They were really great here when I broke down and had a 6 hour drive home. Gail was super helpful and literally called me every few hours with updates on my truck and was so sweet and comforting. I had my little dog with me and they had no problems with me having her there with me while I waited in between.

Recently had my daughter's car in for service. Front end work $2300, bring it back in approximately 6 weeks later you need new tires etc. I don't understand why they didn't notice tires before. The up selling and lack of knowledge on repair costs vs repair a car or cut your losses if for their benefit. They choose their bottom line. They don't value the customer. I won't be coming back with any vehicle.

The guys are great here. Anthony helped me set up a fleet account and made it easy as possible. Anthony R worked on my van and was quick and attentive. Really a group of attentive and helpful guys here. The prices are right and fair. Thank you

I have been a PepBoys service customer for over 20 years. I understand that things get busy sometimes, I understand that not all car problems have easy solutions, and I understand that mistakes happen. But up until now, I have always felt that Pepboys would at least try to fix my car. To explain: - I called Thursday at noon and asked if they were busy, was told that they were busy currently and to come in around 5pm and ask for Gail. Then dial tone. No asking for my name or anything else. Ok they did say they were busy, I am not upset. - When I arrived at PepBoys at 5pm (they were definitely not busy then), I explained that my car was having trouble starting lately, and was concerned that maybe the battery was dying or something. Gail took forever to enter my info ("the computer is so slow") then sent me to the waiting room behind the service desk. - I quickly got a text with a link to a webpage where I could see my cars service status, estimating complete at 6:15. Which status never changed at all the entire two hours I was sitting there, even though I refreshed that page every 10 minutes or so. - When I heard employees starting to go home at 7pm, I went back up to the desk ... and Gail asked who I was. She then started looking around vaguely, until I pointed to my car keys sitting on her desk next to completed paperwork. I asked her how long that had been sitting there, and she assured me it was just two minutes. I am pretty sure based on the 6:15 estimate that it was sitting there closer to 45 minutes than 2 minutes, but at that point I just wanted to find out what was wrong with my car. - Gail then informed me that the battery had checked out OK, and the starter was good, and something else checked out OK too, so "everything is fine". I forget what else she said was OK because she never gave me any paperwork, just squinted at the tiny paper receipt in her hand, then said no charge, and I was free to go. But I could come back if the car had a problem in the future. At which point I had to reach over her desk to pick up my car key myself, then walked out. - When I got to my car, I checked that service status link again, it STILL had not changed. Sending me to a status page that NEVER updates is worse than not having a status page at all! At least have the desk person not forget me after 2 hours (hint: I was the only one in that waiting room). - As I left Pepboys, my car started on the first try, so I stopped on the way home to get some food. Then when I got back in my car a few minutes later, it took approx 20 tries to start my car. That is NOT "fine"! But NO, I will NOT be going back. Never again.

Came here late on Saturday 1/31 for a leaking tire. I leave my car near this location, but it’s 2 hours away from where I live. I was just visiting when I saw my tire flat. Staff was really helpful and happy to accommodate right away while on a time crunch. Tire is good as new and I’m glad I have a place in the area now that I can trust if anything happens in the future 👍

THE ENTIRE STAFF @ PEP BOYS IN HAZLET, NJ ARE AWESOME!!!! My father's SUV had a broken serpentine belt. I had changed it myself in 0 degree temperature with barely any tools. After changing we drove it about 3 miles and the truck was smoking bad and lost power. I realized that the air conditioning compressor was the culprit and was burning up the belt again. I called the local Pep Boys and they referred me to the Hazlet store for assistance. I called and kept in constant communication of our situation because we waited over 6 hours for AAA to help with a tow. We finally got there right as they were closing. Brandon had taken care of us with professionalism and concerned as he understood our homeless situation and need for help. Shout out to Jacob for his help as well. I received a call from Gail and I informed her of our situation. She gave us a quote which was fair and reasonable,then stated it should be done in 4 to 5 hours for replacing the air conditioning compressor and new belt. 2.5 hours went by and I received another call saying it was ready for pickup. I was completely shocked on how quick they were. This staff is professional, caring and understanding of our needs. I highly recommend this Pep Boys if you're in the area for a need of assistance with your vehicle. Thank you Pep Boys of Hazlet. You guys rock!!!!

Amazing customer service! An unfortunate event occurred at no one’s fault. The garage door to the bay my car was in broke and was stuck shut. This resulted in my car being stuck on the lift for a few days. The staff and management were kind and helpful throughout this process. Initially offering to pay for my uber rides. Then ultimately not charging me for the cost of the tires or the installation. Very professional and great customer service. Will be returning in the future!

Came here first the first time for oil change and some other routine maintenance. Online booking was easy. The place surprised me with how clean and modern it was. Was waiting for almost 2 hours but they have plenty of water/coffee, large tvs, and a ton of usb wall chargers. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. 10/10 will return with any future issues!

I just had my headlights replaced but they were so nice and accommodating. They happily checked my brakes and tire tread as well. They could have told me to get new ones but they told me to monitor my tires and that my brakes were fine. They are honest. Will definitely be back in the future.

I waited to post this review due to an issue that occurred at this location. Full disclosure, the real issue is Nissan decided to make their oil pan plastic with a metal fitting. If you look this up, you will see that it was true. That was the first inkling I received that this Pep boys, with more specifically, their manager Anthony, was very transparent and truthful. I got a simple oil change from Pep boys, and long story short there ended up being a leak due to an overtightened drain plug. The plastic oil pan cracked. They had mentioned to me in the shop that they thought oil may have been coming from my car, so they took it into the garage twice to verify and I suppose ultimately were unsure. Being after 7P, they were closed when I called. I called the next morning and Anthony picked up. This is where he went the extra mile. He set up a free towing service to come pick up the vehicle while I was at work. I was hoping to get more information throughout the day, and he picked the phone up each time and was very patient with my questions, which I'm sure were aggravating after the 3rd or 4th call for coordination of the tow truck and then follow up questions and confirmations. The end result was my car is now verified to not be leaking. I parked it in the driveway and put cardboard underneath. When I awoke in the morning, I checked and the cardboard was clear. I will absolutely be bringing my vehicle back to Pep boys in the future... Although I believe they no longer accept servicing Nissans as of yesterday lol... Anthony deserves a raise though, if anyone from corporate is reading this. As a side note, I've received service from the store that was very close to this location, where an issue also occurred, and the reaction of that place was to not only fabricate a fantasy story, but also to blame ME for the issue. I will never return to that particular location in the shop rite plaza... especially now after seeing the level of professionalism offered by Pep boys here.

Little late with my review but had gotten new tires and had my CV axle replaced at this location. I had great experience thanks to anthony. Super professional, friendly, and actually took the time to explain everything without trying to upsell me. The shop was organized, service was smooth, and you can tell the team is well-run. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this location.

Had tire issue and thought to work with Pep... Awful experience and would not recommend to anyone. Best to select a competitor that provides respect, sets expectations, and ensures proper communication is provided to customers. Sales team, at the hazlet location, is under poor management and district manager is incompetent. District manager imapcts thenoperations of the store and sales team. Sales team is under guidance of and lack support from district manager to operate a location effectively. Completely unorganized and disfunctional store. CAN NOT (and will never) RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!

The manager Anthony was amazing! Was promised a price for a battery, didn’t have it. It was more expensive at the auto parts store. Anthony, after trying to eat his sandwich for 3 hours straight, no breaks, honored the price for me. Will recommend this pep boys to anyone, if there was a way to out more than 5 stars, I’d give him 500 stars. Keep up the great work Anthony!

I had a tire issue and went to Pep Boys, and Delvin took great care of me. The team was professional, helpful, and explained everything clearly. They got me back on the road quickly and made a stressful situation much easier. Excellent service all around.

Anthony and his crew (Brandon) were very personable and accommodating. No complaints here. As luck would have it, less then a mile after pulling out with 4 new tires, I got screw in my tire and they took care of it foc.

My most recent visit to Pep Boys resulted in the fastest turnaround for car repair I've ever had! What started as an oil change at my car dealership turned into being told I needed all 4 tires and rear brake pads replaced. I dropped my car off at noon, picked up after 5:30. The sales rep I worked with, Delvin, kept me informed throughout the process and helped me take advantage of the Black Friday deals so I saved a lot of money. He even went as far as having tires brought in from another location after running out of stock. Great experience and glad I got my car back so soon especially to get to work.

I came for an oil change on a busy Sunday morning and assistant store manager was by himself at the desk. He made the experience smooth and convenient. While waiting it was clear that Delvin was managing a full line of customers and busy phones all while maintaining a high degree of customer service. Besides the quality oil change, I highly recommend people use Pep Boys in Hazlet because of the tremendous customer service.

Always an excellent experience at Pep Boys, Hazlet ! The front end staff are always friendly, and can handle any questions before and after the repairs. The techs always get it done in a timely manner and always right the first time ! Texts and phone calls keep you updated and let you know when your car is ready for pickup. I will definitely return to PBH for my next repair or maintenance ! 😊

I bring it to my tires. They’re gonna change it. I tell him exactly after that put the tire on it for the migraine please do the balancing they say dip do it, but they aren’t and I checked the tires then I do the balancing and they don’t know again he he’s a manager, Anthony they have a rude attitude I recommended never ever go that place

Brandon and the team were incredibly thorough, patient and understanding. The team discovered multiple issues during their routine check of my 13 year old car and showed me each component while explaining the issue. I sincerely don't believe I could have received more competent or professional service anywhere. The waiting area was recently renovated and the WIFI was reliable and fast. I couldn't have been more impressed nor pleased with the service.

I’m a long time customer and the team here has always treated me well. They are very good at consulting and helping you stay on budget with essential vs non essential work. Brandon took great care of me through the whole process and helped determine work that needed to be done.

We had a flat tire on a Sunday afternoon. Our car was at a local marina. I called Pep Boys and Delvin was a God send! He helped me obtain a tow truck (which came within 30 minutes) and the tires we needed were in stock. The car was fixed promptly and we were able to get home to Morris County… all within a few hours.

I needed to have my two front tires replaced. Therefore, I made an appointment for this service, which also includes a complimentary “inspection” of the car. I use the term “inspection” loosely because it’s questionable if one was actually performed. After under-inflating my tires (they only put 35 PSI when my sticker clearly states 45 PSI), they performed what they called a visual inspection through which they cleared my brakes for road safety after “checking” and “passing” them. While driving soon afterwards, I heard a squeaking sound, which eventually went away, so I attributed it to the trucks around me. However, later that day (the same day after their “inspection”), I had trouble stopping my car on the highway. When I pressed on the brake, there was not enough pressure. My car actually accelerated as opposed to slowing down (scary). Luckily, it eventually slowed down enough for me to get over and exit the highway. I was able to have my car checked, and I was told that I had no brake fluid, no brake pad, and that my piston was shifted..I also needed a new caliper. I couldn’t drive the car for the time being, and I had to get an Uber to get home and a rental until I was able to pick the car up (I had to work so there was a time conflict with getting it back). Besides that, if they had actually inspected the vehicle like they said that they did, then I would have gotten new brakes and whatever else that was emergent while I was there, as opposed to the inconvenience of what I had to go through. My kids were also in the car and there could have been a bad accident. When I contacted PepBoys, of course they washed their hands and stated that they weren’t responsible since it wasn’t an actual inspection and they didn’t work on my brakes. My response to that is that they worked on my tires, and didn’t even get that right. What was the point of the inspection?? They ended up offering some one-time $100 voucher or something, but no.. I ended up with more losses than that due to their negligence/ incompetence. For anyone that doesn’t want to play Russian Roulette, don’t ever trust their complimentary “inspection”, since it’s likely a fabricated assessment to the point where they cannot efficiently pass your vehicle for road safety.

Went to Pep Boys today in Hazlet, NJ for new tires and a couple other things. Delvin was great and was knowledgeable! He explained everything in detail which I appreciated, and was patient in answering all my questions. Delvin told me it would be about 2 hours and my car was ready within that timeframe which I appreciated, and he kept me informed throughout the process. In hearing Delvin interacting with other customers, he was very professional and efficient at his role. Thank you Delvin and team for the great experience today!
