This review applies to the hazardous waste drop-off only. I made an appointment using the website. I had to fill out a form stating what I would be bringing. In my case it was pesticides, herbicides, motor oil, and fluorescent bulbs. I got two email reminders of my appointment, two days and one day before. Arrived a few minutes early on a Tuesday morning, followed sign to household hazardous waste drop off (HHW). There are two lanes, nobody on line. Employee with clip board asks my name. Then I opened trunk, the staff took everything. All done. I was there for all of one minute.
The guy at the entrance was super nice and pleasant to be around. However the guy sitting in his booth was completely unprofessional. It was my mother's first time at the dump, there's no instructions on what to do or when to pull up posted so when a slot opened up we started to move in. After being waved back to the line, and finally seeing that the guy was holding up numbers when you're supposed to pull up, the man continued to chastise my mother, telling her that he knows she's done this before (once again she's never been there before today). As my mom is apologizing over and over this guy continues to yell at her for no reason. Unacceptable, unprofessional, and rude. If I could give him a 0 star review I would.
If you live up in Morris County NJ this is a great place to know when you need to toss out a ton of junk. It’s open Saturday 730-1100 and takes most household and construction trash. It’s a cheap and effective way to get rid of junk. You drive up, weigh your car and then dump it and weigh on way out and pay ( really cheap ex 120 lbs of wood $6.60) can’t bet it. Only thing hard hat and vest required they give it to you but if you are like me I picked up a cheap set at HD) and use it when I need to go.
I was there on Saturday 10:50 there was a waiting so I approached a gate at 11:02. And he didn’t let me in even tho I got there on time and I was the last vehicle. The guy at the gate is very unprofessional and rude. He won’t even let you speak or ask a question…
I am a tax payer and Budd lake resident. I went here a few days ago to inquire about how much it would be to throw our carpets. I have never used their services before. The male worker at the gate was unprofessional and rude, he was of no help at all. This employee I am referring to acted like he is the King of the Trash. If you go here, do not expect a decent human interaction.
Fast and easy disposal. Attentive and helping staff. A bit of a nuisance to set an appointment which can be in two or more weeks when you need to discard of your junk asap. But the place is there and available so thanks!
If you are a homeowner with a trailer looking to get rid of junk, this is a great alternative to a dumpster. I cleaned out my shed and garage and drove the 15 minutes, weighed in, unloafed and weighed out for just shy of $13. One time I brought 1800 pounds of various builders wood, and that was $89. You should have a hard hat and vest, although I went twice without a hard hat and just kept to myself and unloaded as fast as I could.
Excellent experience about two weeks ago. Telephone presence outstanding when making appointment. Site well marked from road. Great help unloading. A fine service extremely well managed.
Once you know what’s going on, it’s easy to navigate dumping your stuff. What’s terrible is if you’ve never been before. The website has no details and the facility itself has no signage telling you where to go first or what to do. If you’re lucky enough to flag down a person who works there they are very helpful giving directions.
Enter facility and head right towards the scale. Drive on and get weighed, and get a hard hat and vest lended to you if you don’t have your own. Go around the back and wait in line for your turn to unload, backing into the bay you’re directed to and wearing your safety gear when outside your vehicle. Then go back around behind the facility to the weigh station again to pay and return your gear. It’s about 5-6 cents/pound.
I usually go there on week days the guy at the entrance to much work for him collecting checks he don’t like serving private residents he forgets tax payers pays he’s Salary
