should have and the new oil change I had to do today. I’ll definitely will edit this post once I see how long this new oil change last but something is weird…

I cannot say enough, good things about the people that work here. I did not have an appointment and was stranded in the parking lot thinking my battery was dead, but turns out my alternator needed to be replaced. I could not turn my car back on. Without hesitation, they took my car in and replace my alternator within two hours. I am beyond grateful for what they did for me and will continue to go back there.

They were so nice. The service was fast and they did a great job. Good communication. The final cost was less than the original quote and they used a coupon for my breaks. My front tire had a nail in it and they fixed that for no charge too. 10/10 amazing will absolutely be back.

Every time I go in everyone is very helpful. Most times I speak with Jordan and he is always for pleasant to speak with. Today a different person helped me that I haven’t dealt with before and he was very helpful as well and whoever fixed my car. I stopped in after work not expecting to have my car fixed today but they were able to assist in a timely manner so I do not have to return a different day. I appreciate the customer service they provide when I go there.

Jordan was very friendly and helpful. The second employee that rung me up was also very nice but I didn't catch his name. My car is running well and I'm happy with my experience. I would definitely return and I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a convenient mechanic.

I have to say, my experience at this Pep Boys location was extremely frustrating and disappointing. It took me three visits just to address my initial issue, and each time was an ordeal. The last visit, however, went beyond inconvenient—it was concerning. When I left, my car's wheels were shaking, which was unsettling. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that one of my lug studs was missing, and three others were not tightened properly. This is a serious safety concern. What added to the frustration was the misinformation I received from the technician. He claimed there was a bent part on the passenger side that prevented him from aligning the car. This is completely false. I had personally replaced several parts of the suspension myself and knew that nothing was bent. He then suggested the sway bar end link was the problem and claimed it was all one piece, which is incorrect. I know this because I have replaced that part myself, and regardless, it would not impact their ability to align my car. This experience has left me with major concerns about the safety practices and competency at this location. I would strongly caution anyone considering service here to be aware of the potential risks.

I had brought my car into pep boys to simply have two brand new tires put onto the rear and a wheel alignment to match this past October. All appeared well until two days ago, When my front right tire EXPLODED on the road. As you can see after I took off the tire and brought it to a different place of business the alignment was so out of spec you’d think a child did it! This not only caused unnecessary wear on ALL my tires but also put me and my loved ones in danger while driving on the road! Please go to a shop that takes pride in their work and doesn’t cut corners, this is not one of them.

Update: After the last repair, the engine still makes strange noises and shakes. I opened the hood and saw a big crack on one of the pipes!!! How can I get a $1400 repair service that can overlook the cracked pipe next to the engine? Their services price are significantly higher than the market average, and they will deceive you into adding unnecessary services. To fix a misfire engine shaking issue (we'll assume their diagnosis for now), needed to replaced the spark plugs, and they forced me to add some other services, costing $1700 after so-called discounts, which I paid $1400 (I asked several other shops, even a dealership, for the same issue repair, and the market price doesn't go above $1000). I understand if pep boys has a higher labor cost, and I can even understand charging a bit more when my car couldn't move. But is it not outrageous to charge almost double when they see a young woman who seems to know little about cars bringing in a problematic vehicle? Also, I don't understand why the engine problem occurred after the first time I got an oil change from them; there shouldn't be any connection, right? I don't know if other Pep Boys stores are similarly cheating customers, but I will make sure EVERYONE around me, my neighbors, and colleagues know about my experience. I hope this helps everyone avoid unnecessary losses!

So had an experience with another tire shop and they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for new tires and installing a level kit on an F150. Never ordered the tires I asked for and showed up the day I was told and they didn’t have them. I called Pepboys the same day and asked if they had the tires in stock. They got the tires within a day and I saved a few hundred dollars with the mounting and balancing as well as the install of the leveling kit. I will say this much, they are some of the nicest people I have worked with and am glad I went to them to have the work done. If you’re looking for a tire place or even something like a suspension install I would genuinely recommend them to anyone! Thank you for the great experience and will gladly come back if anything else ever pops up.
